Food was truly amazing, the only thing that I did not agree with was the $14 glass of Zin thus the 4 rather than 5 stars.

The service was phenomenal, but the food was just alright. I was expecting more based on the reviews, but found the food to be boring. The fried chicken was delicious, but the side of sauteed carrots and artichoke was drenched in oil, which did not go well with the flavorless crema drizzled on top of the veggies. The prime rib was well cooked, but the quality of the meat was not worth the price. The brussel sprouts was not executed well. I'm a huge fan of popovers, and as I ripped the popover open, I already knew it wasn't a good one; It was soggy and under cooked. The popovers I make are better. Cocktails sounded great paper, but disappointing in taste. However the chocolate covered bacon that came with one of the cocktails was amazing! I was hoping the dessert menu would change the meal around, but nothing looked appealing enough. Overall, amazing amazing service, but there are better places for food.

We were a group of 12 people having breakfast at Verge. The quality of food as well as service was really good! One of the servers was on top of things and went above and beyond to make sure we got everything. He was awesome!

The restaurant has a limited menu, which I encourage you to view before making a reservation.

The food was good, served nicely, and tasty.

The restaurant is open to the bar area was very noisy making it difficult for the four of us to hear each other in conversation.

Cocktails were great, meals were outstanding. Staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming. We would absolutely recommend this restaurant to others. Great meal, service, ambiance and atmosphere! Cheers!

We ordered the pork and duck burger and steak. I was excited to see how they included the mac and cheese on the burger, but I was not impressed. The pork and duck burger was almost flavorless. They really needed to add some salt on the pork. The Mac and cheese was not very cheesy and the fries were ok. The steak was not all that great either. It had a stringy texture. We did not eat even half of our plates; however, the service and wine was great. Unfortunate that the food wasn’t.

Only bad point was our waiter kept going missing, and when we got our meals, he forgot to include mine when he put in the order. I was starting as everyone else was finishing up. The food was fantastic, I put the service issues on the waiter and the waiter alone.

Food was ok. We had a misunderstanding with the waiter but he really made it seem like it was our fault (he thought we were sharing food and therefore after the food was served he had to reorder two more dishes so we did not have our food at the same time), he did not apologize or anything. Service overall was lacking. Not attentive at all.

From the service to the food everything was wonderful...I didn’t catch our servers name but he made great suggestions for our meal and drinks and was perfectly attentive. The restaurant was decorated beautifully and they were playing great music! All in all we had a wonderful time! I will be sure to recommend this place to anyone that I know coming up to this area!

We have always received exceptional and friendly service here. Unfortunately our waitress was not available enough or well informed on menu items. The restaurant wasn't very busy it was only 10:30am yet she ran around frantically. This is our 2nd brunch here, we loved our first visit. Dinner is ALWAYS on point.

My husband, friend, and I celebrated our birthdays here last month, and we wanted a nice dinner before going to a concert. I had read rave reviews for the bar and food, especially the the duck burger with the MAC and CHEESE bun. Yes, you read that correctly!

We arrived early, so I ordered a cocktail. I couldn't decide between the vanilla old-fashioned and the Sazerac, so I asked the bartender. She preferred the old-fashioned. She poured the vanilla syrup over the vanilla bean, put in the large ice cube, measured and poured the bourbon, and then just handed the drink to me. She did not bother to stir the drink. So the drink was warm and unmixed. I suspect she steered me towards the old-fashioned, because she didn't know how to make a Sazerac. The bar wasn't busy, so she wasn't rushed.

We ordered the mushroom cobbler which was DELICIOUS, followed by crab risotto, fried chicken, and the duck burger. The risotto and chicken were tasty, but imagine our surprise when the burger came out with a brioche bun and a measly amount of pale mac and cheese. We were incredibly disappointed by this, since this was THE dish we came to try. We were expecting what we had seen in the photos online .

I'd also been looking forward to trying the smores with bourbon marshmallows, but there wasn't enough time since there had been a very long pause in service. We were given a piece of cheesecake though.

Also, there was a very good singer/musician playing during our dinner. Someone stopped by our table to check if the music was too loud and bothering us, which was very considerate. We enjoyed the music and thought it added to our experience.

All in all, our dinner was a mixed bag of food and service. I'm not sure we would eat here again, since the main dish we wanted has changed without notice. I wrote a polite email to the manager, but never got a reply.

My friends and I really enjoyed the food and cocktails. My cucumber basil margarita was refreshing and had a generous pour of tequila. Three of us shared three starters and two entrees- plenty of food. The octopus and pork belly starter was great! The octopus was cooked perfectly. The mushroom cobbler was the bomb!
We sat on the patio so I can’t comment on the vibe inside. The only improvement I can recommend would be to make the parking situation clearer. There’s a little sign at the driveway entrance and you have to pull up pretty close to the gate for it to open. There is underground parking or you can head up the driveway to the hotel entrance and park. Make sure you stop by the front desk to get a card so you can exit for free.

The food looked and tasted like it was prepared earlier and reheated. My husband’s risotto was ice cold in the center so they didn’t even reheat it properly. My short rib looked and tasted like leftovers but it was heated through. Very disappointed with this place. The service however was excellent!

Hidden in Tollgate Hotel. Doesn't seem to get much foot traffic but the food was awesome. Beautiful presentation and our waiter made some great suggestions from the menu

Great place to go with friends for drinks and apps. The food is really good and service is great. Sit by the fire inside in the winter, or outside in the summer.

We went for my husband's birthday. We were very impressed by the creative and unique menu with perfect execution. Everyone loved their dishes and it was all amazingly delicious. We also had a wonderful waiter and very attentive staff.

Considering it was only a quarter full, the service was slow. Lacked any cool vibe or atmosphere. Food just average, and portions on the small size
The Brussel sprout starter is a rip off. Just a big plate of deep fried outer leaves with the main body of each sprout missing. It was like eating a bowl of lumpy air. The Asian BBQ spare ribs were delicious, but a complete rip off at $16 for 4 ribs the size of my little finger.

All in all, just 'meh'. You can eat far better for less money at many other places in Los Gatos.

Verge is a solid local choice. The atmosphere can vary a good bit. There were a couple of corporate events on this evening so it was quite lively. It was also game 5 of the Warriors series so there was a significant crowd in the bar. While the service was excellent I found the food to be only right down the middle.

We had a lovely meal with absolutely excellent service! We went to celebrate Mother's Day. My Mom is 90 so the easy access to the dining room from the parking area was a plus. Can be hard to find in Los Gatos. My mom enjoyed everything about the Verge dining experience. The exceptional service by all made us feel like VIP's. The food was great! Every course was interesting and tasty. The popovers were a treat, as well as the complimentary "flight" of deserts. We all agreed to go again!

We chose Verge due to the good ratings on Open Table and availablility on the Saturday before Mother's Day., but were a bit concerned about bringing the family (4 adults, 2 childern, 1 infant) to celebrate a birthday, as there was no mention of a childern's menu or the like. We had early (5:30 pm) reservations and were pleasantly surprised by: The large square table we sat out gave everyone planty of room; there is a childern's menu, and crayons and paper to keep the childern occupied.
Now for the important things. The food was excellent! I had the hanger steak that was done properly (medium rare) that came with salsify, rutegbega and brussel sprouts. Not often you get that blend of vegatables in a restaurant, and also done right. My wife had the scallops, and she enjoyed the layers of flavors with the accompanying vegatables and sauces. My son had the rack of lamb (4 chops), and my daughter-in-law had the buttermilk chicken, which was very moist and no grease (though fried). The wine list is modest, but a good selection. The service was helpful and attentive, but not over-bearing.
One criticism: THe childern's mac and cheese came with french fries. Really, all that starch?
All in all, an excellent meal.

Our waiter, Hector, was friendly and attentive. The food was all really tasty, as were the various cocktails everyone at the table ordered. We shared 3 appetizers - calamari (not on the dinner menu, but Hector recommended it from the bar menu), brussel sprouts with deviled egg and an Ahi tuna steak and tuna tartare dish. Everything was delicious. I loved my rack of lamb. Hubby had the pork & duck burger, which he thoroughly enjoyed. From short ribs to hangar steak to sea bass - everyone enjoyed their meals.
