Great food. Service a little bit confused at times. Quiet enough to enjoy conversation. Great overall night out.
My husband and I were meeting friends who recently moved to California for Lunch/Brunch and had the most wonderful time. Everyone working at Verge was so pleasant and VERY accommodating and sat us outside on the patio. To food was amazing, service was amazing and can’t wait to go back.
This was our second visit and it didn't disappoint. The risotto was fantastic but nothing matches the service
I highly recommend coming here for Brunch. The staff was outstanding! They listened to my special requests and the food was delicious! :)
We eat in the Verge often. We have come to feel very much at home in this place. The food is always excellent , service is outstanding and the prices are fine. And the most important consideration is to us
the people.....and these are fine people.
Our party of six became four because of the rainy weather. We were celebrating our good friends' 84th and 87th birthdays. We had brunch and all of us had something different. Everything was delicious. We will be back!
Given the special occasion it was very disappointing. The idea of having a musician in a bar so close to a restaurant was very annoying couldn’t have a conversation. My friends really talked up the place but I’m not sure I would return. Octopus was a little tough. Ribs not the best. Staff was watching the basketball game and had to wait for them to look my way because they couldn’t hear me over the one man band!! I really wanted it to work out.. I work so close.
Great Sunday brunch. Live music, great ambience. Highly recommended
I really enjoyed the cocktails. Wide selection and something for everybody's taste. The bread they served was my favorite item. It's served in a bag and is really hot. It just melts in the mouth. I enjoyed the Hanger Steak. Cooked perfectly and was tender. The Short Rib was good too. I had the Crab Toast. Not my normal choice for an appetizer, but it was really good especially if you like crab and pork belly. The Butternut Soup was my least favorite thing. The service is outstanding. Everyone was so friendly.
Very nice breakfast. Service very good. Would go back ahain
The food was good. Service excellent. The music good but too loud so hard to have a conversation. I would recommend the place
This was our second visit to Verge. The service was excellent, really! The food was decent... we had the Seabass, great flavor, but luke- warm at best, the pan seared rib eye- ordered medium rare, came well done and not hot. Believe it or not, the service more than made up for it. Great waiter and bus staff... we will go again, too nice of an environment to skip
One of the best meals I have had in a long time! I was pleased that there were vegetarian items on the menu. All the dishes are prepared with the freshest ingredients and the presentation is beautiful. Make sure you order the S'mores for dessert, which is enough for 2 to share. It comes with your own table top "firepit" to toast your marshmallows!
The food and service was outstanding. Very engaging server who paid attention to details, checked in on a regular basis and made our whole experience tremendous. Can't wait to go back to try something new!
Great brunch and wonderful atmosphere at Verge. The menu choices are innovative, interesting and delicious. We could have gotten the basic breakfast fare, but all the choices made by our party were outstanding and delicious. Loved the Virgin Mary - it was practically a meal itself. Prompt service, coffee, tea and water kept flowing. Highly recommend Verge for an excellent brunch experience.
What a wonderful find! Loved our Sunday Brunch here and will definitely return! They have live music (applause, applause) from 10-2 on Sundays and we were told it's also from 6-9 on Th & Fri nights. That's always a plus in my book, but their food was a plus, too! We had the corned beef and poached eggs, ham and bacon quiche and the pancake soufflé along with a bloody mary and french pressed coffee. Our server was attentive and informative. Everything was GREAT!
The ambiance and decor were beautiful. The drinks were fun, exciting, and Instagram worthy! However, their limited menu has too little vegetarian options
Hector, Sergio and Maria are the absolute BEST!!! Besides the food being outstanding and delicious, the wait staff @ Verge is the main reason we keep coming back! They are some of the most attentive and friendly people and always make our time here special:)
Went for brunch - compelling menu, well-executed. Took a hint too long for service staff to attend to table but attentive after that. Only complaint was that live background music was too loud for background music.
We enjoyed our breakfast celebrating my husband's birthday. It was a very nice atmosphere with a multigenerational clientele.
We enjoyed delicious food off a great menu. The waiter and busboy were very congenital and helpful
The service was fine, and the food was decent. Cocktails were somewhat creative, but nothing special compared to other options in the area. At 7pm on a Saturday night there were several groups (presumably hotel guests), and the dining room was really loud. Overall I would not recommend this as a date night option... best for groups and guests staying at the hotel.
We were excited to try the new restaurant located in the Toll House Hotel in downtown Los Gatos because of a flurry of press about the new chef. Our first impression was that the decor is still the dreadful anonymous expense account beige which has no character. I suspect that the hotel would not let chef Nguyen redecorate to a more interesting look
. We ate there on January 5 and the dining room was cold, less than 65 degrees. Our server told us that there was a problem with the heating and that everyone who worked there was uncomfortable because of the chilly temperature. We could not enjoy our dinner despite being dressed in sweaters and coats. When we complained to the manager he refused bring a heater to our table, insisted that the temperature somewhere in the dining room was over 70 degrees, and flounced off when we said we could not enjoy our meal because we were on the Verge of shivering. He did not apologize or do anything to make up for the inconvenience. A savy manager would have at least offered to comp us drinks or dessert if only to promote good will and acknowledge that the customer is always right.
The new menu is interesting and we would have enjoyed our meal if we were not rushing to finish so we could get back home to warm up.
We will not be back.
We booked for new year's. The set menu was a little pricy but we had had wine pairing throughout
The table was ours for the whole night.
The food and wine were perfect
It was a quiet night, but the setting was conducive to conversation around the holidays. We maybe had too much attention by waitstaff because there weren't many customers. I might have wanted more vegetarian dishes, but I chose the restaurant knowing it was heavier on meats. All in all we had a nice time. Better signage as to where the restaurant is would be helpful. As an older person driving alone it took me some time to find the entrance as I didn't really register that it was in the hotel. That might be my bad, but if I can't find it I'm sure others have the same issue.
I probably wouldn't return to the restaurant next time, but it's only because a greater vegie menu would be on my list next time.
Excellent wait staff
We came for breakfast as lUnch is not served on week-days to celebrate Christmas with long time
friends. Service was good, one of the women, even took a photo of the four of us gals who had
worked together for many years. We now are all retired. The Holiday ambiance was lovely, food
delicious and we come here for our Christmas gathering for 3 or more years now.
Went for special occasion anniversary - bar area contiguous with restaurant with moderately high noise levels. Food good not great or special. Service good though not special occasion quality
Seems like mostly hotel guests eating at the restaurant
Parking in Los Gatos! Need I say more? But seriously, Chef Albert is LG's best kept secret. The dishes are fun and innovative. I have been for dinner, brunch, and a quick salad and cocktail. The popovers are to die for and remind me of the Cafe at Jordan Pond in Acadia. You must try!
Food is good. Can use some help in terms of ambiance. Just very old style American dining place with good food. Guess nothing wrong with it. :)
Excellent service and staff. Parking for the restaurant is available under the hotel for free!
Food was very good but it is very loud inside. Being so close to, really just an extension of, the bar makes it even louder.
It was good, but the acoustics are crazy. Couldn't hear my across the table as it's very loud. And that was at breakfast! Service and good were great, but I recommend sitting outside.
One of the best places in Los Gatos for brunch. Staff is amazing, the unique selection of food items is great. We especially enjoy the Gingerbread waffles, Waffled Biscuits & Sausage Gravy.
Nice quality food, great pop ups, but noisy on a Friday night. Need to hold music off until 9. LOUD.
We decided to join the Verge for the Thanksgiving Day dinner. I would classify the food as ok but not worth the $70 per person price tag. Considering mimosas and Champaign were included, we felt the price was acceptable. We were shocked to find that an automatic 20% gratuity was added to our bill as we settled. The horrific slow service that we received from our server now made more sense. They knew they were locked in at 20% so there was no need to provide any kind of service. For example, our initial drink order was forgotten and everyone at the table had finished their full plate of food before I had to find the server and remind him of our order. We had to continue to either track the server down or find other server to request refilled drinks. Additionally, we felt that 20% is excessive for a tip when dining at a buffet as there is very little “service” that needs provided other than refreshing drinks and picking up plates. This addition took the value of the meal from questionable to flat out bad when thinking about the quality of food/service and the price paid.
We Had Thanksgiving dinner here with the baby and it was perfect! The food was excellent and creative, and the service was very good considering they were packed. It seems to be a Thanksgiving tradition for many. I will be back!!!
Great outdoor sitting. Food is excellent. Great for special occasions and to hang for a drink
Went for Thanksgiving today. Food was delicious. Service was great!
Food was great, well-cooked, great presentation, tea service was a nice touch
