FARM TO TABLE DOES NOT EXIST. WAITER WAS SUPERB IN TRYING TO MAKE IT UP TO US. WE WERE THE ONLY PATRONS
IN THE RESTAURANT AND I CAN SEE WHY. JUST ACCEPTABLE WINE, JUST ACCEPTABLE FOOD BY A WAITER THAT WAS
TRYING TO MAKE US HAPPY.

Their original menu was very appealing and was one of the reasons we selected the restaurant for dinner. We arrived and were informed that their menu had changed and now featured typically pedestrian hotel restaurant fare.

It was very quiet the night four of us were there recently, probably because the snowbirds have mostly gone home. Which makes dining out not only possible, but pleasant, for locals! We had read great reviews of Verdea in the local paper and they were right. The food was beautiful and absolutely delicious, from the bread basket served with a tray of butter, olive oil, roasted garlic, and chopped tomatoes, to the petite filets, smoked duck breast with curried noodle cake, and seafood stack, to the mango cobbler. For the quality and presentation of food, we were surprised the prices seemed very reasonable. The wine list was also reasonably priced. Decor was dark and cozy and somewhat exotic. Overall, great experience!

No ambiance being inside an Embassy Hotme Suiteshotel. But lack of atmosphere was made up for by very well prepared food and a wonderful and attentive waiter. There is a big selection of good wines at very reasonable prices. I would recommend it.

An real treasure! This was an unbelievable food experience. A four course meal with wine parings, way beyond expectations. The food was exquisite, wine parings exceptional, service was excellent, atmosphere relaxed, romantic, intimate. This place is a real gem.

One of my favorite restuarants. They do a great job on the "farm to table" theme. In addition, the wines are so quality focused reasonably priced (100% markup) that my wife and I usually buy a bottle of white as well as red to enjoy during our dinner.

We had been at Verdea when it first opened and really enjoyed the food and wine list. We returned on a Friday evening with a group of 8 and had terrible service. The restaurant was deserted (besides our group there were only two other tables), but the food took for ever and wasn't anything special. The waiter was clueless. We won't be back.

We went for our anniversary, since we pass by the restaurant daily and always say that we want to try it. We were greeted by Tom who is the wine manager and our waiter for the evening. He was beyond helpful and gracious. He made some recommendations since we were on the fence on what to order and we went with pretty much all of them. The chef started us with some complimentary conch fritters which were amazing, we haven't had better ones living in South Florida than when we ate them almost daily in Turks and Caicos. The caesar salad was amazing due to the freshly made croutons which are made with Garbanzo (chi chi) beans. I have never enjoyed a caesar salad more. The entrees were delicious as were the desserts. Verdea lost its chef, and the former pastry chef has taken over the menu. A valiant effort, but the food just doesn't measure up to what it used to be. It was good but not great, and at those prices, it should be great. The wine list is impressive; the wine prices are not. A glass of wine is priced at 1/2 the bottle price. Ridiculous. The biggest problem Verdea has is that it is located in and owned by Embassy Suites, and it has a "hotel" feel. The room is awkward, to say the least. The restaurant is difficult to find, and I have rarely - if ever - seen it advertised. That would explain why the place was nearly deserted both times we ate there.

North PB County could really use a good upscale restaurant. Sadly, Verdea is not it.

Had a party of 10 booked and asked for a round table. I was told that they could set us up at a round table in the bar and I told them I did not want to be in the bar.
When we arrived they had us in the bar and our server was the hostess at the door. I was entertaining customers do I could not make an issue of it at the time. The service was terrible and unattentive. The food over all was not prepared well. I would not recommend this please to anyone.

After reading the reviews on Open Table we expected to see a few people dining at the restaurant. When we arrived the place as empty. That should have been a sign that all was not well. We decided to stay and take a chance on the food. We asked our server for recommendations and went with some of his suggestions. Our appetizers were slow to the table and poor in quality. Shrimp and grits was over salted, scallops were over sweet and the corn chowder was inedible. Our main course was worse. The pasta with sunday sauce was inedible, overcooked sausage, hard and dry pasta. The waygu meatloaf was overcooked and the root crusted grouper was swimming in oil. Overall an extremly poor dining experience.

Just got home from our first visit to Verdea. It will not be our last! Torry, who waited on us, was great--very engaging, always availaable but not at all intrusive. Every aspect of our experience was excellent. Glad we came--sorry we waited so long.

We went for dinner with another couple. Her meal had way too much pepper in it, and mine was just OK. My husband's pork chop was fabulous as well as the specialty meatloaf. The next day, we had to return to the hotel/rest. b/c we left our credit card. They were very accommodating and open to our suggestions on making the experience more enjoyable.

The hotel guests come down and smoke at the bar. Even though they are technically outdoors, the area is open so the entire bar and even the restaurant area smells like smoke. Food was good but prices are VERY high for a restaurant in a rather old, inexpensive, and outdated hotel. I would not go back due to the smoking alone, but couple this with the high cost and this place is surely off my list.

My fiance and I went here for the Valentine's Day Special, a $90 pp five course food and wine pairing. The Between the two of us, along with post-meal coffees and a tip for the excellent service, it totaled $250. We're in our early 30's, but both know how to enjoy a good meal. We travel quite a bit, get Aspen and other places annually and are not foreign fine dining and don't mind paying for it. That said, we were the youngest couple by at least a decade. It's in a hotel. Presentation was good but taste-wise, while definitely a step above chain restaurant, there were no dishes that popped out as mouth watering. If you're a flavor seeker, there are options nearby, with dishes that pop, for far less. I AM glad we went once, to check it out.

The appetizer and dessert choices are very creative. I chose the divers scallops, and the combination of greens and bananna glaze/dressing was excellent. The red grapefruit creme brulee was an extraordinary and tasty combination. Sadly, the entree did not match the same standard. The filet mignon was nowhere near ideal, and I cannot rate it more than mid-grade; it was there, it was ok, but not great! As for service, slightly understaffed, and while very cordial, there was some unneeded waiting for service.

Except for the desserts, which were not good at all, the food was spectacular. Dishes were creative, well prepared and generous. Gave service only 3 stars because although the effort was there, the execution was lacking. We all liked the restaurant, but found the ambiance was pretty bad. Place was nearly empty and the decor was drab.

What an amazing experience! Verdea is Palm Beach Gardens' best-kept secret. Who would suspect that such a gem would be hidden in the Embassy Suites? The menu, although not extensive, was filled with scrumptious locally grown options. The appetizers and salads were creative and delicious. The wine list was extensive and unbelievably affordable. It was quiet on a Saturday night, probably because not enough people know how much Verdea has to offer! This is our new favorite -- give it a try!

THE DINING ROOM WAS NOT THE ONE REPRESENTED ON THE WEBSITE.
IT WAS MEDIOCRE AT BEST.

A gem hidden in an unlikely location. This wonderful farm to table restaurant was a pleasant surprise to us all. Go early for a drink at their wine bar. Every bottle is availble by the glass. Knowledgable wine bar staff helps you choose a perfect cheese plate to an enjoyable pairing. We moved to the main dining room for fresh salads and duck pate to start. Their torenados of beef were done perfectly and the duck was served with a lentil dish that I'm still dreaming about. Prices are reasonable. An all around enjoyable evening.

It's such a pleasant surprise to find a great restaurant in a hotel. The bread was fabulous and the toppings (hummus, sun dried tomatoes, salted butter) were fabulous. The Caesar salad was a disappointment but our meals were delicious. I had the cobia three ways (my favorite being tempura with wasabi) and my husband had the swordfish with fennel. The presentation was eye-catching. The banana topped cheesecake was a one-of-a-kinder. Our waiter was more than competent. We'll be back.

Most reasonable wine pricing with a great selection. Interesting fresh and creative food. One complaint, entree was served too soon after appetizer. Friday night with a small crowd did not burden kitchen or wait staff.

We had a wonderful dinner. Split the Bolognase for an appitizer. My short ribs were one of the best preparations ever. Excellent sides as well. Lovely dessert. All in all, a great dining experience. We will return soon!!

In an area lacking dining with substance, Verdea & The Wine Bar stand out for their focus towards sustainable and local, while putting out solid food & an awesome wine list. Everything we tried was excellent, service was attentive, and the room is comfortable.. really all you can ask for. I would recommend this as a must try.

I had been following this restaurant via the pbpulse.com recommendation. It exceeded my expectations and I am delighted the "Taste Buds" have found a home in northern Palm Beach County. I have visited Russells Blue Water Grill with Charlie Coe and now Verdea with James King. They are doing a fabulous job. I plan on visiting the other 4 chefs with their new restaurants.

This is an extremely over-hyped restaurant with a "chef" who is probably a legend in his own mind. The menu sounds attractive and interesting but the staff don't deliver. To begin, the "wine bar restaurant experience" they advance is quickly tempered by the reality that you are dining in the restaurant attached to an Embassy Suites (mid-level business hotel chain) and the furnishings are quite ordinary. There was a nice bar area, but nobody was there... We had reservations for a group at 7:00 pm on a friday night. There was only one other table occupied when we arrived and only four more filled before we left. The bar had one couple. The food was way overpriced for the quality and the waiter was mostly clueless. Bottom Line: DON'T BOTHER!

Verdea has a great wine list and a wine bar that is perfect for a beginning to a wonderful dinner. There are so many items that I loved that I would happily return for another tour of the menu and wine list. There is some great private dining space as well and I loved that James King the chef was in the dining room chatting with us and every table. Great food, Good Service and a wonderful meal!
