WELCOME TO VERDE ON SMITH RESTAURANT, located in Brooklyn's Cobble Hill. Established in 2009 by Cono Morena, our food is rooted in the traditions of Northern Italian cuisine with a Southern accent. Only the finest organic ingredients are used for all dishes to be savored and enjoyed with our extensive wine list. Verde on smith is the marrying of Italian traditional cooking with a contemporary twist and a modern setting.
Cono Morena was born in Salerno, Italy. He moved to New York in 1968 where he began his career in restaurant management. In 1985, he opened his first restaurant, Primadonna, located in Forest Hills, Queens. Verde is a result of over 35 years experience as a chef, manager and restaurant owner in New York.

Had a reservation for 7:30. Showed up right on time but our table was not available. Rather than waiting 20 minutes for a table (we had a reservation mind you), we crammed three of us into a table for two. The host did give us a round of free drinks for our trouble, which was nice and appreciated by us. The food was very good and the service was also good. Would go back, but I do have concerns about a reservation meaning anything to them.

I booked brunch reservations at Verde on Smith in celebration of my best-friends Graduation . We arrived 10 mins before our reservation time and was seated immediately. The wait staff was prompt, service was excellent. It was great for our party of 5. The noise level was quiet/ moderate we can hear each other speak, which was a plus. Great choices for brunch meals and the many bottomless drink options were really good, the Peach Bellini was my fave. I would definitely return again.

The eggs Benedict is delicious and the home fries are very tasty. Also quite good are the mixed greens that accompany the dishes, and the dressing that sits atop the greens. For a tasty dessert, try one of the crepes - we had the one with mixed berries, and everything tasted as fresh as could be, given that it was January 1! And a very good value is the unlimited champagne/mimosas/bloody Mary, for $19.95 for 2 hours. We were encouraged to relax and really enjoy our meal here. It is a Cobble Hill treasure.

We had the most delicious dinner on New Year's eve. The service was impeccable, the ambience was perfect, there was music playing but very softly. The food was the best I have had in years! We cannot wait to return back for my birthday this month! This is a gem of a find and we are thrilled to have celebrated New Year's eve at Verde. We highly recommend this restaurant!
