Picked Verde Smith for its location. Service was between relaxed and inattentive. My Caesar salad was tasty, the bread and olives delicious but my lasagna was remarkably flavorless and very salty at the same time. My wife reported her crab cake (she left 2 of 3 served) had an unidentifiable flavor that was not welcome. The bottle of red wine was tasty if served 15 - 20 degrees warmer than ideal; nothing some ice couldn't solve. Didn't have dessert. Wouldn't go back.
The food was excellent and had a nice wine list to match. Service was a bit rushed but overall a good experience. Would definitely go back.
First time eater. Nice and appealing interior. Menu selection was good and service above good. Will return when next in area.
Took my Mom here for a early dinner. waiters were nice food was good. A little on the dark side in regards to lighting. overall a pleasant experience.
Great food and service! I highly recommend! I went with a party of 4, we each had a different dish and everyone loved their dishes.
We were in town visiting family and ate here on May 3, 2018 to celebrate an anniversary. We were seated immediately upon entering and the staff was very attentive. The food was excellent, the drinks were good and the ambiance was perfect for our group of 4. We were not rushed and the service was exceptional without being intrusive. We will definitely eat here again!
From out of state, we were visiting family in Brooklyn. We enjoyed appetizers of porteballa mushroom salad as well as the Burrata with Proscuitto. Ample servings to split among our party of 4. Very tasty. There were no complaints except serving size of the lobster and squid pasta special.....too large to finish. Other dishes enjoyed by our group were a short rib special (“meat so tender it fell off the bone” , a salmon with pasta special , and Gnocchi. All were delicious. Normally a wine consumer, I opted to try the cocktail containing pomegranate juice and vodka. Excellent. Staff were attentive yet not pushy.
We were a group of five. We were seated promptly and our servers were attentive, but not intrusive. Our orders were handled perfectly. We were not rushed. The ambiance was lovely and perfect for conversation. The food...everything that came out of the kitchen had wonderful flavor and the seafood was cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend Verde.
Food just wasn’t good. Everything else was fine.
Food and service were excellent.
On Smith Street among many shops including a butcher and a bookstore.
Friendly service, comfy atmosphere.
Perfect for a family occasion.
Had a reservation for 7:30. Showed up right on time but our table was not available. Rather than waiting 20 minutes for a table (we had a reservation mind you), we crammed three of us into a table for two. The host did give us a round of free drinks for our trouble, which was nice and appreciated by us. The food was very good and the service was also good. Would go back, but I do have concerns about a reservation meaning anything to them.
Real nice food service and everything working together.Good evening all around.
Food was excellent and with moderate priced. Waiters were friendly and helpful.
Well executed specials both for appetizer and main courses. Food was flavorful, the portions generous, and our leftovers tasted great the next day. Have already recommended to several friends.
I booked brunch reservations at Verde on Smith in celebration of my best-friends Graduation . We arrived 10 mins before our reservation time and was seated immediately. The wait staff was prompt, service was excellent. It was great for our party of 5. The noise level was quiet/ moderate we can hear each other speak, which was a plus. Great choices for brunch meals and the many bottomless drink options were really good, the Peach Bellini was my fave. I would definitely return again.
The eggs Benedict is delicious and the home fries are very tasty. Also quite good are the mixed greens that accompany the dishes, and the dressing that sits atop the greens. For a tasty dessert, try one of the crepes - we had the one with mixed berries, and everything tasted as fresh as could be, given that it was January 1! And a very good value is the unlimited champagne/mimosas/bloody Mary, for $19.95 for 2 hours. We were encouraged to relax and really enjoy our meal here. It is a Cobble Hill treasure.
We had the most delicious dinner on New Year's eve. The service was impeccable, the ambience was perfect, there was music playing but very softly. The food was the best I have had in years! We cannot wait to return back for my birthday this month! This is a gem of a find and we are thrilled to have celebrated New Year's eve at Verde. We highly recommend this restaurant!
Try the grilled octopus , it’s tender and delicious. Great place to go.
Good food and great service
The food was truly outstanding!
The lobster is the best!
there was an abundance of appetizing specials and the regular items on the menu were equally enticing
Extensive menu with choices for everyone. The specials took the guy five minutes to tell us, there were so many. The service was fairly attentive, until the place got a bit more crowded. But we were not in a hurry. I would highly recommend for a neighborhood restaurant with good food.
Great for brunch..... strong drinks, delicious food and great service!!!
Enjoyed Sunday brunch. It"s a nice cozy place, great ambiance and delicious food.
I typically enjoy the brunch and unlimited cocktail options that they have. However, on my last visit the service was a little lacking. It took some time for us to get refills on our mimosas and we had to flag down our server several times.
My friends and I had a good experience at Verde--good food, great service, and we were able to have a conversation because it wasn't too noisy.
3rd time we've eaten at Verde. Food was good, nice wine and terrific service. There were plenty of open tables so we weren't asked for our reservation. Would definitely go again.
Solid place with tasty food and good service. I got the branzino special and my date got the steak. Both very good. Good wine too. Not sure why it wasn't more crowded.
The food was ok, service was a little slow for a place that wasn't busy. Drinks were watered down, tasted like watered down juice. When we said something politely, they served us a half empty glass. Will not return to this place, not worth it at all.
I took a friend to Verde on a rainy Friday for lunch, so it was somewhat quiet, but the waiter was very attentive, and the food was wonderful, and we liked the restaurant very much.
Would like the restaurant better if it were less noisy and the staff did not forget dining requests such as getting additional drinks, etc. Also, even though the restaurant was not crowded, you got the feeling that you were being rushed to eat and leave.
I loved the restaurant when I first walked in. The egg whites scrambled were AMAZING! The peach Bellini was good 😊
Nice little neighborhood place. Best linguine and clams I've had in a long time. Service was excellent.
Food was excellent. Will be going back! Brunch was amazing
Started with the burrata and had a short rib special. Wife had a pasta dish. Both were excellent.
