Verandah at Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort
Great service! Amazing seafood and delicious dessert!!
Solid dinner. Fantastic oysters. overall good evening.
The food and service (Corey) were tremendous. But the ambiance is not good. The lighting is too bright and really takes away from an awesome menu.
Hadn’t been to Verandah in several years and remembered it as being good but this time it was spectacular! Everything was great!!
First time here and won’t be our last. Everything was exceptional from the service to the food.
The Maine Lobster was not good. The portions were very small. The lighting is terrible. Overall not s good experience.
This was the most enjoyable dining experience we've had since coming to the Amelia Island/Fernandina Beach area 3 years ago, certainly the best for seafood. My wife and I both had the "house specialty" which is their grouper with blue crab topping and it was outstanding. We also enjoyed the crab bisque soup. Richard, our server, was on the top of his game and saw to our every need. We had informed them that it was our 30th wedding anniversary and they provided a complimentary bottle of non-alcoholic wine because my wife doesn't drink alcohol. I'm very surprised that the locals don't tout this restaurant more. It almost never comes up in conversation when asking for recommendations for a nice dinner. It certainly should. A little pricey but well worth it.
Food was good; nicely spiced; cocktails good.
Service very good; meals were tasty.
Such a nice location in the Omni at Amelia Island. Staff were amazing, too. Unfortunately I was allergic to mushrooms which seemed to be in half of their dinner entrees. My husband got the butternut squash soup and then the seafood trio (which included diver scallops that were so succulent) - both were delicious, The cauliflower was AH-mazing, as well! Especially loved the amuse-bouche (single -bit appetizer) of roasted butternut squash selected by the chef was delectable! I could have eaten more of that!
Such a nice dinner all around. Really nice and relaxing.
Warm, friendly staff and fabulous food.
The service was great, the ambience was calm and inviting. I really enjoyed the food as well. It was a great date night and fairly priced.
It seems they are having a problem with enough personnel but they did a good job limiting reservations. We were initially shown to a table for 6 near the service area and asked to be moved to a window. We were seated at a much nicer table by the window and many tables remained vacant throughout our meal. Most of the food was very good. The only exception was the Ahi Tuna which was lukewarm and sinewy
Was very nice. Nothing that spectacular.
Excellent dinner with impeccable service.
Wonderful service and food was exceptional. Highly recommend the shrimp for an appetizer and red grouper as entree
Service was amazing and food was delicious!
I'v had the pleasure of eating at the Verandah previously and always enjoy it. I actually couldhave done without the numerous texts, emails, and phone calls to confirm our attendance of the reservation. I confirmed it at least 4 times.
We have always enjoyed dining at the verandah but our last visit had a disappointing aspect. I contacted the Veranda and asked the price of the corking fee and was told $15.00 which is the going rate. We brought our bottle and when we received the bill we were charged $25.00 a bit of a difference. We talked to Robert the head host and he apologized and said sometimes the people in charge make mistakes and would not give us the corking fee that was quoted. I felt that was not a proper way to handle the situation. The chef can be great, the food wonderful, the waitress wonderful but if the head person is pompous people will not return.
The staff were friendly and the food was exceptional. The portions wee plentiful.
Loved the seafood tower and bread basket served with three flavors of butter. Service was amazing as usual!
Good food.. crab cake appetizer was delicious. Red grouper-entree was very good also.. shrimp and grits were also good. I would have preferred more grits, instead if just enough to hold shrimp up
We have visited The Verandah several times over the last few years and was always impressed. So I made a reservation for my wife's 70th birthday. Everything about our visit was awful except the rolls. We we seated in an empty restaurant at a table where the windows were so cloudy (moisture between the glass panes) you could see out. Soon a mostly dead horse fly chose to die on our table. I killed it with the plastic menu. I mentioned to our waitress that a dead fly was under the menu and she might want to get rid of it. She did. She did not offer us another table (remember the restaurant is empty) nor cleaned the dead spot. My soup was warm, sent it back. My red snapper was like rubber. My wife's grouper- THEIR SIGNATURE DISH smell from the moment it was served. Obviously, the chef was trying to get rid of an old fish. We sent it back and had it taken off the bill.
The restaurant was elegantly decorated and the staff was very friendly. Our waitress was mediocre at best for this type of restaurant. We saw the busboy more than we saw her. After taking our drink order and bringing bread, we saw her twice more throughout the meal. This means we ran out of drinks and for the price that I paid for the fish, we should have been well taken care of. Secondly. The grouper was nice but certainly not $40 worth. Overall not a horrible experience but not outstanding either.
Crab Encrusted Grouper was fantastic. The Milk chocolate hazelnut dessert was a dream. My favorite of the night was the Cheesecake- goat cheese passion friut and orange segments. Kerry and Laura our servers were personable and professional and made was feel comfortable. I highly recommend .
We enjoyed this restaurant so much. The dessert was excellent! They even gave us a mini treat to take home. Definitely coming back.
Excellent service and, as others have mentioned, the grouper was delicious!
Excellent food and service. The Parmesan Crusted Grouper was OUTSTANDING. Bright dining room and attentive wait staff.
Always a wonderful time at Verandah. Their drinks and food are unparalleled.
The dinner was delicious and our service was top notch as our server was very attentive. The ambiance was to be expected for a resort restaurant as the dining area was filled with sounds and talking however not to an offending level. Great dinner but not a spot for a quite romantic wedding anniversary meal.
Haydar and Honest were amazing! We had such an amazing experience for our party of 8 with 2 children. Ambiance was great, food was excellent, top to bottom, excellent service. Wonderful dinner to close out our 1 week stay and 5th stay at Omni. Thank you!!
Delicious food and beautiful presentation . The service here is phenomenal. Highly recommended.
Food was excellent and staff was very friendly. Will definitely return when on island again.
Enjoyed a great anniversary dinner, with good food and terrific service.
Very good experience and Mary Ann was extremely wonderful.
We've been visiting Amelia Island Plantation (now the Omni Resort at Amelia) since our honeymoon in 1980. So much has changed in 39 years but dinners at the Veranda continue to be excellent. Whether you prefer steaks or seafood you won't be disappointed. For an extra-special treat, choose the crab-encrusted grouper entree which has been on the menu for nearly thirty years. It's truly an exquisite dish. Verandah will continue to be one of our first dinner stops every time we're at the Plantation.
Wonderful food and service. We enjoyed the experience and the chef is very talented with seafood.
From the moment we walked in until we left was a wonderful experience. The Red Grouper was amazing. Service was fabulous! She knew the menu and was delightful to talk with.
We are foodies. Pure and simple. Verandas service was superb and the food excellent. From the moment we walked in the door and were greeted by the maître d’ , we knew we were in for a special treat. Excellent food and the service was on par with any fine dining venue we have frequented. It doesn’t get any better than that.
End of a vacation
Our dinner tonight at Verandah was outstanding! From the tuna appetizer to the swordfish to the grits, the food was amazing. The service made our night even better as the staff, especially Haydar, took care of our every need. Highly recommend for anyone in Amelia!
