Verandah at Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort
We always enjoy the food, but the noise level is our only complaint generally. This time, we were early enough to avoid it. I wish you would bring back the house salad the old Verandah used to serve - it was the best!
It was a quiet off season night. The service was outstanding and the meals incredible.
Everything was superb, especially the food and service. Everything is fresh and memorable! Highly recommend this restaurant!
We had the grouper and red snapper. They were both very good and the portions were just about right. The sides were a bit small but the food was very tasty and the service great.
We were celebrating my sister's Birthday. Allyson was our server and was very sweet and knowledgeable about menu .
I had the red snapper which was delicious and cooked perfectly with a light crunch on outside and flaky on inside.
My sister had the salmon and she said it was great as well!
We shared an order of roasted basamic cauliflower and broccoli. Great as well .
Since it was my sister's birthday she was offered a free dessert, she chose the key lime pie which we shared and it was slightly tart with a roasted meringue/marshmallow topping very good,
Would highly recommend for dinner.
A 6 ounce piece of grouper with no sides for $38 is not a good value.
Very disappointed with the food and also the atmosphere...will not go back....very average with high quality prices.
Great restaurant. Great value. The only concern I had was access to the restaurant. It was hard to get to and from. I would work on signage and improving access. Otherwise, you have winner!!!
Had a wonderful thanksgiving meal there. Food was fantastic.
We arrived on the island late in the afternoon on Thanksgiving Day, and searched online for a restaurant that could fit us in for dinner. OpenTable showed one two-person slot left for Verandah, which we reserved gratefully. What a stroke of luck! Everything was wonderful. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious and perfectly portioned, and it was a lovely experience all the way around. What impressed us most was how friendly yet professional everyone was. We will definitely return next time we visit Amelia Island!
Overall great Thanksgiving 3 course fixed menu with good choices. They need something to bring down the noise level it was the loudest I have ever experienced.
Thanksgiving Day was also my Birthday. We had a very pleasant day, even though I could not be with family
This year. I would definitely recommend the Verandah to friends and anyone else who asked.
Food was amazing . We dined here for Thanksgiving . The quality and selection of items offered was inspired and was delicious as it was attractive on the plate. The beet and corn pancake amuse bouche was a wonderful way to begin meal. Entree choices included, traditional turkey, steak, and fish. Three desserts were only offered and were all equally delicious . My favorite being the bread pudding with praline ice cream.
food and service was excellent. Very accommodating of my family's special allergy needs.
we were disapponted with our main course which was their signature dish, crab crusted grouper . it was somewhat dry and not flavorful. However, the cornbrwad and scones were very food, and the service was friendly and excellent
Really enjoyed our evening with friends. The staff pays attention to details. Lovely atmosphere.
My husband and I ate here. We were sick all night long afterward.
My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous romantic dinner. It was the perfect start to our vacation. The shrimp and grits appetizer was delicious! We loved the wedge salad and perfectly done steak. The service was attentive and friendly. We give our highest recommendation!
Michael was fantastic and made wonderful recommendations!
Kitchen timing was off compared to other visits. Mgmt made up for it but totally disrupted the evening.
Service was very good, food ok but pricey as expected. The menu is limited and has shrunk, some very good entrees I liked in the past, such as pecan crusted flounder, fried shrimp not there.
Fourth time visiting this convenient and formerly great venue for dinner. What started as a wonderful celebration dinner ended on a sour note. The service was great when the restaurant was half full, but failed at the easiest step when a desert order took over 30 minutes and was finally cancelled. If you want to have a conversation at your table, and not spend 3 hours for dinner, don't go here. However, great food if you are ok with significant background noise and slow service at busy times.
Fun place to eat and a reservation is always recommended, but it's a little pricy for what they offer. Service is a little slow and the large group's were extremely loud! However, the staff is nice and they went above and beyond to help us enjoy our anniversary.
It was great. The food was wonderful and the service excellent.
We visited for our honeymoon in April the food and the service was so good even met the mgr Robert whom was and outstanding person we enjoyed it so much we returned this weekend for my birthday the food and service were still amazing but I was so disappointed that Robert had the night off was really looking forward to seeing him I guess I'll just have to visit again
We had been to this restaurant before and had a very nice dinner, so we thought we would go back. This time, the food was below average, the service was very slow and gave us little attention, and the noise was quite loud. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Problem with reservation system made for a very negative experience. Despite confirmation from open table the hostess proceeded to tell us that we had to wait about an hour for a table if she could even manage that. I should also mention there were at least three empty tables the entire time we waited. Bar was jammed packed. Only one bartender for the restaurant and the bar. Management was bussing tables instead of making the customers feel welcome. Food was great and service was great by a waiter who eerily looked like Charlie Sheen! They could’ve made the experience better by sending dessert or buying a drink.
The salad was not good. We told the waitress why we sent it back. We were still charged for it when the bill came. Not good practice to encourage customers to return
The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I do believe they were understaffed however. It was a Sunday evening. The dirty martini’s were amazing! The grouper was good however I would recommend a different side pairing than the mashed potatoes, perhaps some crunch from green beans instead. The blackened Mahi-mahi was nice as well. Overall a great experience!
It was very good. The local shrimp grilled with a vegetable was very tasty. The peach dessert was good as well. The waiter we had was outstanding; very knowledgeable of the wines and the source of the food we received. He was a young man from Turkey, I believe. Even surprised us with some popcorn with honey ... can't beat that.
The food was amazing. The staf was understanding of food allergies.
Our entire party had wonderful food and a fun time. We were made to feel special and received excellent service. We plan to return next year.
Absolutely phenomenal food, service, wine and ambiance. So glad we dined here
We had Kerry as a waiter and he ensured that we had an amazing time at this restraunt. It was our first time revisiting the restaurant after being turned away for not having reservations by a rude hostess. The trip back definitely made up for the previous hostess and the new hostess that was up front was outstanding. If you visit ask for Kerry or Michael as waiters as they are both service minded and will take amazing care of you during your visit.
One of our favorite restaurants on Amelia Island. Very consistent for food, drinks & service. Our meals are always delicious and the service is always great. The waitstaff is friendly, attentive & knowledgeable. The bartenders make a GREAT drink. We highly recommend this spot.
Nice quiet evening.
Server spoke fast and with low sound level so hard to understand.
Server did not check after bringing food.
Seems like supervision may be light or absent.
I don't think I've ever given a two-star review, but I think this one is important. Our server was lovely. It was not her fault that the appetizer deviled eggs were over-the-top salty. She tried it herself in the kitchen, and the chef altered the batch for the rest of the evening. We were compensated for this. My meal was $25 ala cart Seafood Carbonara. The taste of this dish was totally fine, but there might have been a cup of pasta and six bites of seafood...no sides. Seriously, it barely covered the bottom of the bowl. My sister had scalloped potatoes that were not cooked through. Three of us ordered the $20 dessert (five samplings). The pecan tart was good, but three of the other desserts tasted stale, old, and as if they had absorbed each other's flavors. The highlight was their bread basket. The scones and muffins were delicious. Wish the whole meal could have been as delicious as we were expecting, especially for the prices charged.
A disappointing dinner. While it wasn't bad, it wasn't good. The deviled eggs appetizer were really salty as was the shrimp and grits dinner. My wife had the "Signature" grouper dinner (but they were out of Grouper). Overall it was a underwhelming experience.
Best cooked fish I've had in this area. I had the mahi-mahi and my wife had swordfish steak. Both were perfectly prepared. Dining area had a nice ambiance, that made one feel at ease. Serving staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, a very nice dining experience.
Excellent service and great food. Looking forward to our next visit.
