We went to the restaurant and it is located in a really neat outdoor type shop area of Carefree. It had an art showing the night we went. We just missed their happy hour but still decided to try their deviled eggs that have a special jam inside them that was delicious. Their menu has some very interesting takes on some standard foods and also some more traditional fare. I had the Chicken Shnitzel that I really loved and my significant other had the Penne with Vodka sauce with Chicken which I really liked the taste as well. Good portions, nice wine list, they had live music that night and the waiter was friendly with a very punny sense of humor.
The food is good, but the service was ridiculously slow. There were very few people at the restaurant, but nonetheless it took over an hour to get our food. And we rarely had the server ask if we needed refills of water, drinks, etc. I have been to this place before and was very disappointed in the service. And, although the food was good, but it used to be better. I do not think I will be going back.
Sit at the bar. The waitresses are horrible .
You won't be checked in at Venue's.
Double check your bill!
Great short ribs, nice staff, very pleasant
This restaurant on "the circle/square" in downtown Carefree is really good. It has the ambiance of an auto repair garage and a mini-sized front patio, but the food and generous portions make up for it. I had sloppy joe and it was abundant and delicious. My wife had chicken salad she praised, too. After lunch, it's convenient to window shop in the shops and galleries of Carefree. All in all we really like Venue's.
Had the short ribs which were good but a bit salty, the French onion soup was even a little saltier but otherwise tasty. Loved the eggplant caprese appetizer. Service was a bit slow and at the end I had to get somebody to get my waitress for the check.
After waiting for ten minutes the service was adequate. The Dip was terrible, dry shearded beef with about a ounce ofau jus, took two bites and left the rest.
Great food combined with great personable service. I have been here many times and I have never been disappointed.
Good happy hour, but overpriced. Skimpy wine pours.
Venues used to be a favorite of ours, but the last couple of visits have been very disappointing. The food wasn't very good and took over 35 minutes after we ordered. I don't think I'll be coming back again in the near future.
Went for a couple of glasses of wine on a Tuesday night. Pretty empty @8:30.
Great wine selection with reasonable prices. I ordered cheesecake....wow! Amazing!...more than large enough to share. Nice and cool and firm. One of the best I've ever had.
Great service behind the bar too! Go....
Three of us ate a Venue's Café and before the evening was out all three of us were sick. We all had the same problem and felt fine the next day. Nothing a trip to the bathroom didn't cure. Will not eat here again and cannot recommend for anyone else to go there
This place did not meet my expectations. The food was ok though nothing to get excited about and the service was fine. I won't go again
We were only there for a light meal. French onion soup had strong flavor but without the rich nuttiness and complexity that a good example has. Fried calamari was good and had a good asian-inspired sauce to accompany. Waitress forgot an order of a bbq pork slider--had to request a second time. When it came, it was way overdone on the "smoke"--pretty sure they added smoke seasoning to it. Chicken-topped dinner salad was nondescript.
Took my parents here for Christmas dinner. Two of us ordered Caesar salads, but that was most definitely not Caesar dressing, as it was sweet. The best thing I can say about it is that the lettuce was very fresh and green. The service was irritating. We watched our waitress chatting and flirting with a table of guys while we sat waiting for our check. We finally had to flag down another waitress to pay.
It's a pretty place, and they have some beautiful artwork. Just not good food or service.
My husband and I discovered Venues about three years ago and have been customers since. It is nice to know that there is an actual CHEF doing the cooking and presenting occasional specials and a holiday menu. The food is very good and the setting in downtown Carefree is relaxed and pleasant. One can dine indoors or out, and there is even a patio heater for the hard-core al fresco diners. And, of course, there are excellent wine and specialty cocktails to be had. The casual atmosphere is welcoming. I am happy to recommend Venues.
Waitress was very nice being she was working Christmas Eve. But that is all I can say good about the Resturant. Food was mediocre, wine list marginal.
Hamburger overcooked, fries mushy and white wine warm. You be the judge!
