Easy to get in and food & service were very good.
The carne asada nachos are so good! The meat is very tender and the beans, cheese, etc. is mixed in throughout the entire plate.
Incredible view during the day. Beautiful interior during the evening. Great and unique dishes, reasonable prices, excellent service.
We had a lovely dinner last night. The service was great and the view fantastic. Enjoyed watching sunset from our table.
This is our favorite restaurant ever! It never disappoints. Food is amazing. Very elevated experience.
A really nice view! We enjoyed a birthday lunch, everything was good!
Dishes are smaller, prices are higher and we were extremely disappointed with the experience this time. Ventana Grill was one of our favorite places to go.
Food was marginal compared to previous visits. Service was excellent
Great Mocajeta. Coconut Halibut missed the mark. Arie is a great young server but needs some training on wine service.
Was for my fiance's birthday, the food, service, and view were excellent! Our server was great, definitely recommend this place.
Great service, good food, awesome margaritas, and a view that cannot be beat.
Food was good waiter was rude
Good food but limited menu… definitely not for the health conscious… eat and enjoy…
Been to Ventanas many times in last 11 yeaars. If this had been 1st time there, I would never go back.
My daughter and I Ordered Pipian Sea Bass.
It was a terrible meal.
Fish tasted like it was cooked in old , overused, foul oil. Spinach was tasteless, could not taste the tequila in the soaked apricots.
I could not get rid of that old foul tasting oil the fish was cooked in, in fact I felt sick the rest of the evening after eating that meal.
Only good thing was tortillas and beans & rice.
I usually LOVE Ventana, and really hate to "dis" them in these COVID times but . . . right off the bat, the women's bathroom was a MESS. Perhaps this is due to staffing problems, as the restaurant itself also seemed unable to utilize all tables at 2pm on Sunday, even with folks patiently waiting. So after my icky visit to the restroom, we were seated for a LONG time before getting water or menus. Our server, Jessica was GREAT! And the food did not disappoint: my partner dubbed the "wedge salad" possibly the best he has ever had. So - note to management: have someone in charge of bathroom cleanliness, and someone else in charge of turning over tables with efficiency! I look at the problems as management problems for sure.
There was a hair in the ketchup served with our food. Our Server basically forgot about us for most of our meal. Once she finally did come over to check on us, we let the server know and her response was, “can I get you another ketchup”? DISGUSTING! Not only that, she took one plate and left the plate with the hair in it for the rest of our entire meal. We didn’t even finish our meal because it made us sick thinking about it and having the constant visual in front of us at the table. COME ON! Seriously? A person has to have more common sense than that? Do they not train their employees? I was a server for over 10 years. This was simply unacceptable for such a higher end restaurant. I doubt I will return, which is unfortunate, since I’ve brought many people there on several occasions.
Great service from our server, good advice on food and drink as we are not experts in Mexican based cuisine.
Portion size was huge, a main course would have been good for me.
Table now booked for tonight, let’s give it another go.
Ventana is our go to for wonderful freshly prepared food and the most magnificent ocean views!! We visit frequently ❤️
The waiter we had was the worst. Broke the cork in a bottle of expensive wine we brought. Not attentive to the dirty dishes nor his customers. Won't go
Superb, as usual. We never miss dining here when we vacation in the area! Never disappoints and the views are to die for! Just go!
Shrimp cocktail was the best I’d ever had! Server was pleasant although when we asked about specials, he said there weren’t any…yet 5 minutes later we heard another server offer several specials to the next table. Not horrible but made us wonder…
This is my go-to spot when visiting Pismo Beach. The food and bar is top notch and the view of the Pacific Ocean from the dining area is gorgeous. If you are looking for a classy place for American, Mexican, or seafood, it doesn’t get better.
I have loved this restaurant for years. SO disappointed. From the hostess to the waitress to the manager to the quality and quantity of food it all took a tremendous dive.
Awesome view of the coastline. Great service. Had the clams. Very nice. Clam chowder tasted great but was too thick.
Delicious food and wonderful service.
We showed up five minutes before our reservation time and it took twenty minutes before they even seated us. The Molcajete was over salted to almost inedible. My wife’s seafood pasta was very average. The ambiance was great and our server was very nice. We would try again to see if they were having an off night due to staffing shortages.
Great view, atmosphere, service and food!
The food was great, we ate so much that we hurt ourselves. We still had to take our meals out in boxes. It was a wonderful experience.
Although the food was good, service was very slow. We had reservations for 4:00, but we had to wait about 15-20 minutes to be seated. Then we sat another 20 minutes before we were waited on. Will let it go by this time, as perhaps they are short on staff.
We were celebrating our 30 year anniversary. Food was very good, views were amazing!! Above all else, our server “Jazzy” was extraordinary!! She made our first experience so special !!
Great food great service… Bonus is Fresh made homemade corn tortillas made with beautiful ladies making them infront of us!!
Perfect view of the sunset. Shrimp cocktail was amazing and very filling. Halibut was light and flavorful. Sailor Jerry plantains were scrumptious.
Check sunset times and plan accordingly!
The food, service and ambiance are outstanding! We love that the ceviche is served on romaine, with chips on the side. So fresh and delicious! The sea bass in pipian is incredible, as are the enchiladas. But one could bliss out with just the fresh tortillas and a bowl of the amazing beans. The sangria is lovely and delicious. And of course this whole experience is in a beautiful room with the best view in town.
CONS: The light over our table was very bright. The mask policy is so ridiculous. Stand up to that Hipocracy. Only one tortilla per person is rude, then charging them to have an extra one. That was your charm and now you’ve ruined it a little bit.
Your reservation policy in opentable only allows reservations for 2 people. You have an a nice restaurant. Why not accommodate larger parties so people know they can come?
PROS: Food was excellent. Our food server was excellent.
It was for a 30 anniversary had a great widow seat but there was a child in the seat before us and had hand prints all over the window it was hard to watch the sunset with all the stuff on the window we asked the server if she could clean it or give me a towel to clean it so she did we were never offered anything to celebrate our anniversary like some of the comments I had read when Making the reservation in fact we were charged for two of my husbands drinks when he only ordered one so we had to ask them to fix that also we have eaten here many times it was sad to try and celebrate with all the things that had happened 30 years these day is something to celebrate
Service was lacking. Our entrees came out 2 minutes after our appetizers and server said nothing. We finished our meal and sat with empty plates for 15 minutes. Server came o er and asked if we wanted dessert, we said no and he walked away. We stacked our dishes and pushed them to the side and they sat there for 27 additional minutes. I understand that places are understaffed, but this was more than that. The food was delicious and the bartenders were awesome. Would recommend and hope that the service is better because the view and food are amazing!
We often come to Ventana's - whether it's just the 2 of us or with a group of family or friends. Never been disappointed with the food or service. When the weather is nice, the view is spectacular - as good as anywhere we've been (and they are within 4 miles of our home!).
Ventana Grill is ALWAYS my first choice. The view is breathtaking from any table and the menu choices are wonderful. I have always enjoyed the servers and they are following rules and wearing masks!! Very important.
Excellent food, excellent service and outstanding view
Food was just ok. Service was slow. Not as good as we thought it would be.
