Venice Ristorante & Wine Bar Ratings and Reviews
I have been to this restaurant many times and it's always been fantastic. However, we went on Valentine's day and it wasn't up to par with our past visits. Service was slow, due to it being very busy but still....They had a "special" menu and many of us enjoyed our meals but those that ordered the seafood lasagna said it was so dry that it was almost inedible. I like this restaurant but probably won't go back on a holiday.
From the moment we arrived, we were treated kindly. The wait staff was excellent. Our waitress assisted in wine and food selections, and she was spot on. The food was home made and so delicious prepared with fresh ingredients. the wine selection was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Denver.
I was under pressure to find a restaurant that would accommodate the various dietary needs of my sales team but also impress the President of the company. On top of that I needed to find a restaurant who's menu was moderately priced. Not an easy task. I came across Venice on Opentable and the reviews intrigued me. The one worry I had was about the reviews I saw with regard to their service. I went ahead and booked a reservation. I don't normally write reviews but I wanted other's to know the food was amazing and Corey or server (spelling not sure) was outstanding!
This is the 2nd time we have been here since NYE. We have never disappointed. Had the lasagna this time and it was delicious. Also tried the Tiramisu for dessert. It is the best that I have tasted in a long time. We will definitely be back. Next time I plan to try the dessert cannoli. Very impressed as usual and satisfied.
Our niece was visiting from out of town with a friend and after a day of exploring Denver, this was a great place to go. We had a party of 5 and was sat at a round table, perfect for catching up. We had a bottle of red and our niece and her friend had a bottle of white, both delicious!
Get the Caesar salad. Not only delicious, but presentation is stunning. The parmesan bowl is not only beautiful but a must taste. My cioppino had a rich, deep, flavor with the fish and seafood perfectly cooked.
Go on a date, Go for a business meeting, Go to catch up with family and friends, just Go!
We enjoyed my husband's birthday celebration dinner at Venice! Venice is our favorite restaurant for special occasions, and many dinners in between! Dennis mixed his usual superb martinis. My Super Tuscan wine was outstanding. Chef Christian prepared elegant appetizers of Northern Italian, paper-thin, sliced dried beef for us. That was followed by our entrees of Rigatoni Salsiccia and Scampi Limone. All food is beautifully presented, and tastes so delicious. In addition to our favorite dishes, there are new, innovative creations as well. The tiramisu is the best in Denver, and better than the tiramisu we've enjoyed in San Francisco's North Beach! Our service team, led by Angelica, anticipated our every need. The team was top-notch! In addition to the wonderful dinners, Venice has the best Happy Hour in Denver! Enjoy!
Have had two wonderful lunches here recently. The wait staff was excellent and the wine program , as well . Veal was wonderful , as was the calamari , and mussels . The Feudi wines paired beautifully . Eric Carter was a most personable and effecient Manager and Sommelier. I heartily reommend the Wynkoop/ Union Station location .
My friends and I were very impressed with Venice. The service was superb and all of our meals were amazing. We were visiting from out of state, but this is a place that you can go to ten times and get a different meal every time. The pasta, chicken, salad, etc. were all fantastic.
great food and ambiance, but really slow service. We were dressed casually and had young women with us, many for whom this was a big deal, but it seems staff didn't take us seriously and provide the care and attention we deserved. My money is just as green as the next guy's, so that was a mistake.
The food was delicious and the service fantastic! We are definitely going to do this again for another date night. Neither one of us could stop raving about how great it was. We were pleasantly surprised that the bill came in under what we thought it would be. Haven't had this great of a date night in awhile. Thank you.
Great food as always. Love the warm spinach salad and anything salsicca. Looking forward to trying the lasagna. One of the best places for happy hour, late night HH too. You won't find their happy hour times anywhere online nor their website. Just call and ask.
We typically frequent the Venice restaurant in the Tech Center. I has been a while since we dined downtown. The staff are not as friendly as we are accustom to out south. The new GM did not stop by any of the tables that we noticed (and this was a Saturday night). The wait staff seemed pre-occupied. Food was good. Service was definitely lacking.
NYE dinner at Venice that was a bit overwhelmed by its patrons. Sat after an hour past reservation time. Lobster bisque was the highlight. No spoon to eat it with though, or napkins given with silverware. Main entrees were bland, no Parmesan offered for pasta or cracked pepper for salad. Waitress was nice and accommodated for the downfalls by finding the missing items or having them brought quickly but other than repeated apologies, no true attempt at guest service recovery. Overall, full from dinner but not fully content with the service or food. At that point it was just sustenance. Not the restaurants fault completely for the delay in seating, many patrons lingered and backed up reservations but some diners could easily be seen playing games on their phones long after their dinner plates were cleared. In summary: great idea and concept for a NYE dinner with a wonderful ambiance with the glass enclosed wine cellar — poor execution.
Went for New Years Eve and made reservation well in advance. They way overbooked the night. We waited 45 minutes for our table. They were very busy but they should have expected and been more prepared. Waitress was friendly but very inattentive. Had to ask for water refills, entrée came out well before we were done our appetizers. No check on if we needed anything in a timely manner, missed salt and pepper on table and/or fresh ground pepper on salad. Waitress was no where to be found when we needed her although we noticed a table of four young men were getting plenty of her attention. Saw other diners being seated at tables still full of previous diners dirty dishes. Was a good meal but not the "nice" evening for NYE that we envisioned. We felt hurried, rushed and unimportant and it was a special evening for all diners. However, the food was excellent. We enjoyed our evening but they should have been more prepared for the night.
Our reservation was at 7:30pm. We arrived at 7:20 and checked in with the host. It was packed and you could tell they overbooked themselves. We waited...and waited. We checked back in every 10-15 minutes for updates while we watched the woman seat some people that checked in after we did for the same time reservation! We didn't get seated until 8:30! I will say our waitress, Crystal, was great. The wait time, hostess (who was clearly annoyed and overworked) and the packed waiting area made our overpriced meal even less worth it.
We had a 7:15 reservation and we were not seated until almost 8:00! I can’t be certain but it appeared that at least one walk-in party of two was seated in front of us. The 45 minute delay caused us to miss an event that we were planning to attend. When we checked in we were told it would be 5 or 10 minutes before we would be seated. We will give the restaurant one more chance as the food and service was good.
