   What do I say when people ask me what my favorite restaurant is in Denver? Venice across from Union Station! Always has been since they opened, I must have dined there over 50 times over the years. Never once was I disappointed. My husband and I have dined all over the world and we always search for the best carpaccio. No one anyway can do it as wonderfully as Venice. Love this place!

   We did a Rockies Pre Game dinner, early, 4:30, and the staff was ready for it! A bit too crowded on the tables, and a bit on the loud side, but everyone had a good time. The Mahi Mahi special seemed a bit on the old side, not very tender, and showed some evidence of being a bit too old. But tasty. The staff will bend over backwards to serve whatever you may desire, I did a side of spaghetti with red Marinara which was outstanding. The wine list is one of the best around, and very carefully selected, with some rather special varietals available. Waiters are attentive and kind. And since this seating was out the door before 6:30, it is great for getting tuned up for the real evening meal. Overall, a super time, and only 3 blocks from Coors Field.

   Louis, our waiter, was amazing. We were there celebrating a graduation for our soon to be son-in-law at Lockheed Martin, aerospace, engineering, leader, ship program, and he made us, our family feel very special, and even rewarded us with lemon cello. When we go back, we will absolutely asked to sit in Louis’s section!!! The food was amazing, our wine was so good and his recommendations were spot on.

   We celebrated my wife’s birthday at Venice last night. Really great experience, with incredible food and service. The owner, Lino couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating! The wine list is extensive and the meatball appetizer was outstanding! My wife has the filet and I had seafood pasta. Everything was amazing! Highly recommend!

   The food was delicious. We were a group of 7 with different orders and all were excellent. The appetizer size is generous and the wine was exceptional. The service was a bit slow at the beginning but after the food was served the wait staff was very attentive.

    Our meal was amazing! The chicken piccata was delicious. We had a very tasty calamari appetizer and incredible dirty martini. The service is probably the best we’ve had in a long time, compared to other restaurants. I highly recommend going if you like Italian food!

    My party of 5 dined at Venice Ristorante & Wine Bar on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 6pm. We had reservations and were sat immediately at a bright, comfortable table and greeted pleasantly by our server, Sean. Sean quickly tended to our drinks while we looked over the menu and asked us if we were interested in bread? He explained that the restaurant now asks to avoid bread waste and how they’ve managed an 80% drop in wasted bread by asking this simple question rather than just putting it on the table. Great policy which I applaud as our table as a whole did not want bread. When I asked for one piece with my dinner that wasn’t a problem at all. After our drinks arrived we ordered the Calamaretti e Zucchine Fritte as a starter to share for 3 of our diners. They all said it was perfectly cooked and tasty. It was a generous portion yet disappeared so quickly I have to believe them! Our mains were: Lasagne Bolognese, Gnocchi Primavera, Scaloppine Marsala, Galletto Caprese, and Scampi Pomodora e Manta. My husband had the Lasagne and as a self-described lasagne expert, described it as interesting and delicious. He would order it again. I had the Scaloppine Marsala which was an absolutely huge portion of veal, with root vegetables and a side of Angel hair pasta. The sauce was perfect and the veal just tasty and wonderful. My friend who ordered the Scamp was very pleased with her meal as well and enjoyed the multitude of flavors in her dish. The others had this to say: the Gnocchi, just a bit too dense but still tasty, and the Galetto Capresse was nice overall but the chicken was slightly over cooked. The ambiance is just lovely. A perfect date night or special occasion spot. Exceptionally clean, bright and located by Union Station. Easy to get to. The service cannot be faulted. The portions are so generous none of us had room for dessert which was a shame as the dessert menu was very inviting and tempting. We will be back again perhaps for lighter meals so we can indulge!

    I was not expecting this restaurant to be so good! Everything we ordered was on point, from the seasonal pear salad, to the caprese with GIANT fresh basil leaves, to the most wonderful cheese-stuffed ravioli, to a mushroom-cream-filet-topped homemade farfalle. Not only was the food exception, for downtown Denver, it was extremely affordable. It's literally the first restaurant I feel comfortable to recommend since moving to Denver 6 months ago.

    After trying several Italian restaurants around Denver; I am so glad to have found this one. By far the best Italian cuisine that sticks true to traditional flavours. Out of this world food and service to match. Wine selection is premium and well curated - with a decent Italian showing. Can’t wait to go back.

    The food and service was great as always! My minor complaint was that our table was up against a column with a curtain, which was up against my body, arm, and seat throughout our time at the table. The table could have been moved less than a foot forward in order to have avoided this while setting up the dining area. Overall, this was a wonderful second visit to Venice!

    At check in the hostess was a little overwhelmed even though no one was really in the restaurant yet but all went well. The waiter was awesome he was attentive to our needs.     Service was impeccable. And the outdoor seating was very beautiful. Management asked if we were celebrating anything which we were celebrating our anniversary. They then brought out a dessert and two limoncellos on the house. Amazing service and will leave a lasting memory of their kindness and great food forever!

    We visited in Mother’s Day. We were seated right away, but it took quite a long time before someone came around with water or to take drink orders. Bread was complimentary but came out a long time after we sat down. The single sheet paper menu had “Happy Mother’s Day” across the top, but we had to ask for a wine list and were eventually brought an iPad that contained the list. We had our 2 year old with us to celebrate the day. There were several kids in the restaurant, but ours was the youngest. They were accommodating and had a high chair but no kids menu. There were several times when the staff sort of overlooked him, such as when they came to collect the extra table setting items after the bread was brought out. They tried to take items such as silverware and bread plates that my son would need. They also seemed confused when I asked if the tiramisu had alcohol. Some places do and some don’t, but they looked blankly at me until I mentioned that my child could not have any of it had alcohol (it did) and I would need to order him a different dessert. The food was fantastic. I had ravioli and my wife had the gnocchi. Portions were a little on the small side, but that was not a surprise for the type of location. I would go again, but probably only for a special occasion.

    First, we had a reservation for 3. We were nicely greeted. We were going to be placed at a table for 6 which was far too big of a table. When I asked to be placed at a 4-top we were told they were holding the 4-tops to be able to push them together for a larger party if they needed it. While the host was “checking to see if we could have a 4/top” another family came in with 4 people and the second host was going to seat them at 1 of the available 4-tops. Ultimately we were seated. The restaurant was not busy. The waitress took multiple requested to take a drink noted and never asked if wanted another drink when our glasses were empty. She failed to check to see if our food was in good order and was quick to put the bill down without asking if we wanted desert or coffee. When we did get a waiters attention yo get coffee, decaf was not offered or available. A most disappointing experience.

    Not going back! horrible service from waitress, other employees were rude and they charged us $1.50 PER PERSON for the bread they dropped on our table that we didn't ask for. We used to love it there, but now that they threw a damp blanket on our mothers day celebration we will not return. Many items were overpriced. They try to trick you into ordering full meals for your kids because they don't seat you with a kids menu......but they have them. we will take our business to a place that can appreciate their customers.

    The food was excellent. The issue I had was we had a reservation and the restaurant was not crowded but they unitary sat us right on the stairs where the chair sticks out and everyone has to walk past you. I asked if there were anywhere else we could sit so they sat us at a table right next to where silverware and drinks are. It was bad tables especially when the restaurant wasn’t crowded.

    Disappointed in the experience. Seated outside next to a very very load party of 4. That clearly had a bit to many adult beverages. Wait staff acknowledged they were being obnoxious but would not relocate us or ask the group to keep it down a little. A person in the party even said “sorry I know we are really loud. Nice waiter but he never returned. Asked for butter for the bread 3 times, never showed up. We never even got a chance to order dinner we Left after the appetizer and had to ask a different person to ask our waiter for the check. Not good.

    We had a little table snafu but the owner (I think) and the servers quickly fixed the problem. They were amazing and it didn’t spoil the evening. Such a great place and amazing food. Our son was here for school and will be leaving Denver and this is exactly what we enjoyed as our last night here. Do yourself a favor and go get some great Italian food right here!!!

    Extremely crowded & noisy environment and inattentive staff. 25 minutes after we were seated we finally got our drinks (ordered drinks and bread (up charge) when we sat down) not our bread. Drinks were weak. Bread finally showed. Caesar salad was soaked in dressing-soggy. For a restaurant that specializes in veal dishes, I was astonished how bad the Milanese was. Forget about the rest of the plate, the veal was pounded so thin the breadcrumbs that were fried with it made it invisible.

    Absolutely loved our dinner here. We brought our 1 year old daughter and met up with family to celebrate her bday and another event. All the servers were prompt, friendly and very knowledgeable and the manager even sent a little surprise to cap off the evening.
