Very disappointed with the food and the service. NYE dinner was sadly a bust.
If you like old school Italian, this is the real deal. If not, try their prime rib special.
This spot never disappoints, the food is the best in Westerly. I love the pasta dishes most as I am nearly a vegetarian. The eggplant parm appetizer is better than I've found in Chicago and believe me, Chicago is known for their restaurants and good eating! :) I found the grilled romaine is simple but really interesting. I always get this dish for the table to share. Ricotta cheesecake is a must to top off a great meal.
We have a group of us that have been coming here annually because we have been anywhere between 11 to 26 people. They had always been great with giving us separate checks which is one of the reasons we keep coming back. Our waiter James was seemed a little off when we asked we wanted separate checks. He gave us each a number (which we have done in prior years to keep the checks straight) but even with this, there were mistakes. To avoid having him having to change the bills, we took care of it among ourselves giving the money to the person who was charged in error. It took a very long time to get our drinks and food from the raw bar. All in all the food was good we just could have used better service.
Food was good. Drinks were good but came out one at a time. We were 11 people. No problem getting in but restaurant was empty. Waiter was not accommodating and confused. Will not recommend
My daughter is getting married and I invited my sisters, nieces and their daughters to celebrate with her by having dinner, dessert (cake I brought) and opening a few gifts. There were 12 in total. Our server was Lou, he was fantastic, he was personable and remembered everyone's names. Wish they had a better wine selection though. Highlight was the food, it was delicious and everything cooked perfectly. Lobster scampi, stuffed lobster, swordfish, clams over linguine, etc everyone enjoyed it. We opened gifts, had cake and although we were in the middle of the restaurant and it was busy we were given great service. The decor is a bit dated but otherwise, clean and staff was excellent.
The meal took over an hour and half to get to us. The only one who seemed concerned about this was the waitress. We spoke to the manager, owner and chef who all seemed ambivalent about our wait and the fact that we had plans for after dinner.
They did comp our drinks and the food was good once we received it. Its too bad that they were so poorly managed/organized.
We had a very nice meal. When we checked in the young women had no idea about open table and said ok but walked away. I had to tell the manager my name so he could check me in. It still took over a week and two emails to open table to get credit for our meal, which as I said before was very good. We started with calamari that was served with a chili sauce that was great. Very fresh served piping hot and very flavorful. Chicken parmigiana and back stuffed shrimp for dinner, both outstanding. We left room for desert of tiramisu. Outstanding overall dining experience that was made better by our server Haley.
Venice restaurant was a wonderful experience for our group of 11. We had plans for a small group for dinner which grew to a larger group when we met some family in the afternoon, our original restaurant couldn't accommodate our enlarged group. We contacted Venice and they were exceptional in making things work for us. The service was excellent, the food was very good and timely with such a large group.
I would recommend a visit for small group or large group, and would certainly consider for a larger event with the friendliness and flexibility they showed in caring for us.
I made dinner reservations for my husbands birthday. It was recommended for its great seafood options and raw bar. When we got there, there was no lobster nor salmon available. Very disappointed!!!
