I had not been to Venetia for about a year ago and was very impressed with the upgrade to food and presentation. We had a server I had in the past who I always felt was very professional and continues in that style. I always forget to take pictures of the food and we all wanted to begin enjoying what had been delivered to the table. The appetizers all were very good and gorgeous. Two of us had the veal osso boca (great), two had the balsamic short ribs (the meat had already fallen off the bone) and received great reviews and one person had the veal saltamboca which she was very happy with. The deserts were also great. We enjoyed our water view and the opportunity to dine with my niece from California and her sister, her cousin and my husband. We will be back soon (I wish they were open for lunch on weekends but that may interfere with there function hall business).
The food was quite delicious but the service was very poor. The waitstaff couldn’t be more rude. No water refills, didn’t ask if I wanted another drink after mine was empty, said there wasn’t any more bread when asked, gave the check but never came over to the table to collect the cards. We had to call a waiter to come and get the cards. To end the night in a high note they gave a large party one check and rudely stated that they don’t split checks for big parties. Great location, beautiful restaurant, but I won’t be going back to a place that your treated like crap.
Great! We had a wonderful time!
We had a group of 8. I requested a round table by the window and they were able to honor that request. The service was very good. The only complaint I have is that 3 out of the 8 meals were sent back because they were cold. Three others had cold meals but just ate them anyway. We were given a complimentary plate of assorted desserts as a consolation. I would try this restaurant one more time to see if it was just because they were extremely busy.
We had a wonderful dinner. I had fish and my husband had the scallops. Both were the best we had had in New England. Our waiter, David, was friendly, and interesting to talk to.
Venezia's is like a hidden jewel in the city.
I am at Venezia at least once a month for lunch. I like to hold club meetings there because it is well-lit, in addition to the ambiance, the vista (even on a rainy day it's beautiful, just different), the meal is always delicious, as are the deserts.
I have been a patron for many years, (my husband I met there for lunch)long before Brenda was married), and have never had a problem with the waitstaff, or any meal.
We had dinner at Venezia for Mother's Day, so understandably, it was packed. The staff was definitely exhausted after a long day of seatings, but the service was still pretty good. The food was standard American-style Italian fare, and overall good quality. The best part about this place is the views - looking out on the water with views of Boston. I'd recommend dining here for the views alone! If you're looking for an outstanding Italian meal, I'm not sure this is the place. Everything is good quality, but stay for the views!
The ambiance was great the food was not so good love the drinks and hors d'oeuvres could have skipped the meal.
Dined with 9 on Mother’s Day. Quite loud, to be expected, in spite of a full restaurant service was good and food was delicious. Of the 9, all thouroughly enjoyed their meal. Will go back for a quiet dinner soon.
It was quite busy because it was Mother's Day but the food was great as always and you can't beat the view!
The food was very good, the only downside for us; was that we went on Mother's day; so there was a very limited menu. I think we will need to try it when the full menu is available.
It was so noisy we could barely hear each other speak. The tables were so close, the wait staff had difficulty serving. The food quality was mixed. The pasta and Italian traditional items were good, but the seafood was terribly lacking: over cooked pan seared scallops; cold baked stuffed haddock that was smothered in too much lobster sauce. The haddock was sent back three times and still not palatable.
Took my mother for Mother’s Day Brunch. The staff was super attentive and friendly. The food was great the room was full a life. My mother loved it.
Service was great, friendly and fast! Food was delicious!
A bit overpriced but it was a special occasion and the view was beautiful!
Very crowded waited 20min in line for food. Never do brunch again here
My family celebrated Mother’s Day at Venezia. The ballroom was beautiful and there was a good view of Boston even though it was a cloudy day. The food was excellent. It was a brunch and included many choices and everything we had was great. Dessert table was amazing! We would definitely go back again.
Phenomenal menu, quick and polite service with a beautiful view. Very reasonably priced. Hidden gem, we will certainly be back!
Such a lovely experience from start to finish! The wine was amazing, and every dish was even better than the last. Best part was the view!! Absolutely stunning.
Group lunch for 12. Was a quiet Thursday but service was superb. Excellent celebration with family and friends. Fantastic food at a fair price. Nice view of the harbor on a nice sunny day.
I have dined at dine at Venezia for several years now. I love the device, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The food is very fresh and tasty, love the view.
Food was good, restaurant rather noisy
I made a reservation for 14 people and the staff was very kind about accommodating such a large group. They did though arrange the tables where it was not conducive for conversation at all and the seating was very awkward.
The food was generic (lots of butter in every sauce) and not worth the price of 24 to 30 dollars a plate. If I came back it would be to sit outside for the view and get some appetizers and maybe a drink (the cocktails were lame also).
For the price, not worth it.
Water view seat. Great service. Meal was excellent.
Boston marathon friends getting together
The experience was great, the people are amazing... the food was delicious...
Always an enjoyable meal at Venezia. We've been dining here since the 80's and are never disappointed.
My wife and I had lunch here on a Friday after walking some Dorchester neighborhoods, including Port Norfolk. We were greeted warmly and shown to a table along the windows overlooking the Neponset and Dorchester Bay with views back into the Boston skyline. Service was old school, which is to say it was pleasant, efficient and unobtrusive. And the food was great. The salmon and tuna tatare was plentiful and fresh with a restrained sesame ginger dressing that allowed he flavor of the fish to shine. The Misticanza Con Noci e Formaggio salad was superb. The star of the meal was the Orecchiette Pugliesi. Really nicely done. So great location, great service and great food.
Fantastic evening with great views and delicious food
The food was excellent and the service - Isaac, I think our waiter’s name was attentive and friendly.
The food was outstanding! Fresh mozzarella, lightly battered calamari and the lightest gnocchi with the perfect sauce!
Food was horrible ..noise was very loud. Went for Easter . We won't return.
lovely views of the harbor; friendly staff and service, good food.
We were the 1st ones there at 11am, in the worst possible seat against a wall, serving table and another table. I was very impressed with the food quality was excellent. But seating, and layout needs severe improvements. It was like herding cattle with lines everywhere, which the lines were out the door and long.
We showed up for Easter Brunch at noon. We were seated immediately in the dining room as opposed to the buffet. Service was great, even though the restaurant was very busy. Our food came out hot, and in a timely manner. Best service for a holiday meal in a long time. My mom, who is elderly, enjoyed seeing the young families, as well as ,the elderly like herself. It was a perfect choice for us.
We went to Easter brunch in the banquet hall. Really nice buffet.
Very good ! The view the food the live music everything though I recommend going in early as me and my date went around 9 o’clock not knowing they close at 10 and felt rushed by the servers to leave but other then that would go again.
This place was recommended to us and I'm glad we went. It's right on the waterfront with a nice view of Boston. The food was very delicious and well presented. This is an upscale place so the food is a bit pricey. The music from the bar was great.
Went during Restaurant Week for lunch. Not too busy but we did a late reservation. Service was fine- checked on meals but not obtrusive. Portions for lunch were very large. Most tables taking leftovers. Really nice setting-harbor views and quiet. For the Restaurant Week special it can’t be beat. Plenty of FREE parking. Staff very pleasant.
I've been going there for many years and I always enjoy it.. The service is always excellent, the staff always friendly .. also you get a nice view of city of Boston
Good experience. Short ribs were a little dry. Mashed potatoes were amazing. Bread pudding was really good as well. The falling maple drink was nice and strong. I would go again but would definitely try other food options.
