Service was much too long -- 45 min from end of appetizer to entree presentation. The appetizers were excellent, especially the broccoli, and the risotto special was great, but two pasta dishes were a) overpowering in flavor and b) pasta underdone, not even at al dente stage. Our first time and we were looking forward to it based on reviews and friends' advice, and have had great meals at Raccolto (same owners), but were quite disappointed overall.
The ambience and service were excellent. The pasta was good, but a bit salty. The fish portion was tiny (less than 3 oz, I'd say) and it was a replacement for the scallops that they were out of. It was about 3oz of halibut on a bed of leeks for $32, not what I would expect at all. So, go for the pasta and the red meat but skip the fish.
It was one of the best dining experience. All the dishes are fantastic to look at and taste. It’s great to be able to see the kitchen and know it’s very clean.
Still one of my favorite restaurants. I recommend the Tasting Menu. The chef will surely surprise your palate.
Awesome food and drinks! They have tried and true staples, but also always new things on the menu.
Go there for almost all special occasions. They have a nice back room for larger groups. Food is always great, service is always great.
Excellent experience. A gem of a find. Was looking for a restaurant with well sourced (local) produce and meats. Vendemmia is Northwest meets Italy. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends.
Nice spot but disappointed in the food.
Vendemmia. Always solid over many, many visits. I've never tried the protein side of the menu because everything up to that is so awesome. The veg dishes and the pastas are amazing. And kudos for the amount of veggie dishes! Not all are vegetarian but still the focus on fresh and seasonal is notable. It's always a little cold, a little dark, and a little loud in there at night but it makes it seem like date night... My aging parents would be pickier about this than me. If you get noisy folks next to you, you may find yourself having to repeat yourself, or add some decibels to your timbre. We had an early reservation but lingered a bit and I could tell that the wait staff wanted to turn over the table. However, they were very, very subtle about it and I never felt rushed. I really don't want to be a clueless jerk so I'm glad to realize that the deep conversation I was having with my table mate was probably keeping someone from their dinner. Four drinks, two appetizers and two pastas was a dinner for two under $150 and to me, that price point is really fair in this overstacked, food-as-status-entertainment type city. It's got a good niche. Better than just a neighborhood joint, but not too precious. Keep on keeping on, team!
Great food - started with veggies, pasta course and short ribs. It was all lovely.
As always Vendemmia delivers a great dining experience. Cocktails were creative and very enjoyable. Dinner was outstanding.
This used to be one of my top two favourite neighbourhood places but after last Friday I'm not sure anymore. It took a long time for someone to come get my drinks order; maybe being a brown skinned female isn't very attention getting? No idea. The cocktail was good, not outstanding. The steak tartare was as good as ever and the crab and snap pea dish was okay. Oysters were also alright. Wine was solid, as usual though I prefer getting a bottle - the recommendations have always been stellar. but I was with someone who didn't drink much.
I hadn't been for a while and it could have been an off night. I'm sure I will try it again. the reason it stayed in my mind is that I had just been to Terra Plata and Vendemmia did not come out the winner in that comparison.
What I liked: Food was great. Not too crowded.
What I didn’t like: the room temperature was too cold for me. They were still heating up the dining room and outside was cold. Kitchen was a little slow, considering we were the first ones there.
Other observations: the menu is ala carte. Greens are served one at a time so typically they are shared.
It was fine. The appetizers were delicious and my friends said that they loved the pastas. I had the steak, which was gristly and extremely fatty. Also, I didn't understand how cold mushrooms were supposed to pair well with a hot steak. The service was very slow, and the whole restaurant was freezing.
We are frequent customers and the staff never remembers me and my husband. The waitress staff seem not engaged at all. If the service can be more personable, I think it would be a great place to dine, feel at home.
We were wow'd by Vendemmia for Restaurant Week, so decided to book reservation for New Year's Eve. Both my husband and I were underwhelmed for $75 each by what we got. Our server, too, was rushed...unfriendly... Maybe would go back for HH or to try their regular menu for once. Otherwise, pass on anther set menu.
Fun New Years Eve tasting menu!
The food was wonderful and the noise level was low enough that we could have a conversation without having to shout. I will definitely be back!
Nice dinner as usual. Sat at the bar. Service was fast and efficient, could have been a little more friendly.
Took a buyer client to dinner to celebrate her new condo purchase. It was lovely!
Food was good and the service was very pleasant and helpful. I would have given the food an even higher rating, but two of the four dishes we had were a bit too salty. And I'm not one to skimp on salt when I cook at home. One dish was the snap peas & crab appetizer, and the other was the Agnolloti with mortodella & pesto sauce (this was the saltier of the two). They were still good, but need less salt. I've eaten at Vendemmia several times and haven't noticed this before.
always a treat, always great. wonderful welcomed gem in our much needed neighborhood
Superb! Different & delicious! Thank you.
Server was very helpful explaining portions and timing of dishes. Enjoyed the oysters, Brussels sprouts smoked potatoes and entrees.
I eat here often and usually enjoy it. This time, food was very salty, wait was long and service was indifferent, at best. They weren't that busy. Perhaps holiday fatigue. Disappointing.
Four of us had dinner here. We shared 3 small plates and we each ordered our own pasta dishes. The two of us who ordered the boar ragu and lamb ragu were pleased with our portions. The two who ordered the squash/truffle pasta were disappointed as their portions were half the size of the ragu portions. The flavors were amazing in all the pastas but the discrepancy in proportions was disconcerting.
We were getting together with friends and our criteria included a talkable noise level, relatively easy parking and delicious food. This met all our criteria and we had an excellent reunion.
Great neighborhood spot with fantastic food. Casual dining, great bar.
Celebrating friends’ birthdays
Really enjoyed the chef’s sample menu.
Restaurant has a great space with great food options. Overall the experience was great however the hostess was abrupt and a little cold...not very personable.
The best restaurant I’ve been to in the city of Seattle.
Menu did not carry out what they advertised.
What happened fingerling potatoes and Swiss chard with NY Strip? Only NY Strip was served.
Risotto and rigatoni was too salty
We had a great first experience at Vendemmia. It won’t be our last!
We ordered an assortment of small plates—-loved everything, but favorites were the brussels sprouts and the snap peas with Dungeness crab! Yum! We ordered the rib steak and scallops, and really couldn’t finish it! Everything was perfectly and beautifully prepared. The wait staff is AWESOME, and the restaurant is truly top notch. We can’t wait to get back!!
Two couples. Great conversation. Great food. We’ll be back.
Excellent food, presentation, taste, interesting combinations.
My husband and I ate at Vendemmia for restaurant week. The food was good, though the portions were on the small side. The service was so quick that we felt rushed.
Came here during Seattle’s fall restaurant week. Enjoyed dinner and drinks, but I’m always thrown by an RW specific menu. I prefer experiencing items from the everyday/typical menu. Would recommend either way.
The restaurant was freezing. The heat was turned on at opening. The hard seats need cushions.
Restaurant Week is a zoo, and anything can happen to cloud your impressions of a new place. But we would not have discovered Vendemmia w/o RW, so we are very grateful. The food was imaginative, you dine just feet away from the chefs, and we will definitely be back. To be specific, loved the seared scallops, risotto w/ black pepper, albacore crudo, pear sorbet, and burrata crostini.
We love Vendemmia as a friendly gourmet neighborhood restaurant and they offer one of the best menus for Seattle Restaurant Week
