                                                                    Definitely a good experience. I wish: a) Servers were made to wear masks, including outside. Covid is not over and it would lead more immunocompromised people to eat there, outside. And more customers who live with immunocompromised people. b) Servers were paid a living wage (Glass Half Full and other venues nearby have done so, why not Venable)? Calamari appetizer is wonderful as is the bread that comes with it. Fries are frites, and a must.

                                                                    Venable was highly recommended by a coworker, but I was rather disappointed unfortunately. The atmosphere was nice enough, but the Pork Tenderloin dish I ordered was a total letdown. The large plate was 90% covered in the cous cous, with a miniscule portion of pork. The port itself was cooked well but lacked much flavor for what was supposed to be a spiced dish. The servers were professional enough, but not very friendly or personable, and didn't check in very often, until there was another opportunity to ask for an order (more drinks, dessert, etc.)

                                                                    We enjoyed a brunch special of eggs Benedict on salmon cakes with a side of beacon and a Virgin Mary . The food was perfectly prepared. The service was attentive. Lots of other customers but the noise level was still ok. We’ll go back soon

                                                                    Ben was our server and was excellent, efficient, and personable. We enjoyed our food quite a bit - panko-crusted chicken with a bit too much arugula but still very tasty. I had the Bibimbap with Bulgogi beef and it was awesome. Another one in our group loved their blackened fish tacos.

                                                                    Happy to have Venables continuing after the pandemic, even if a bit quiet on a Monday night. Food was very good, as always. We did find the portions to be quite small now, reflected in our rating of only Fair for value. The exception was the Sticky Toffee Pudding dessert, which hit it just right. We look forward to future visits.

                                                                    Started with the calamari, which was okay, but we thought it works Be fried and wasn’t. Also the lettuce wraps, which was good. The star was the chicken, and added mashed potatoes. Really crispy and good. Will go back for that!

                                                                    The entrees (and starters too) were magnificent. Really special. Different but special. I had the Bibimbap and really enjoyed it. My wife and grandson had the fried chicken which looked just like pictures displayed on line and they enjoyed it too. The lettuce rolls were great. I took advantage of the Wednesday discounts on wine. Had a whole bottle of a wonderful Lombardy offering (Pinot Nero) for only $9.00 more than just a glass. But the really great thing to mention was the service. Tables didn't become available (outside) quite as soon as the hostess counted on so they quickly set up a table for us up on the side porch and we were treated to our own somewhat secluded space. Thanks ! We'll be back. There's more wonderful things to try.

This place has been our favorite among the Triangle area eateries for many years - we enjoy the casual atmosphere, warm service and delightful seasonal menus. The current staff is the best yet - all of the servers are exceptionally professional, helpful and friendly. Can't wait to go back.

Also ordered sparkling water, was given a glass and a bottle, still capped, which I couldn't open--needed to find and ask server to open it for me. Don't think I'll be back.

We appreciated that there was a variety of options for various dietary preferences. We had to wait a bit to order after being seated because it was really busy for a Monday.                                                                     The entrée I ordered was pork tenderloin with couscous and broccolini. The pork was superb; perfectly cooked, soft and flavorful. The couscous and broccolini were extremely disappointing, however. The couscous was so undercooked that it felt as though I was grinding pebbles in my mouth. The broccolini was so heavily spiced with chilies, that I lost all the taste sensation of a mild, but delightful, vegetable.
