We arrived early so noise was not an issue. I don’t know what it would be like with a full house. The food and service were terrific, and the portions were large. My friend and I both had the chicken breast which was anything but ordinary. So good. The desserts were amazing.

With the limited menu, need for reservations, and $$ menu prices, we expected it would be equivalent to a Ten Tables experience, so we gave it a try. Unfortunately, not! Food was ok, but not outstanding. Meager portions and a lack of flavor ‘singing’; there were no ‘you have to taste this!’ moments. Lack of imagination and stingy portions made it a so-so dinner. We went home and had some ice cream!

This was a great end summer dinner on VeeVee’s beautiful private patio. It was such a treat to dine outside in late October, no heat lamps needed. The specials and regular menu are always great, the gorditas, pastas oysters, crumble pie and their amazing butterscotch pudding deserve a special mention. We are also happy to dine indoors with colder weather coming, cozy and comfortable!

As usual the dining experience at VeeVee was exceptional; carefully prepared food, in a friendly atmosphere, on the patio on an unseasonably warm evening. Especially notable was the service by a grownup. She was fully informed about the food and wine, gracious without pretension, and made all of us relaxed and happy to be dining in this JP Gem.

We haven't visited Vee Vee in over a year and were pleased that it has not lost its high level of service and food. The staff was excellent and the food amazing.

Pleasant enough experience. Servers were very helpful. Food was ok, not worth the expense.Recorded music in the patio was annoying. Patio is a nice space. We are unlikely to return.

Loved the homey, down to earth feel of this place. Service was great and the food was good. I will say the prices felt steep for the quantity of food provided. And I was disappointed to be served wine in of a plastic cup…not to sound snooty, but for the price you’re paying at this place I would at least expect some real wine glasses.

The gracious and gorgeous secret patio has given VeeVee a whole new dimension. Spacious and comfortable, it is tucked like a secret garden, just off Eliot Street. What remains the same is the way Dan and Kirsten welcome familiar diners as if they were family members and the unhurried friendliness of the staff. We've been going to VeeVees for many years, with visitors, with friends, and alone together on short notice. We think the food has grown steadily better. Take the fried shitake mushrooms, and you really should. We always order them as an app for the table and recently the mushrooms are plumper and subtler. The menu is not large but, as a vegetarian, I always have some choices and they are invariably delicious. Unpretentious, reliable and delicious, VeeVee is a treasure of Jamaica Plain.

the food was delicious! such good flavors and presentation. One of us had the pasta and wanted more. Two had the scallops and wanted one more scallop. The corn accompanying the scallop dish was creamy and sweet and corny and delicious. I had the gazpacho and the tuna tartare and it was just enough.
