Vault Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Been to this restaurant so many times but this time was very disappointed. I ordered Cajun crusted fish and husband ordered turkey . Unfortunately both were out. Overall not too happy as I went specifically for the Cajun fish and him turkey. Ordered lamb instead and it was so so.
The waitress the nice enough to apologize and give us a free dessert.
I love this spot once the weather changes from summer patios. It’s cozy and eclectic. I was happily surprised to be there when Clay Scott was playing as he brings a warmth and depth to the overall experience. Our service was great, exceptional as always. Guys didn’t have paper towels in their can, so maybe a little bathroom maintenance is in order but really, nothing to complain about. I do wish they had the smoked seafood trio but not a huge deal as my friend and I were able to build our own seafood meal with appies alone. It is a popular spot yet still provides ambiance and intimacy.
When we 1st got there we were seated in the middle of the floor where it was bright and we immediately refused to sit there, so we were put in corner by the wall, and that is where I originally made my request for when I booked online. The braised short ribs were excellent and I really enjoyed it along with the wine. The service was ok but then at the end we didn't see our waitress and we waited. We decided to just take our check and skip the coffee and desert. I usually enjoy my experience at the Vault, however there are sometimes small things that occur and are not quite as we expect. These are the little details that need to be corrected in order for the experience to be enjoyed thoroughly. Thank you....
Food was delicious and the service was great. Our server was quite attentive however due to the noise level, I was having problem hearing her and need to ask her to repeat several times. I order calamari for my appy and it was a bit dissapointing as the amount they served wasn't enough to share. There are 3 of us, and we probably only get 5 pcs each for the price of $12.99.
Overall was great, and I would come back. But probably won't drive all the way out to Cloverdale from Vancouver just for this though.
I'm so glad my husband and I finally tried The Vault, its just the kind of date-night spot that I've been looking for locally here in Surrey. I'm originally from L.A. and I've been yet to find an independently owned restaurant has amazing food, great people and ambiance, and just a cool place to eat at here locally. This place had it all, and it instantly made me feel like I was back in LA. The decor, the people, and the menu was all very refreshing and the food was delicious. They also have live music on the weekends. Will definitely be going back.
Very disappointed, not was it used to be or remembered.
The prawns were small and a bit undercooked. My steak did not taste like AAA meat and was also undercooked. The chicken appitizer my companion had was ok (but not as good as the chilli pepper chicken they used to have) and her chicken lattice wraps was not that good, Romain lettuce looked like it was under the heat lamp for a long time. Overall was a D- experience.
The service was terrible. The portions were small.
We weren't told of the specials, we had to ask about the soup of the day and after we ordered we had to ask for bread. The waiter seemed to ignore us. We were almost finished our meal before he came by to see how the food was. We then sat with empty plates for awhile.
Definitely a negative experience.
The food was very good with the crab cakes being excellent. We went on a friend's recommendation and were not disappointed. We found it dark inside but were fortunate to get a table right next to the front window. For a more intimate feeling we would book the "vault room" next time.
We have been to The Vault many times over the years. Recently we moved further away but my son still wanted to go there for his birthday dinner with his grandparents. Our server was very friendly and lovely however the food had really gone downhill. It just wasn't up to par. Then we ordered a dessert to share but were even more disappointed. The strawberry sauce on the cheesecake looked like nothing I had ever seen before, and not in a good way. It looked like it had been puréed and frozen. I didn't even want to try a bite.
Definitely not worth the drive.
In previous years we have always enjoyed the Vault. We go several times a year.
This year we were disappointed for first time. The servings have shrunk in size &
we are not big eaters, but we noticed the difference. One had to ask for bread on the table etc.
It seems the "bottom line" is controlling the menu. In the restaurant business you don't get
too many chances to get it right before losing regular customers.
This occasion was our first visit to this restaurant and well worth the wait. The food was excellent and, choices were varied and very reasonably priced. We cannot wait to come back with a larger group and enjoy the experience again at some point in the future.
This was our second visit to this restaurant and it was great again! Great alternative to going downtown or to South Surrey for a nice meal. A little pricey (+$250 for dinner and drinks for 4) and although our server was great, the support staff was clearly inexperienced (drinks almost spilled, leaning awkwardly over the table with pepper milk, etc. - thankfully no accidents though)
Food is always very good. Must try there Peanut butter pie for dessert . It just melts in your mouth. The Vault Restaurant was very busy the night we went. Did find it a lot noisier that usual. Service was great and very attentive with it having a lot of people there. Had family from Scotland visiting and they enjoyed there meal and the Restaurant.
