Vault Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We attended Nov 11/17 ...was extremely happy to see they brought back the seared scallops...this time the dish came with prawns..was absolutely delish!!
My only complaint would be that my short ribs were a bit dry but great flavor. The Vault is my favorite restaurant in the lower mainland.
We have eaten at The Vault for many years - the food has always been great.
However, the last few times we have been there the noise level has been too much -
at times it is impossible to even have a conversation across the table.
Also, we feel that since this restaurant has become busier, the service is lacking a little.
Too bad, but I think we are done with The Vault.
We had previously been to The Vault for lunch and thought we would give it a try fir dinner. We made reservations for 5:30 p.m. and we glad we did when we arrived. This place was hopping with people and energy, A bit surprising compared to venues. Obviously this is 'usual' for the Vault as the service was excellent, food (appy, meal & desert) was presented at a comfortable pace, and the quality of food was fantastic. Will definitely return.
Great restaurant, always my go to for a special occasion or get together with a Girlfriend. It's like a downtown restaurant without leaving town. Parking is limited. Noise level is high, and seating is crowded, but it's still a wonderful place to eat and drink.
My family of 5 went for my wife’s birthday... we love going to the vault at least 4-5 time a year. Overall it was a good outing the service could have been a little better our server was not very attentive... had to ask for bread.... never asked if we wanted appetizers.... or what the occasion was ....
The food and service were great. The only things that really needs attention from the restaurant are: you need coasters for the drinks - we were dripping condensation all over our food and clothing; when serving shellfish, you really need to bring a bowl for the shells (and a towelette or finger bowl for the hands afterward). Also the mussels were fabulous; the sauce thick and spicy - I had to ask for bread to soak it up. As far as I am concerned, it should be served with bread. Other than my minor suggestions, we really enjoyed the meals and would definitely eat here again. Oh, and could have gluten-free options marked on the menu.
Food as always was great. Portion was smaller this time (in regards to patatoes and sauce with the meat). Try the shortribs they are awesome. The place was busy but we did not get our bread till we had already had our meal and we had to ask. Needed more sauce and it was impossible to get anyone’s attention without being loud, so we did without. We love this place but it was not the best of nights.
First visit , good sign very busy at 6:30 on a
Tuesday nite. Good variety on menu, very friendly and helpful serving staff. Its an old bank building and really has a vault you can sit in.
Food was very good and reasonably priced, not huge portions.
We shall return.
My ONLY complaint with The Vault is the seating arrangement--the tables are so close-especially the ones for 2 with the "screen" between them-can hear everyone's conversations. Also the ones along the wall with the bench seating. We were lucky and were able to change and move to a table for 2 in the corner by the Vault-I didn't care that my back was to the restaurant-at least i didn't have to hear my neighbours chitchat.
This was the second time I had come to the vault and just as the time before, I preferred the appies over my entree. We had also been offered bread as soon as we ordered and never did receive it, so that was disappointing. Other than that the rest of the evening was nice.
Our food was good as usual, but portions have really gotten smaller and prices have gone up. My son was there six days prior and his steak was not as good as usual . We have always raved about this restaurant and this is the first time there was a little bit of disappointment . Service remains good.
Food was great once they recooked it as originally my fish had a hair cooked into it. They did not provide any discount for the inconvenience of having to wait for it to be recooked and they did nothing to congratulate my 88 year old mother on her birthday which I mentioned in the reservation. Overall the experience was okay.
