Vaso Azzurro Ratings and Reviews
The ambience, the staff, and the food were excellent. You don't go here because they have the most famous chef with an exotic special of the day. You go here because you want to enjoy a beautiful meal with a family atmosphere, and you just want to let go and enjoy the beautiful buzz and the amazing singing (if you're lucky enough to be there at one of those moments). Awesome place, pay extra attention to their specials of the day, and enjoy!
The servers were very friendly and were able to accommodate our timing (we had a show to get to), and they were willing to make simple substitutions on dishes (i.e., pasta instead of mashed potatoes), but the food was only so-so. Nothing horrible, but nothing memorable. I would not refuse to eat there again, but I don't see myself going back. The ribeye in particular was disappointing - smothered with a very salty brown mushroom sauce. The veal piccata was OK - sauce good but meat was tough. My daughter's pesto gnocchi was too creamy. My mother-in-law's halibut special was the best dish we ordered. The salads were also good, and the calamari appetizer was fresh and crispy. Wine list was pretty ordinary.
The person who served us brought to me an alcoholic drink which I never ordered because I simply don't drink alcohol. For our friends whom we invited he brought a wrong meal. And he didn't serve any drink for my friend who ordered a margarita. It was a terrible experience and we will never consider going to this restaurant again.
I've been going to Vaso Azzurro for many years, mainly for lunch. The food is very good and fresh. Michael, the manager is a big part of the positive vibe at Vaso Azzurro. Gregarious and humorous coupled with a positive attitude make Vaso Azzurro not only a place for great food, but a fun experience.
This place has it all!! Where else can you go and feel like you completely fit in as part of a big family. The staff here make you feel more than welcome, they make you feel happy to be alive, they make you feel special. Excellent food and variety. Thank you all for making everyone so happy!
We were a party of six and we all agreed on how bad the service from the wait staff was. Our server opted to not write down our orders and consequentally 2 of us received the wrong entree. Except for the 2 entrees that had to be redone, our remaining 4 entrees were luke warm. After arriving, we sat at our table for at least 10 minutes and no one took a beverage order. We had to flag someone down. Then at the end of our meal, our server never asked us if we wanted coffee or dessert. Again, we had to flag someone down. Can't remember ever having this bad a service at a restaurant.
We were greeted warmly and shown to a comfortable table. Generous pourings of wine were appreciated. We had a Caesar salad and Minu's salad. Fresh and well dressed. The salmon special was perfectly cooked, pinky rare and flaky. I love the Zabaglione desert. This restaurant is our "cheers" and I love dining here.
This was my first visit to this restaurant, but I will be back! Overall it was a great experience. The atmosphere is lively but not deafening. The service is attentive without being overwhelming. And the food was really good, with decent sized portions at very reasonable prices.
Four of us had dinner after theatre matinee on a Sunday. Food was very good; large servings; moderate prices. Server gave wrong entree to one, causing wait for rest of us. Noise level increased substantially when restaurant was full. Should reserve in advance.
Food was great. Service was great. Our Server recommended a great wine on the wine list and let us taste it before buying a full bottle. They surprised our bday boy with a free dessert and the singing of the most incredible rendition of happy birthday. The voices were incredibly good. Then the maitre d sang a song at our table, topping off a special night.
I am in tears as I write this review. Vaso Azzurro made my boyfriends birthday "PERFECT". It was hard to find parking and we were already running late for our reservation, we were still given a wonderful table. The staff was phenomenal! The ambiance was heavenly. There was small jazz duo, one of whom played my boyfriends favorite instrument, the muted trumpet. The lasagna is the best on this side of heaven. Thank you!
We discovered this place almost by accident. It is now one of our go to places. The manager remembers everyone who comes in. Feels like you're going to a family member's house for a meal. Among many other times, we went here for my Italian Mother's 85th birthday and the manager came over to sing to her. She loved it. There is a lot of singing of Italian songs. Everyone there seems to be very authentic. And, the staff seems to always be the same people. Low turn over is a very good thing from a customer's point of view.
Vaso Azzurro is a very lovely restaurant, and it reminds me so much of Italy. Very cozy, and they currently have a nice tree all lit up as well. The service is friendly and courteous. The food is delicious. They are very attentive. I would highly recommend. If you have a large group, i like to arrive early. It tends to be quieter then. Really enjoyable. The host also started to sing for us, that was an added plus! Enjoy your local Italy experience!
We were celebrating a birthday. Probably the worst service we have ever had anywher! We sat down with menus then after 15minutes we had walk up to the manager and ask if someone could take our orders. After the main course we again sat for about 20 minutes until someone asked if we would like anything else. At this stage we just got the check and left.
The food was very good, it was very noisy making it difficult to talk (live music did not help although the music was good).
Ambience was fantastic with live music. We were promptly seated and everyone was super nice. Service was initially good but our waiter then disappeared for over an hour and was not seen again. Another waiter helped out. Food was nicely presented but very salty for our taste. We try to limit our salt and the food here was much saltier than other restaurants we frequent. We will possibly give it one more try and see if they can tone down the salt.
