Solid Italian fare at a good price. Nice location in downtown Mountain View.
Nice atmosphere--warm and cozy yet modern. Excellent service and delicious food. The only thing I would say is to scrap the plastic menus, they don't match up with the ambiance of the restaurant, which is classy and traditional. I was kind of put off by the plastic menus--maybe have large maroon leather bound covers with paper menus inside. Other than that, perfect!
Break and garlic oil was the best part of the meal. Chicken Francese was nothing like traditional egg dipped Francese an just wasn’t good.
Excellent service, awesome food and lovely environment.
The food was excellent but for some reason our service wasn’t up to par from what we had read from the reviews and expected for celebrating a special occasion. We had to wait a bit longer after being seated to order our food, we had to ask for our water to be refilled twice, and we were rarely checked on especially since we were celebrating a birthday that evening. It was supposed to be a special occasion for us but unfortunately it came up short that night and just felt like we were any other customers on any evening.
Good thing the bread kept us company. The owner was friendly and nice, but we must be honest to our first experience and just expected more out of the service.
Terrible service, mediocre food. We had a reservation and were seated near the door. It became extremely cold and we asked them to close the door, but the staff told us they could not because other customers would complain. Last I checked, we were customers too. I asked again after a little while, since they had said they would close the door "later" and they complied, by which time dinner was over and my 5 person party of out of town guests had spent most of it shivering. Before that, the staff apparently chided my guests for me using the bathroom and therefore delaying when they could take our order by about 2 minutes. Inconsiderate response to customers, noisy venue, mediocre food. I recommend you spend your money on a better restaurant.
Went there for a “special date” night out. Our server managed to screw up our drink order, then screwed up our entrees, hardly checked on us during the meal, failed to offer us a dessert menu, then never brought us the after dinner drinks we ordered from a different waiter—He did, however, manage to get the undelivered drinks on our bill, which I thought was nice. The food was good, not great, but the service was so unbelievable we just left laughing. Not Recommended.
feel like family every time! amazingly inviting and great food!
We love this place. It's a place where "everybody knows your name". The food is very nice pretty much home made Italian cuisine. 'Lemon drop' cocktail is my favorite. Outstanding service. It's our favorite neighborhood restaurant.
Place is nice, food is good...but a little bit noisy in the corner...
The seabass special was yummy. I thought the live music was too loud and intrusive, although the musicians were talented. Decor, plating, style was very expected.
Lovely dinner spot with great italian food. I had dinner on a Tuesday night and was surprised to see SO many birthday dinners in large groups. So it appears to be popular for celebrations! But this also affects noise levels, be warned.
Every time my family dines at Vaso Azzurro, it is a wonderful experience. Michael, Alan and the whole crew are exceptional. The food is to die for, the service is great and the live music is a huge plus, where Mark will serenade you with a classic song. Let them know it's your birthday. Your get a great surprise!
We loved the food. They do rush you as you do not have time to finish appetizers, soon the main meal is served. Quite noisy
Food continues to be well-prepared and tasty. Prices are reasonable, and service is professional. Nice stop for dinner before or after the theatre.
It was very good food nice ambience, lively but not excessively noisy. I like the place.
Service was a touch slow on the front end, but not bad since it was getting busy. Puzzling was the food was run to the table not by the waitress (not unusual) but no one ever followed up to see if everything was ok (it was but no matter). Then when we were getting a little impatient for the check maybe 40 minutes after the food was a served and 10-15 after plates cleared, I flagged a busboy. Still no check 10-15 minutes later so I got his eye again and then our waitress brought it reasonably quickly which was the first time she had come by since the order. She said something like “leaving so soon?” Which might have been a joking acknowledgement she had forgotten us, or maybe serious; It was not clear. Mistakes happen and I have eaten here once before with no problem so I am considering this as a one off error and will return.
I came to Vaso Azzurro all the time but last Thursday was a disappointment! There was absolutely no Saffron in my Risotto and the clams were not cooked properly. my friend's pasta dish was very bland.. I truly hope this is just a hip cup...
We love the food and owners... very busy
Accommodating server and kitchen (we had a combination of vegans, vegetarians and carnivores), abundant and quality food, as good a value as you will find in Mountain View. Allow time to find parking.
My first time at Vaso Azurro. I met a friend for lunch. It's perfect for that. Very nice and enjoyable. The food and service were excellent. And so was the ambiance.
Very good vegetarian choices. Live band on Sat night and possibly other nights. Good service. I had the mushroom ravioli eith Alfredo sauce and my wife had penne with vegetables. No kids menu but you can get half orders for 70% of the full order cost. Food is a bit pricey.
Excellent chicken in white wine sauce, pesto gnocchi and fabulous desserts.
Best dining experience we have ever had. Great staff, top-notch food, delightful live music.
One of our favorite restaurants. Delish food. Friendly service. Great cocktails. Divine desserts.
Vaso Azzuro made our anniversary extremely special. Friday night they had live jazz music and the owner sang Anniversary song for us. The food and their service was outstanding. I would highly recommend this place.
Another awesome meal at Vaso Azzurro! I love this place! The food is fantastic, the wine list is amazing and best of all, they make you feel like family!! The singing is tons of fun!! Home away from home.
I had chicken piccata. My husband has veal Marsala. All entrees came with the same sides - mashed potatoes and vegetables. My meal was okay. This is my second time at this restaurant. It’s okay but with so many restaurants in this area I’ll try a different restaurant next time.
Pasta was overcooked, sauce was supposed to be spicey but wasn't, could barely see the 5 small pieces of eggplant supposed to be in the sauce, maitre d treated me abruptly and harshly, live music was way too loud for the space, salad was small, over all the experience was over priced. Good things were healthy pour in glass of wine and waiter was good
the food and the service was amazing!! The wine list was very impressive. Vaso Azzurro has the amazing ability to make you feel like family. This is the place to go!!
Ambiance was special and fun. Welcoming hospitality. Interesting menu, food was good and prices reasonable. Very nice to have live music.
The bread was burnt and the risotto lacked flavor, but the salad and tiramisu were great. With all the variety of restaurants in the area, I probably won't be back to this one.
The interior of the restaurant was great and the ambiance was lively! Food was just ok... Nothing spectacular! What really made the experience questionable was the snarly waiter who felt compelled to ask if our group had a reservation SEVERAL times in a matter of 10 minutes. What a moron!
Great place for business dinner allowing for quiet conversation. Food and service was super.
Vaso Azzurro was just wonderful. 4 of us went before a performance nearby.
We all had salads with greens, avocado, gorgonzola and walnuts. Yum! and portions enough for two to share. Then two of us shared that day's special pasta, which was blackened salmon over fettuccine with sundried tomatoes and alfredo sauce. It was amazing. They charged $1.50 for sharing and effectively gave us two full portions. Our friends each tried the seasonal stuffed ravioli which they also enjoyed very much. The service couldn't have been better. We all said we'd go back in a minute.
Staff was very accommodating. Food was delicious and there was something for everyone. We had a wonderful experience and we’ll be back!
My wife and I had enjoyed our fourth dinner over the past four months at Vasa Azzurro on Oct. 2, and we have enjoyed each one. The food, service, and ambience have been consistently excellent, and we enjoyed the singing by the maitre d during our most recent visit, which added to the romantic atmosphere of the restaurant. Their lasagna is one of the best I have had in the US and in Italy. The next time we want Italian food, we will return to Vaso Azzurro.
We enjoyed our visit to this very good Italian restaurant in midscale Mountain View. The wines by the glass were well-selected and the fish special (grilled Barramundi) was very nice and flavorful. Our vegetarian pasta was fresh and very palatable. We'd definitely stop by here again for Italian dining.
Great meal and not too crowded. Perfect for a good business meeting.
Great music and friendly staff
First time and had a good meal went with another couple. We all had different dishes they were all very good. There were entertainers there too and the owner joined in and sang. He was very personable went around the the tables and talked to everyone asking how dinner was and made recommendations for dessert!
