Half pizza with dates, fontina, honey, walnuts & rosemary
Nana's slow cooked meatballs with a side of fresh baked bread
Choice of butter & parmigiano or marinara
Server was rude, charged us for every refill we got and brought our food out cold
Under normal circumstances I can see where this restaurant would shine. However, for whatever reason the restaurant was far below what was expected when I made the reservation. A few reasons for the bad experience are below.
- The waitress took an appetizer order for garlic bread and meatballs, and brought the garlic bread and we waited for the meatballs (never arrived).
- When ordering entrees the waitress indicated there was no pasta once someone started to order pasta. This is 1/3 of their menu and would have been great to know prior to ordering appetizers.
- I placed an order for pizza with meatballs as a topping. Once the pizza was brought out the waitress indicated the meatballs weren’t ready. I requested to have it removed from the order.
- My wife ordered an egg sandwich with capicola, but they did not put any meat on the sandwich.
- We received the bill with the meatball appetizer, which never arrived, and my meatball addition still on the bill.
The food we did receive was really good, but sadly this wasn’t enough to make our experience acceptable.
Have to agree that their sauce is amazing. The pizza crust is VERY thin, especially in the middle. Pepperoni is probably the tastiest I’ve ever had. We had the meatball appetizer... excellent meatballs but not sure why they give two people three pieces of bread, especially when you want to sop up every last drop of that excellent sauce. Definitely worth supporting this.
Excellent pizza, & cool ambiance.
Making the reservation was very easy. We walked in and were greeted with a pleasant smile and seated at a table in no time at all. The service was excellent. The pizza was absolutely amazing with fresh and delicious ingredients. We highly recommend this restaurant and glad we used open table to find a restaurant close to our hotel. Since we were visiting the area open table helped us find an amazing restaurant that I have since recommended to about everyone! Thank you.
Food was great! Service was not so much maybe because she was just opening and not prepared. She got better! Mother and son Date.
We waited a long time (over 10 minutes) for anyone to acknowledge we had been seated. At the 15 minute mark, someone brought water. At the 20 minute marks, someone finally took our order. There were lots of staff so that wasn't the cause of the slowness. Once we ordered, our food came pretty quickly. The pizzas and pasta with "nana's gravy" were all very good. All in all, we enjoyed it but the lack of attention from the waitstaff was off-putting.
It's been years since we've been. Pizza and salads were just as delicious as they used to be but, wow, has the ambiance changed. It used to be pretty high end but the tables are beat to heck, plastic cups have replaced glass, and it's just kind of a pizza dive now, instead of a restaurant. Problem is, their pizza, while incredibly delicious right out of the oven, doesn't travel as well.
Great service but the pizza was not as good as in the past. Still good, but it was really excellent a year or so ago.
Not a good experience. Pizza arrived before salad. Pizza was wrong and lukewarm by the time they corrected it. I emailed the manager about the poor experience on Saturday night after we left. It’s Tuesday afternoon and still no response.
Our pizzas were delicious (though unfortunately not as hot as they could be after sitting on the pass for several minutes) and our son loved his pasta dish.
The pizza was awesome. Will be back!!
Great pizza place. Our server Natasha was amazing, very attentive, great customer service skills!!! Highly recommended, we will definitely come back.
I got back to Varasano's after a long hiatus due to Covid. It was great to see Stephanie and the rest of the staff and to once again enjoy my favorite thin-crust Naples style pizza! I love it!
It was absolutely great pizza and a quick night for a date.
Pizzas are good and made with nice ingredients! Service can improve
It was great! Our waitress was nice and the food was good. I generally enjoy really hot pizza so it could have been hotter, but it was still good. Thanks!
Pizza was fantastic
Took my wife for date night, we love Italian. This is one of the best Italian restaurants in Atlanta. We had the salad and pizza. The salad was awesome and the pizza delicious, so ordered a second! The service e was top-notch, restaurant very clean and practiced social distances. 👌😋
I loved the food and the service was great. Varasanos is always on point!!
I've eaten pizza in Italy, New York, Chicago and all over the Atlanta area....Varasano's is the BEST PIZZA ON THE PLANET!
Only one or two of the staff were wearing masks, majority did not. It was very uncomfortable being that we’re still in a global pandemic. Varasanos was one of our favorite spots, but it was super disappointing to see the lack of precautions they were taking.
Great food service was a bit slow, but it was Valentine’s Day. Overall excellent experience.
Food was great and the bartender who was waiting on our table totally made up for no server coming to see us once we were seated.... but we were busy chatting with out of town friends so really it wasn’t an issue. Would definitely return! Only down side in my opinion was we were seated near the door and it was a little chilly for my liking.. however totally not a deal breaker because the food and ambiance were worth it.
Great pizza and friendly staff. Felt very safe !
Excellent service!! Great food
This is some of the best pizza in Atlanta; they do an excellent Neapolitan style that is on the slightly larger size
Have loved this place for years. Nana’s add soppressata!!
I was not impressed. Server was abrasive and seemed irritated with us coming in even though we had set up a reservation. We were also the only ones in the restaurant. Read rave reviews about this place prior to arriving and was excited. Was given dirty plates for the pizza, food was mediocre, and service sucked. Won’t be going back.
Great food and drinks
Amazing food! Amazing atmosphere! Great people and even better times!
Originally from Detroit, so there's not too many things that I love more than a DAMN GOOD pizza! Varasano's...has SOME OF THE BEST that U will find, ANYWHERE!
Arguably one of the best pizzas in the world. Yes, truly. Jeffrey Varasano is an obsessive pizza maestro, and continues to innovate. I made a detour to Atlanta on a NJ to Florida drive just to sample.
Great service by our waitress but we realized these employees are using their own phones and square accounts to bring customer payments. we where shocked. This owner must be soo cheap if he can’t even supply point of sale for his own business. I say this is prolly illegal. I own my own company and I have never seen anything as stupid and degrading to employees as such.
Step up as an owner and be responsible not cheap if you want to be successful.
Best pizza in Atlanta area!
I came to Varasano’s for a Solo Brunch trip. The only thing that I did not like about my experience is that I was sat in the front corner, despite having a reservation. Otherwise the food and drinks were great and service was also pretty good
great pizza and incredibly friendly owner. Would highly recommend.
Amazing staff...food was great and came out fast! Our waitress was covering two areas because another server went home sick and she was fantastic...she never missed a beat!
Our server was pretty inattentive to us and the food did not come out hot as usual. We sent our appetizer back as it was straight up cold and were told that a new one had been made. The new one was room temperature. We love coming here and do so regularly but this trip was disappointment.
