Great dinner and table. We had a wonderful birthday experience, we would recommend to others for celebratory meals!!
Everything was perfect. Great date night. Trout was amazing!
We went for my daughters sweet 16 bday. It was nice. My husband and I got the swordfish which was a special. It had cheese grits and asparagus with it. It was super salty and lacked a little in flavor. Maybe because it had so much salt? My daughter got a steak and had ordered it medium but it was a little rare for her liking. Overall it was a great dinner and we will definitely be back!
Not our first time at Varanese, which is exactly why we chose it for my wife's birthday. Louisville has many great restaurants and Varanese is definitely in our top 10. Always exceptional!
We were in town for a quick weekend in Louisville discovering new restaurants and sites. We stumbled upon this restaurant and we were not disappointed! Food was excellent and the staff was top notch.
Absolutely, already have! Absolutely, already have!
One of our go-to places that will cater to dietary requirements, while providing top-shelf services and ambiance.
So good. I'm vegetarian but the rest of our group of 4 were not. The Risotto and Sauteed Veggies dish I ended up ordering sounded so good to one of the others at the table that she got it too--and we both loved it! The guys also loved their hamburgers and fries. I love how willing the chef and staff are to work with special diets.
And the ambiance with the live music--so good too! Highly recommend.
All of the glass doors were open so it was very nice with the open air feel. The service was fantastic! Mason was our server and he made great suggestions and was very attentive. The food was delicious. We sampled the cured salmon everything bagel dip, kale salad, pasta with salmon, and the chef's vegetarian dish. Wine selection was nice as well.
I had the flat iron steak. It was tender enough but rather chewy and covered in a thick heavy sauce that was so full of Worcestershire sauce that I couldn’t finish it. The Brussel sprouts were so hard and crunchy in the center they were awful. Certainly not the best meal I’ve had there and the room felt a little too close for comfort.
The wine and the waiter were excellent
Always a great experience when we dine at Varanese. The service was superb!
Always delicious and innovative menu at Varanese. Service is always the best. I have also been there for wine dinners, which are fantastic.
Invited friends who are new in town. Service was excellent. Everyone enjoyed the delicious food as usual—everything I’ve ever tasted here has been well-prepared and flavorful. Especially loved the crab-stuffed avocado appetizer and steak with acorn squash tonight. Live music makes any meal here a special occasion. Easily one of the best restaurants in Louisville!
We have loved Varanese since they opened. The food is always delicious and the service is so personal. In these days of the pandemic, we felt very safe eating indoors Saturday night.
Good drinks good food. Would recommend to anyone.
Restaurant was way too crowded given the current Covid outbreak - people were packed in like sardines - there was no apparent effort that I could see to reduce the number of tables or keep groups of diners a safe distance from each other. The busboy had his nose out of his mask (which was a knitted material and no protection anyway) all night, and no one seemed to care. We love Varanese and the meal was very good - as was our server - but we won't be coming back until the pandemic is more under control. There are many other places we've been to recently that seem to be taking the safety of their diners more seriously.
Varanese never dissapoints. This has become one of our favorite restaurants in Louisville. The ambience is very comfortable and the live music makes it exceptional. Our service was prompt and attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu. Our meals were both very good. The pork chop was perfect and the augratin potatoes were the perfect complement. Beef tortellini had a great flavor and perfect on a rainy night. Another great evening at Varanese.
We celebrated our 60th wedding anniversary at Varanese. Not only did they recognize our anniversary with rose petals on the table and a special anniversary sign, we also got a free desert. The entire meal was excellent. We started out with the baked brie appetizer (to die for) and pistachio encrusted goat cheese salad (amazing). And then for entrees, my wife got the caramelized orange bourbon salmon and I got the beef tips & tortellini in gorgonzola cream sauce. Both were outstanding and special. We would order again. Service was spot on, not overbearing but right there when you needed it. All in all, a great experience in a great restaurant.
Food was amazing as always, Mason provided the best service we have ever had here. Highly recommend!
Everything was great as usual. Food was very good service was good not very many people there.
As always, Varanese was great. Food was fabulous, we were the only people in the dining room due to going for an early dinner at 5:00pm.
Everything was good quality with excellent presentation and fantastic flavors.
Substantial menu options, great atmosphere and service. Rory makes an awesome espresso martini!
Service was outstanding. Food was fresh and very tasty.would definitely go back
Food, service, atmosphere and entertainment were all excellent.
The service was top notch and the food was very good.
We had a great dinner. And couldn’t have had better service. Thanks & I will return
Christine was wonderful and gave great suggestions/feedback on entrees and wine.
Food was incredible as always - bacon wrapped pork special needs to be a regular on the menu!
Ordered Brie came out cold and uncooked, sent back it was nuked until it was burnt, rest of food was not good either, this place was one of my favorite , but never again
Great Food, great sevice and they have live music you can enjoy and still hear to be able to have a conversation at the table.
Was our 1st time there, the food and service was great. Well come back 😊
Delicious, as always!
We drove to Louisville just to eat at Varanese. We have eaten there several times over the past four years and enjoyed it. Since we live two hours away in Cincinnati we decided it was time to treat ourselves. We were not disappoionted. The food was great..the server was wonderful and the music was fantastic. Wish we lived closer.
Then on Sunday, we went to River House!
I love the live jazz music playing in the background & the lighting, food, and service was all excellent. We came for our anniversary but will be back for our regular date nights because of the good food, ambiance, and value.
We had our 30th anniversary dinner at Varanese and were very impressed. The wait staff was totally professional and there when needed. The food was wonderful. We plan on going back in the near future.
Great food and muaic
We had a wonderful dinner! Great wines and cocktails before dinner. Then we ordered the Beef Tips Tortellini, Bacon Wrapped Tenderloin, and the Bourbon Barrel Smoked Pork Chop. We bragged to my in-laws about how great the pork chop is so my sister-in-law ordered it. All the dishes were great except the pork chop which came out too salty for her to eat. When we tried a bite, it tasted like someone had spilled an entire salt shaker on the chop. We have NEVER had that issue with a meal at Varanese before. My sister-in-law refused to send it back but she should have. We were embarrassed about this after bragging on the dish before! The dish was taken off our check at the end of the evening which we greatly appreciated even though we were expecting to pay for it. We still love the food at Varanese; the service is ALWAYS top notch. We'll be back soon!
Our car got hit out front on Frankfort Avenue - parking lot was full. Do you have security cameras?
Enjoyed a birthday dinner Saturday evening.....consistently the best dining experience in the area.
Thanks to all
