I truly enjoyed myself. The food was wonderful. I would suggest the Bourbon pork chop. The waiter was very attentive and made suggestions that guided our experience.

Our waitress was very nice. The atmosphere had an upscale feel and the food was reasonably priced. I will definitely be going again.

This was the third time in a year that my girlfriend and I have had a dinner date night at Varanese. As with the other times the food and service were excellent and the ambiance was nice. We went on Saturday night and the jazz group was playing which added to the experience! We will definitely be back again as Varanese is becoming one of our local favorites!

Typically have great meals!!! This time it was just average fish was over cooked and crab cake was too much filling

Good wine list. My vegetarian dish was very good. My husband ordered the scallops over risotto. He said it was ok but would not order it again. The toffee bread pudding was amazing. There was live music but it seemed like they took a lot of breaks :) Overall a good experience and we would go back.

We had new year's Eve dinner here and everything was fabulous. The food was delicious as always, and our server was wonderful. The bar service here never disappoints. I had a black Manhattan which was delicious.

My favorite Louisville restaurant. I had the Sea bass and it was excellent. We went on a Wednesday and took advantage of the 1/2 priced wine special. The service was excellent as always. We will be back soon.

This has always been my favorite restaurant in Louisville. The atmosphere, nightly music, and ( of course ) the food are always superb.

So happy we chose Varanese for our small COVID safe holiday dinner. Fine dining but outstanding value. All four of us (including 2 16 year olds) loved the experience. Service and food were outstanding. We remarked that we got so much more great food and amazing service here than another recent fine dining which cost us much more. We will be back.

Unfortunately we haven’t been in years, our fault, what a great spot, neighborhood gem, attentive, I like it when you feel welcomed by all the staff, we were fortunate to arrive on half off wine night. Bonus! Food, service, atmosphere was awesome! Will be back soon. Thank you for staying open during these trying times.

DInner, as always, was fantastic. The crab calzone appetizer was something new for us. it was delicious. Old favorites, the stuffed avocado appetizer and the flat iron steak entrée didn't disappoint. We took a lava cake home! Even with fewer diners in the room, it was still a loud group. Love the live music.

My husband and I went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. They greeting us with rose petals on our table and a Happy Anniversary sign! Dinner was exquisite and ended the night with free dessert on the house. We’ll back a thousand times over.

I always love the food and the music

I have a group of gals I hang with. One of us died last year so we came to Varanese on her birthday to celebrate. Varanese was her favorite restaurant and she and I were there to celebrate her birthday last year. Our server, Mackenzie, was amazing and we truly had a wonderful experience. Thank you. We will be back.

The night was great! Service was spectacular! And the birthday surprise at the end of the meal for my friend was greatly appreciated!

Great service great atmosphere heaters kept us very warm

First the enduring stuff: imaginative preparations and very fresh ingredients. Wednesday is half price wine night, which offered fantastic value for our visit. Less enduring but equally important in these pandemic times is the restaurant is perfect for covered outdoor dining with social distancing in an elegant setting for most weather.

We went for my daughters sweet 16 bday. It was nice. My husband and I got the swordfish which was a special. It had cheese grits and asparagus with it. It was super salty and lacked a little in flavor. Maybe because it had so much salt? My daughter got a steak and had ordered it medium but it was a little rare for her liking. Overall it was a great dinner and we will definitely be back!

Not our first time at Varanese, which is exactly why we chose it for my wife's birthday. Louisville has many great restaurants and Varanese is definitely in our top 10. Always exceptional!

We were in town for a quick weekend in Louisville discovering new restaurants and sites. We stumbled upon this restaurant and we were not disappointed! Food was excellent and the staff was top notch.

So good. I'm vegetarian but the rest of our group of 4 were not. The Risotto and Sauteed Veggies dish I ended up ordering sounded so good to one of the others at the table that she got it too--and we both loved it! The guys also loved their hamburgers and fries. I love how willing the chef and staff are to work with special diets.

And the ambiance with the live music--so good too! Highly recommend.

All of the glass doors were open so it was very nice with the open air feel. The service was fantastic! Mason was our server and he made great suggestions and was very attentive. The food was delicious. We sampled the cured salmon everything bagel dip, kale salad, pasta with salmon, and the chef's vegetarian dish. Wine selection was nice as well.

I had the flat iron steak. It was tender enough but rather chewy and covered in a thick heavy sauce that was so full of Worcestershire sauce that I couldn’t finish it. The Brussel sprouts were so hard and crunchy in the center they were awful. Certainly not the best meal I’ve had there and the room felt a little too close for comfort.
