Vamos Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I went on a Friday night, and they had a DJ BLASTING music at the bar. It was ridiculous how loud it was. Yo would think it was a crowded dance club, not a restaurant, but that was my only real complaint though. The food was great, the margaritas were tasty and strong, and the service very attentive, but not overbearing. I would give it the extra star if they would calm down with the music.
We had s choice of eating inside or out. We chose outst because inside was just way too loud. If we were not able to eat outside we would have left. Decibel level inside was ear splitting. Food was good. Size of the quesadilla was small and disappointing but it tasted good. Rest of the order was good.
What a FUN evening! Spending a few days in NYC (at Gramercy Park) and found VAMOS on the Open Table website, while looking for great Mexican food. So glad we went! We got there early for the Happy Hour margaritas ($5 each) and later ordered fajitas for dinner. Everything was EXCELLENT, including the free chips and salsa! Next time we get back to NYC, we will definitely return to VAMOS!
Really fun brunch place! We walked in and were immediately hit by the loud music and multiple groups. the service was a little slow at first, but picked up and our waiter was incredible ( I believe his name was Jeffery)! Really great for a friends brunch or looking to take advantage of the drink deal.
Overall the place fell short of expectations. With timeout NY calling it a must go to brunch spot we ventured here for a sunday brunch with a reservation. The host luckily had a table leave or our reservation would not have been honored. The drinks were weak the music was loud to the point of having to yell to be heard over it. Over all: I would have to give it 👎🏼👎🏼
honestly this restaurant was mediocre and our waitress was slow as hell. when she came to get our drinks we told her we were ready to order everything, food and drinks, and she told us she was just going to take the drinks and "come right back" then she came back literally 25 minutes later, meanwhile everyone is starving and we knew what we wanted 25 minutes before. she never checked up on us, only if we waved our hands to get her attention would she come to our table. we wound up having to walk to the bar to get our drinks because at one point we didn't see her for 30 minutes. the service is beyond slow, i have never waited so long for such mediocre food. i found this restaurant for a bottomless bunch, which SHOULD be unlimited drinks, but in reality it's not. the place is SO loud i had to scream to talk to the person next to me. i liked the music but it was too much when you couldn't even speak to the person next to you. in reality, i wouldn't recommend this place to anyone for any event but i had to check off a box to submit this review.
Decent Mexican food and pricing. Lots of interesting taco flavors but you can't combine flavors in a single order. Very loud music and hard to hear even across the table. Great for groups and birthdays. While the food came out quickly, our waitress was not attentive and service was very slow. Getting her attention to order drinks and food took a very long time but this seemed to be a function of our large party size as multiple groups of 4 seemed to be getting better service.
Came here with friends for Sunday brunch. We all got the special that includes an entree with 6 drink tickets. The drink options were a frozen margarita (pretty strong!), white sangria (simple but tasty) or red sangria (drier than the white sangria). As for food, the huevos rancheros and the omelette were pretty tasty. The torta however was not authentic, for example, it didn't come on the round roll but instead a baguette. Service could have been better because our waitress was so busy running around dealing with other tables we had to wave her down to catch her attention. This place was super loud and the DJ played some really good songs. Overall the food and drinks were satisfying and we all had a good time.
A very active gem on the outskirts of Stuytown. I came in a group of nearly 10 and sat comfortably for boozy brunch on a Saturday. Great deals on drinks, but the service may have suffered a bit because of how many people were in the place. It gets packed and very loud, definitely make a reservation for the mots popular brunch hour.
The brunch special is great but don't be deceived by the small frozen margaritas. They will sneak up on you. The food is delicious. We were a group of 7 and the service was sort of slow. I had to get up and ask the server to bring our next round multiple times and we waited for drinks often. This, however, did not dissuade me from wanting to return. I am sure I will visit again soon.
This was a brunch " date " with an old friend and the brunch menu was bland the drinks were good and we actually stayed for happy hour on a Sunday after the brunch (we drank a lot lol) tacos during happy hour are great. Recommend steak tacos ! Over all a good time for sure :)
