About Vallozzi's Pittsburgh
Family owned and operated for over 50 years, following in the footsteps of Vallozzi's Classic Restaurant in Greensburg, PA. We use fresh, quality ingredients, as well as Italian meats cheeses flown in from Italy every week. Our wine list is extensive, with many wines available by the glass and by the bottle. We can host your intimate date, family dinner, business meetings, or larger parties in our banquet room. Or come enjoy a specially made cocktail in our bar area and a small bite.
Vallozzi's started over 50 years ago when Helen Vallozzi was selling homemade pastas out of her home. Helen opened a take out restaurant in Latrobe, PA a few years later where her popularity exploded. In 1977, Ernie Vallozzi moved his mothers location to Greensburg where it is still open and operating today. In 2012 Ernie's son Julian expanded the tradition in to downtown Pittsburgh.

Vallozzi's Pittsburgh Ratings and Reviews
Crab cakes are the best in town! The root vegetable salad was fabulous, and even better eaten warmed in a skillet for breakfast the next day! Waitress Ashley was wonderful ...as always. And don't miss their signature break pudding with rum sauce. Get just one to share! Fabulous!
My wife, daughter, and I wanted to find a nice Italian restaurant for a night out while we were visiting my daughter at college. We found the menu to have something for everyone's tastes and the food was really well prepared and tasted amazing. My wife had the swordfish and said it may have been the best swordfish she had ever eaten. The service was also excellent.
My wife and I enjoyed our dinner at Vallozzi's Pittsburgh very much. The server was attentive and the atmosphere was comfortable, but the food was the star of the evening. I had Pappardelle Bolognese and would recommend it to anyone who desires richly flavored comfort food. The portion was ample and the taste memorable. My wife had Veal Parmesan. Unfortunately, it was over cooked. The breading was very dark and tasted scorched and the veal was tough. However, the pasta and marinara sauce that accompanied the veal was wonderful. I liked Vallozzi's red sauce. We really didn't have room in our stomachs for desert, but we had it anyhow. The cheese cake of the day was Key Lime. Key Lime anything is a favorite and it was very tasty. However, the bread pudding is to die for.
This was our first visit to Vallozi's Pittsburgh. We'll be back and we highly recommend that you visit too. Avoid the veal. Go for the Bolognese and top it off with the bread pudding.
It’s always a wonderful experience dining at Vallozzi’s! The food is consistently delicious and the service is always on point. A beautiful atmosphere, seasonally decorated gives your lunch, dinner, meeting or party a lovely setting. I would highly recommended a visit! The passion for quality cuisine and customer service is seen throughout this family owned and operated establishment, located in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh, it is a true asset to our city!
Saturday night reservations for 7:30pm. We were ‘helped’ by 3 different employees at the hostess booth and were finally seated 25 minutes after our reservation time. Every time
We inquired about our table, they told us it was being cleared. They were apparently finishing with a theater crowd when we arrived, thus the delay. We ordered the calamari and shoshito peppers. Calamari was tender, but a little salty. Two of us ordered the cheese ravioli topped with short rib. The short rib topping the ravioli was ok, tasted a bit like it had been prepared in advance and maybe frozen. Veal Parmesan & a papperadelle dish were the two other entrees. Our friends enjoyed them. The green side salad was fresh and lightly dressed. The bacon (?) crumbles were plentiful but extra crispy. Dessert was tiramisu and flourless chocolate cake. Both were ok. The food was...ok, maybe my review is skewed by the poor service we experienced upon arrival. If you’re busy, communicate that to me. Don’t keep telling me the table is being cleared and then walk away only to come back and seat folks who have just walked in. Service is such an important part of dining out.
The restaurant was more crowded than I have ever seen it so it was a little noisy. However, we still got great service . The food was really good as usual. My only complaint is that my ravioli wasn't quite hot enough for me. Valozzi's is still one of my favorite restaurants and I look forward to dining there again soon!
The best restaurant in town. The staff is friendly and flexible . I have never ordered an entree from the menu they are always happy to take requests and I have always been pleased with the result. We just returned from a trip to the bahamas and our seafood her was much better . Will return !
This restaurant had good food and good service. It was not overly loud despite there being a good crowd of people there. My wife and I had a nice, quiet dinner and enjoyed our entrees and the relaxed atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.
The food was very good, from the pastas to the steak and fish. Service was very slow considering the restaurant was not packed. We felt as though we were always keeping a lookout for our waitress to get a drink, as she wasn’t that attentive to our table of six. Not crazy about their sliced bread and dollop of ricotta, very bland.
Valozzi's is a downtown gem. We always suggest Valozzi's when meeting friends, attending a concert or a show and after attending a sporting event in the City. The food is thoughtfully prepared and presented. The beverage and wine list is top notch and the service is ALWAYS exceptional. We recommend Valozzi's!
Came for a birthday. Food was pretty good, tasted more homemade than gourmet (which I wasn’t expecting based on the ambiance). Server was nice but could have been more attentive. We also sat in a corner, which was strange considering it was late and there was barely anyone there (this also bothered us about the service not being more attentive). You also couldn’t see who was coming around the corner when, which tended to be a bit unsettling.
My favorite part about the restaurant was how it looked more than anything. No other area (service, food, value) might be enough to bring me back considering there are plenty other Opentable restaurants various places downtown.
Vallozzi's is one of our favorite places to dine in downtown Pittsburgh. We were pleasantly surprised to receive the same exceptional quality and service on NYE. A special thank you to our server, Louis, who graciously moved us to a more intimate table, after two large parties were seated nearby. The Shrimp Diavolo was amazing. But as Louis warned, very spicy. Looking forward to returning!
My husband and I had an early New Years Eve dinner at Vallozzi's. You had to order off a special NYE menu which apparently contained offerings from their regular menu. It was busy but service was good and our server took good care of us. We split an order of arancini as an appetizer and were surprised that we got 5 huge rice balls for $11. They were absolutely delicious, as were our salads. I had the parma with crispy bits of prosciutto, oh my goodness. My husband had the shrimp diavolo which he loved but was very spicy, and I had the branzino with yummy crispy skin. We shared a piece of caramel bread pudding for dessert which was seriously the best we ever had. Usually bread pudding has liquor or something weird added but every bite of this was perfect, caramelly heaven. It was the perfect dinner to end 2017!
