Vallozzi's started over 50 years ago when Helen Vallozzi was selling homemade pastas out of her home. Helen opened a take out restaurant in Latrobe, PA a few years later where her popularity exploded. In 1977, Ernie Vallozzi moved his mothers location to Greensburg where it is still open and operating today. In 2012 Ernie's son Julian expanded the tradition in to downtown Pittsburgh. Vallozzi's Pittsburgh has recently joined a mere 1,200 restaurants worldwide as a recipient of the Wine Spectator Magazine's Best of Award of Excellence and is the only Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh to receive such an honor. We can host your intimate date, family dinner, business meetings, or larger parties in our banquet room. Or come enjoy a specially made cocktail in our bar area and a small bite.

                                                                            Great start to the evening. Our waiter, Matthew was outstanding. Had a hightop in the bar area which was very accommodating. Ordered several small plates, which all were very good and had a great bottle of wine. My go to restaurant in the city.

                                                                            Great meal after some mediocre ones in the past. Lobster risotto with shrimp, lobster and scallops on top was amazing. Ice creams also superb.

                                                                            Food was great! More of a modern Italian feel and food. Artichoke appetizer and the charred octopus were exceptional! Dad had the bolognese and ate every bite! Very impressed.

The chef was very helpful and accommodating to my allergies which is greatly appreciated! Looking forward to coming back!

                                                                            My boyfriend and I had an amazing celebrating our anniversary! The courses came out in good time and was so good! Our waitress was so helpful and patient. This was our first time eating here and we will defiantly be back!

He was also the bartender and made a couple of great cocktails, made excellent recommendations for appetizers, dinner desert as well as wine pairings. Ambiance was great. It was atrial run for our sons graduation dinner

                                                                            Our dinner at Vallozzi's was excellent! We had some time constraints due to theatre tickets, but our waiter, David, saw to it that we were out the door on time! Our thanks to him. He was attentive in bringing bread and drinks and dinner spot on. our meals were all delicious. My husband's Osso bucco was "one of the best. The rest of us had pasta dishes, which can always be relied up at Vallozzi's to be just right. Thanks for a lovely meal. We will be back.
