First I had pink lipstick on my waterglass. Bad start to begin with. Food was tasteless, pizza was really disgusting, and to call this a pizza......I think the cook never ate anreal pizza.... best thing was that we didn’t had to pay for two dishes and they were kind to split the two salads we ordered as starters to share, directly on 4 plates, which was nice.
Lovely space, excellent service, and good Italian food within an easy walk to the cultural distrcit.
After our dinner I brought my granddaughter and her friend for lunch before a shoe and was extremely disappointed that they do not have child’s menu!
Food is good but a little over priced. Wine is very over priced.
We eat there all the time and have corp events there too with great success; not sure if they were unstaffed due to holiday weekend but no one really liked their meals. My meal was cold and sent back once; another meal was the wrong meal. A few dollars were taken off of each bill. Very upsetting since I recommended and made the reservations.
Food was awesome. Had appetizers that were great. For diner we had the veal Marsala and scallops. Awesome. Only thing that cast a shadow on our experience was the waitress. She left us sitting quite a few times. After diner we planned on coffee and desert, however, we sat with empty dishes and drinks for a long time. The other waitress and waiter were taking care of their quests while we sat. When she did show up we were no longer in the mood.
Great waiter, willing to give opinion and let us order things that weren’t on the menus such as shrimp and sausage with a Diablo sauce
Love the four-course menu! Small enough portions for lunch, but with a nice opportunity to sample around the menu. And it all comes out at once, which is great when you only have an hour.
The food was very disappointing.
While the food we ordered was delicious, I wish there were more vegan and vegetarian options
The food and the service was great; Alan, the manager, helped with the wine selection (he knows a LOT about Italian wines) and checked on us to be sure our food and everything was good Very attentive and a nice group of people
This place is adorable. The food was homemade and so good.
We had a group of 6 meet for an early dinner prior to a show on a Tuesday night. We made reservations well in advance. We were pleased to be seated in a side room all to ourselves because the noise level in the main dining room was quite loud. However, the furniture in the side room looked very dated, and was in rough shape. Not what we would expect for the price level of the restaurant. The chairs were peeling and etc.
At first our server was attentive and friendly. But after he took our orders he barely came back to refill beverages, or check on us. He was made aware of our time constraints needing to leave by 7:15 to go to the show (we had 5pm reservations). At 7:15 we were literally walking around the restaurant looking for him to request our check. We had asked for separate checks and did not receive them. So we wrote on the receipt how much to charge each card. He made a smart remark about how he would have to do math and add to get the amounts to work out.
The food was just okay. The menu items were unique and interesting. We each tried something different. The food wasn't bad, but not the greatest. The bread was the best part of the meal. Can't speak to dessert because the waiter never offered us any.
Overall, not impressed and too many other places to go.
Good food & good service! I will go back there agsin!
We found it very challenging to have a conversation with our friends as the restaurant was very loud...have not experienced this in past visits. Other than that, food and service were great!!! Valozzis is very dependable, something we like.
All three of us were disappointed with our meals. Flavors were indistinct. Presentation ambiance and service were ok, but the food was not what we had come to expect from previous experience.
First time at this restaurant and we found the food to be very good. The service from our waiter (Sam) was the best service that we have received in a restaurant for quite some time and we eat frequently at restaurants. There are some different entrees on the menu so we plan on returning to try them. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice meal in Downtown Pittsburgh.
Restaurant was amazing. Our waitress was great. The food was some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had!
First time there and will definitely return. Food was fabulous. Can’t wait to try another dish. Grandmas sauce was wonderful.
Our waitress did not interfere with meal conversation, but made sure we had what we needed. I ordered individual pizza (white), which was delightful and quite filling. My guest ordered the a lunch salad, which she apparently was very pleased with. All was good.
We liked our food very much.
Great lunch, great service and excellent food. Will definitely return.
Welcoming place to dine. Each of us ordered something different. The salmon entrée was very good. Linguine Primavera was delicious and the pasta Bolognese was superb. We shared a side of risotto Parmesan that was hot a tasty. Each entree was served piping hot and the portions were large.
We will return
We were at Vallozzi's for lunch with a toddler and infant in tow. The waitress was very gracious and helpful with them. It was not busy in the restaurant at the time we were there, so it was quiet and quite enjoyable. Each of us tried the quad lunch special and enjoyed each of the choices.
Beautiful space, good food, and very helpful service. Our group of five was able to converse easily and enjoyed our time there.
I had the best Caesar salad ever followed by a perfectly grilled filet of salmon over zucchini. Vallozzi's serves fresh perfectly prepared dishes. Our waiter was great. Friendly and helpful.
Reasonable value for a business lunch. Convenient location.
My wife and I had a great meal. We'll definitely go back. Fromaggia app, Veal park, seafood risotto, tiramisu, host made Apple-cello. Seated promptly excellent server.
Great food served in a timely, cordial manner. Wonderful night of dining.
I wasn’t overly impressed. Food was ok but not outstanding
Food and service was outstanding...always enjoy going there...parking is the worst part...far to walk to the parking area
Awesome food and service!
The Happy Hour is one of the BEST!!! There’s a wide variety of drinks for $5.00 or less. Also, there’s a great food menu.
Great. Very tasty
We have dined at Vallozzi's many times for dinner and lunch but found Mothers day to be quite a disappointment. Food quality was very average, service was just OK at best. we will go back given many previous positive experiences hoping it was a one time lapse.
Nice atmosphere. Good Food. Was a little loud and the waiter was not very friendly.
Vallozzis does hit home runs ... but their meals are grand slams
Delicious homemade authentic Italian food, drinks were wonderful, great service, pleasant atmosphere...would definitely recommend!
Overall, a disappointment. The Sicilian pizza was tasteless with a dry pastry-like crust. The pasta primavera was also tasteless. The arugula salad was fresh and presented well but the combination of flavors didn’t work. The Caesar was overdressed. The server was very friendly and efficient. Unfortunately the food fell short.
Tables were too close, the food wasn’t very good. Ordered a bread and oil tasting for an app and the bread was cold and hard and there were only 5 small bite size pieces for it being 15$. Seafood risotto seemed promising but tasted like the white wine wasn’t cooked out of it and just dumped into the plate, the lobster and shrimp were delicious but the risotto was hard and left an extremely bitter taste in the mouth I couldn’t finish. Very disappointed
