Excellent food selection along with a great Italian wine list.
Went for lunch. Food was excellent and the service very good.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and time. There were 7 of us visiting Pittsburgh for the body building competition at the Sheraton. The food was quite tasty, the service was a delight and the experience overall was very pleasant. We would return if in the area.
Excellent all around!
Celebrating an engagement
The restaurant is beautiful and our service was great. We ordered the calamari appetizer and received the bread with Ricotta and oil, as well, which was delicious. My husbands filet was cooked to medium rare perfection, however, his broccolini was slightly overdone and charred. My biggest disappointment was the Pappardelle Bolognese. The meat was dry and quite crumbly, and the sauce/overall dish was very bland. I have eaten at Vallozzi’s before and it has always been great. Not sure if it was an off night, but it wasn’t the best for celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary. Bread pudding was excellent as always though.
Wonderful meal from drinks to main course (no room for dessert) excellent customer service.
Great service, smiling faces on team.
We loved the burrata appetizer. My salmon, requested medium, was over cooked and tasted odd.
Because I had a business guest at dinner, I did not complain, but I will not order salmon there again.
We went to restaurant week for the special menu. It was our 4th visit and we have had good experiences in the past. I think they were overwhelmed with the restaurant week crowd.
My wife ordered the salad with prosciutto and there was no prosciutto. That was bad. Also, we ordered the wine pairings with our 3 courses. The manager didn’t bring our 2nd wine pairing until after we finished the main course. We had the feeling that the special menu was a pain for the staff.
On a positive point, the gnocchis were fantastic. The mussels and clams were excellent too. I would go to Valozzi again but not during restaurant week.
We tried Vallozzi's during restaurant week and ordered from the special limited menu. There was very limited Italian dishes available so we ordered something we would like instead which was the steak. It was full of fat and gristle and came with lettuce and chopped green tomatoes on top! What is this? The meal did not give a good introduction to dining at what I thought would be one of Pittsburgh's finest Italian restaurants.
Service was very poor. My friends food was inedible and nothing was done when he complained. Do yourself a favor and pass on this one.
Went for restaurant week but ended up ordering off the regular menu! Appetizers are big enough to share (mozarella and fritto misto). Pasta was amazing and the bread pudding is a must try! They have an excellent wine list too.
Anthony was an excellent server! Offered wonderful recommendations, fun conversation, wasn't too busy to check on us yet wasn't pushy or around too much. Wonderful dinner and experience
Being there on Restaurant Week, I ordered from the Restaurant Week menu. It was delicious (Chicken Picatta and Parma Salad.) My friend ordered off the regular menu (a four course plate of which I cannot remember the name.) She said it was delicious and perfect for her smaller appetite. There is something for everyone here.
Went for restaurant week. The food was fine, but nothing special. We did like the wine pairings and that was a good addition.
Excellent restaurant week menu
This experience was pleasant from start to finish!
During Restaurant Week er were very impressed with the options and the quality of food. Plates were very colorful with lots of variety and thoughtful presentation. We have gad numerous great experiences and would highly recommend!
The food and service was excellent. Would definitely return.
We held our coworkers going away lunch at Vallozzi’s Pittsburgh, and it was great! The food was delicious, the service was great, and the experience was tremendous!!
The restaurant is always a joy to visit. The atmosphere is elegant, the wait staff is attentive, the food choices are varied and always delicious.
From the. One thing we arrived until we left our dining experience was exceptional. Our waiter was very attentive, pleasant and went beyond the norm for four seniors.
Our drinks arrived promptly and expertly done.
The kitchen even split our orders for us and the presentation was great.
Two of us have dined there before but our friends are now singing your food praises.
The noise level in the dining room was insane. To be fair there were two larger groups there but the noise was off the chart. There were several tables of two (like us) who you could tell were struggling, like us, to communicate and enjoy a nice evening. I would suggest that the restaurant separate these large groups from groups of two and three simply trying to have a nice peaceful dinner after a long day at work. Food is great, service is great, value is great, noise......not so great.
We arrived for lunch with no one to greet us so we walked to the bar area and said hello. The person sitting at the bar said he was aware we made reservations when I mentioned Open Table. So if you knew I was arriving why no greeter?
We should of gone with first instinct to leave but gave it a chance and sat in bar as the only patrons. The menu looked good. Ordered the branzino dish and flavor combination would of been good if fish was fresh and not over cooked. Our second dish was the meatball sandwich. It was impossible to hold or bite into. The texture of meatballs were right but served lukewarm. After deconstructing my husband chose to leave more than half.
Wine selection ok, dessert of tiramisu is mixed with dark rum. Not traditional but just ok.
There are so many choices for Italian in Pgh, I would not return.
Always top quality food and service. Another enjoyable meal before a show at the Benedum! Both the crab cakes and chicken parm with pasta were excellent.
The Parma Salad is the bomb! Got it with Grilled Salmon and am still thinking about it a day later. Highly recommended!
Valozzi's is one of our favorite restaurants. We always enjoy our meals there. The food and wine are delicious! The service was excellent and the ambience is very nice. We will definitely return!
We had dinner before a show here. Excellent food and service! We are first generation Italians and this is some of the best homemade pasta we’ve had in a restaurant. Very nice for special occasions and date nights.
Our waiter was excellent
Food average there were 7 of us. Hard to screw up pasta....However my chicken Marsala was not impressive by no means.
Atmosphere was nice
It was VERY good. Everything about our dining experience was awesome. Only thing was I got a DELICIOUS dessert and couldn’t finish it (the few bites I had was SOooO GOOD!) and thought I’d enjoy it when I got home after the show at the Bendedum. I had to throw it away. 😡🤬 YES, a perfectly delicious piece of my favorite dessert and I was unable to take it wrapped in foil into the Benedum. Damn. We traveled by Port Authority Transit so I couldn’t even take it to the car 🥴 so unfortunate, but hopefully I’ll be back for another piece and an Aperol Spritz! Delicious!! 🍹
Everything was great even though it started off ruff with the rude hostess.
Great after that
Food and service were great. We were able to get in and out in an hour.
Lot’s of dining options in the DT Pittsburgh area. Vallozzi’s is one of the top five . Generally the restaurant satisfies most dining criteria, I was unhappy with the Half Chicken entree . Others in my party enjoyed their meals as the 10 oz Filet was amazing. Someone has to be third or fourth on the list and this night Vallozzi’s was !
Everything about our dining experience was wonderful. The dinner was outstanding and the service even better. Definitely a great place for dinner.
Had a group of 8 and everyone liked their meal. Chicken parm was delicious. Scallops were cooked to perfection and generous serving. Steaks were both cooked exactly to order. It was very nice to have no problems with anything.
What a great dining experience! It was a terrific Italian meal, from Appetizer to dessert! Veal dishes were fantastic, HIGHLY recommend!!!
The paint is all chipped up on the Muriel, along with all the cracks in it, it looks aweful. The waitress had no energy, no personality. The food was excellent. For 160.00. I would have expected alot better. Very disappointed in the service and atmosphere
Food was delicious and service was fantastic as always!
Great service and menu.
We had a group of seven people and everyone's food was excellent. I had the pasta with the walnut cream sauce and it was just incredible!!
Total evening very enjoyable
