About Valley Tap House
The Tap House specializes in Baltimore Style Pit Meat. This preparation involves rubbing a high-quality piece of meat with a special housemade spice mixture and allowing it to marinate for three days. The meat is then seared on a specially installed pit grill which chars the outside and cooks it juicy and tender on the inside. Finally it is sliced paper thin and served on a kaiser roll. A variety of meats are pit grilled in this fashion and served according to your desires. Popular choices include the Pit Beef served with raw onions and homemade horseradish sauce or the Pit Ham served with swiss cheese, grilled peppers, onions and a homemade honey dijon sauce. Additionally, a diner can choose from a menu including gourmet hamburgers, home baked pretzels, ale steamed mussels, shells & cheese, parm crusted halibut, and a full selection of desserts. Vegetarian options are available and our staff would be happy to accommodate dietary needs.

Valley Tap House Ratings and Reviews
People were nice...very inviting Sports Bar atmosphere...wide selection of beers...food was varied with something for everyone.
But! How does $17.50 for Fish and Chips or $14.50 for a cheeseburger hit you? A plain burger will set you back $11.50! $14.50 for a Fish Sandwich. Yikes!! Do the math.
Unlikely we'll be back...simply not a good value.
You go to a restaurant to enjoy good food... unfortunately the food was subpar. My buffalo pit sandwich didn't have blue cheese dressing or crumbles, both of which were in the description. Meat was bland, as was Philly cheesesteak. Others in ourparty were not impressed by food either. Disappointing... should have been half the price.
This was our first time dining here, we had a reservation and were seated immediately. The menu had a nice variety of dishes and a great beer list. We all ordered something different, a salad, a pizza, a pit beef sandwich and the meatloaf all of which were delicious! We also found the atmosphere not overly loud and we were able to carry on a comfortable conversation. We all agreed that we would definitely be back.
Came for an evening out with friends. Great happy hour deals on drinks and apps. Almost too much to spoil the dinner. The signature pit beef was good, but salty. The sauce they put on had little to no kick for horseradish. Service was great and sound level was great.
The food here is quite good, and they also have an excellent beer selection. We had lunch here after getting our kids off to their first day of school. The service is usually alright, but this day was horrendous. Our server was slow, incomplete... and when we asked for a glass to pour a bottled beer into, he came back with a greasy dirty one... The floors were also excessively dirty... hopefully this was just a one-off experience.
We had a brand new waitress and she did great (and was honest when we asked for a suggestion - appreciated that she didn't just lie to get us to try something or hide her lack of experience).
We had pit pork and beef sandwiches and they were very good and the value was reasonable. Happy hour specials on drinks were also good (2 for 1 on certain drinks).
Atmosphere was great for watching a game and bringing your kids.
Overall good time, good value, good food. We'll be back.
The service was great, quick, attentive, and funny servers.
The pit beef was a bit of a downer as it was not as flavorful as the menu lead us to believe. The portions are way too big, so very easy to share. Price: Great. We spent less than $40 for 2 beers (happy hour), 2 sandwiches, and a starter.
We tried the Classic Pit and Pit Hamburger. The Hamburger patty was awesome.
Also tried the Walleye bits. Very good!
Had reservation for 5:45 pm, but it was early, and not needed. Seemed like newly minted host/servers, as the welcome was kind of awkward. First tried to seat us in a booth by entry door, but requested one in the back so we didn't get cold, as it was freezing outside! Food was good, with generous portions. Overall, it was OK.
These were some of the best onion rings that I have ever tasted. I ordered a Cuban sandwich that was supposed to have some sort of habanero sauce on it, but I could not even taste a hint of flavor from it. I needed to put mustard on the sandwich just to add some flavor. Other family members really liked their food. My French fries were incredible. I will go back, but order something else.
Server was frustrating at times. It took a while for anyone to come around and when she finally did come and get our drink orders, she proceeded to sit and chat with other customers before putting our order in. It just took to long to get drinks.
This was my go to place since they opened. The beer was always cold and the food was delicious! During a recent visit we had slow service (at a quite empty bar), cold food, and the bartender was dressed like she was going to pole dance at any moment. I have taken this place off my list and I will refer others to better south suburb restaurants. Such a shame.
Valley Tap House did a great job of getting us in after the reservation made through Open Table had only requested a table for 2 rather than 6. A tip for Open Table....When making a reservation, if you go back to look for another time on that same reservation the site automatically turns back to a table for 2. I had placed 6 in that slot but when I went back to check for another time it had turned back to 2 people. I commend Valley Tap House for putting us at the top of their list and getting us in on a Saturday in less than 15 minutes!
Four children and three adults ordered food for lunch. Everything was served very very cold. Limp french fries served with corn dogs were very cold and unflavorful, not very tasty walleye bites were served cold, margherita pizza lacked in flavor, very dry overcooked crust with very little topping. One ordered salad was fine.
Children were given crayons and place matts to color which was appreciated. Our servers were friendly and tried to be accomodating but food service was very slow. Disappointing.
My husband and I have been here both with our daughters and without numerous times. It's one if the few non-chain restaurants in Apple Valley, but the service is never good. Always very slow and we wait forever for our food and drinks. So disappointing. We want to love the place- the food is usually very good, yummy brunch, good beers and pulled meats. But sadly we can't go back until they figure out the service. We've been disappointed one too many times.
The Tap House Chicken Sandwich and Hand Cut Fries were delicious, definitely recommended. The Butermilk Cole Slaw was spicey and unlike any cole slaw I've ever had; very good. The server was friendly and good about refilling soft drinks. Definitely will be returning!
