The ambiance is exceptional. The food is delicious, and the service is from a different era. I feel like I crawled through a time tunnel and found another dimension where people are kind and friendly, and act like they like you. It wasn’t just dinner.

The owners of Valley Inn recently added a pianist in the lobby and this really added to the dining experience. Great cocktails, great steaks, just a wonderful dinner!

We returned to the valley for a family visit and came back to a good old place we could always count on. your servers, all male are a great team....food was super hot and all four of us enjoyed our meals. some things just dont need to be changed....our only issue was our problem, should have taken a booth toward th eback,away from the loud booth directly next us. but they hd a person with hearing issue, just as we do and try to keep it controlled, but they were annoying. we'll be back next trip to visit dad. thank you for staying around thu thick and thin and covid. one problem we arrived at 4;00 with a guest using his walker. noticed your two blue parking spaces were taken, and if your patio/parklet isnt used so much, you might want to consider returing cloers parking for your guest. i noticed many dinner guests arriving with problems as we ere sitting in the first booth, walker,canes . might want to reconfigure it....

There's just something so welcoming and comfortable about the Valley Inn. The food doesn't disappoint and neither do the expertly crafted cocktails. It's worth the drive up the 405 from the Westside.

This is one of the few remaining classic restaurants in the LA area…and they give you the classic experience; from the impeccably prepared food to the super attentive (but never invasive) service. I stated out with an expertly crafted martini, segued into a perfect French onion soup, and finally a fabulous filet mignon. Our waiter was on top of it all and when we left we had a nice chat with the owner. The room is cozy, like an old world living room, and the noise is low so conversation is easy. The room filled up and their business is good, but this type of place will disappear if the following generations don’t go as well. Get out there and have some great food with service that you rarely find these days!!

Caprese salad with hot peaches was terrific. Great hamburger but brioche bun to big and sauce makes all too slippery and sloppy. Great fries. Chicken piccata also terrific

It has been years that I was here, very expensive so we all ordered chicken plates. My chicken Marsala was good, the others had chicken breasts that were very tough. It was nice to revisit but probably won’t go back.

I’ve been coming to Valley Inn for over 25 years. I’ve recommended it many times to associates who are visiting the area and are staying at the nearby Marriott. The bar is incredibly cool, and the food is always first rate. Every once in awhile they have Lobster Thermador as a special. If you ever see it, it’s a MUST TRY! It’s definitely the best lobster dish I’ve ever tried. The steaks are great, fried chicken is awesome (takes 40 minutes so order it as soon as you sit down). For such fancy food, the place is really casual. Come as you are or dress up a bit. Either is ok!

Unfortunately this used to be a neighborhood jewel. Small and intimate with nice variety and reasonable prices. Things have changed. They are “trying” to be like an upscale restaurant and have prices themselves right out of our business. Now they charge for their tiny dinner salad, where before it was included. At the prices before you didn’t mind have something similar to Winder Bread cheap, flavorless rolls, but now they are out of place. Their chicken, fish etc are just not right for non- special items. Ruth’s Chris, Flemings, Maestros has ambience and presentation and quality. Here they have no ability to have a hamburger without salt, unless you want to get 16 ounces! Check their prices online before you go, if you were a customer before. Also note that going early ir late leaves your table conversation open to all those around you to hear. When it has more people the noise level is higher and drowns out your dialogue. Their martinis are just like everyone else’s, however some of the upscale restaurants offer larger size martini glasses. The prices here are still top dollar. Again, I am sad to report that with so many other places today that charge similarly, you may want to think twice, unless you live so close and aren’t looking for a special dining experience for the money.

Wedge salad very good and easy to share. The duck was terrific and juicy. Hamburger really good but too much sauce on bun making it sloppy to eat. have sauce on the side!

Everything about our dinner experience was outstanding! Roasted garlic cheese bread was best anywhere, a "must try" when you are there. We each had aged prime rib and a baked potato with the toffee cake for dessert (but were tempted by the Hot Fudge Sundae, next time). Basil Lemon Drop Martini was spot on! Fat Tire on draft went well with dinner. Service was friendly and on time. Street parking available.

I am a foodie and know good food and food I wouldn’t eat! I ordered the breaded pork chop with a side Caesar. The salad was mediocre, the first piece I tried to cut off the entire breading came off and showed a thin overcooked chop. I sent it back for the coconut shrimp that I remembered awhile back were good, what came was dark brown almost black over fried pounded to thin shrimp, the sides at this restaurant are tasteless. I sent it back and thought the shrimp cocktail was safe, it came still frozen in the middle and watery!!!

It was a disappointment all around. Wife had the macadamia nut crusted shrimp which turned out to be way overcooked frozen coconut shrimp. I started with French onion soup that was tasty but barely warm in temperature. My entree was an 8 oz filet which I requested rare. The steak was devoid of seasoning and overcooked to medium…I’m sure there are regulars that come here for the nostalgia and the staff is nice enough but the food was definitely a lowlight.

The place feels very dated but that’s the appeal. It feels like a valley staple. Lots of things oldies having a good time. It seemed there were a lot of regulars or repeat customers. It was my first time there but I would go back.

We've been going to the Valley Inn for years - for special occasions. There's a certain charm about going there - from the small (10 seats?) bar as you walk in, to the familiar faces at the hostess stand, to comfy booths and the diverse (but familiar) menu. We've always had great meals there - with family, friends or just a nice night out. You owe it to yourself to go here - and enjoy a great neighborhood gem.

Valentine outing. Either the lamb chops were tough or the knife was dull. The lobster bisque was Luke warm and very thin. Not good . Best thing was my wife’s wedge salad. Generally disappointing.

Always a solid choice and one that I frequently forget about because The Valley Inn has been around forever. If you've never been, you should go. It's a throwback to a different time. But really the food still stands out. Even with the 40 wait for the Roasted Chicken, it is still what I order every time, and I am never disappointed. Love The Valley Inn. Highly recommended. (There's a reason they have been around for 75 years, no??)
