We went for my daughter's 21st birthday, and had delicious martinis! The food was excellent. Good portions and just good American cuisine. The deserts are to die for and you can definitely share as the portions are very generous. The Lemon Cake and Carrot cake can't be beat. I've had an appetizer and salad previously which fills you up too - but tonights sole almandine was superb! The chicken a beef dishes were good as well, we cleaned our plates and rolled ourselves out extremely satisfied.
Delightful evening - excellent food - good service - only downside was that even before we ordered dessert they started disassembling entire patio - while we sitting there, tablecloths, chairs, heaters were all being hauled past our table.
Caesar salad very full and tasty. Onion soup big and loaded. Barramundi very tasty and well seasoned. Liver and onions were cooked perfectly and very enjoyable. We’ll be back
Sent one steak back due to over cooking. Cesar salad was good. Shrimp cocktail was good but overpriced for 4 shrimp. Patio smelled like fertilizer, music piped outside was so loud that we could barely carry on a conversation. Menus were covered in some sort of oily grossness. Silverware was dirty. I was hoping to love the old steakhouse vibe, but unfortunately this fell short. Back to Montys I go.
Nothing fancy, good family vibe. Two stars because they served me raw pork (I ordered breaded pork chop). The breading was too thick which probably why the pork was way undercooked. They took it back and put the pork in the oven or salamander heater together with the rest of my plate. Did not re-plate the food and since the sides was also under a salamander heater, it got burnt. They didn't care and I let it go. We also ordered oven baked mac and cheese which literally looked like a boxed kraft mac n cheese taken straight from the grocery store. The servers were nice in general but will not be coming back.
Food and service were very good. Baked potatoes were under cooked. You were out of the halibut at 7:00 pm.
Valley Inn is one of my favorites of all time. Excellent food and service. The owners are always around and treat you like family.
Excellent meal and service. Slightly disappointed no Sweet and Low available for my iced tea.
Prices up, food quality way down. Rib Eye tough, had to be sent back because they would only keep trying to cut or otherwise play with the same piece of meat rather than replacing it
Prime Rib smaller and not as flavorful as in the past.
Won't be going back
The staff was very friendly and did a great job with service. The food was good. The restaurant is old and the decor and available menu items are
Seemed like a restaurant for nursing home residents. Not classy enough or trendy enough for what it could be. Food was fine. Drinks just okay.
Service was terrible.
Always delicious food, good service and good ambience! Have eaten there many times and it never fails to be an enjoyable dining experiennce.
We’ve been coming here for years and love this place. Last night might have just been an off night. Our waiter just couldn’t get things right and the food didn’t have flavor. Even their great blue cheese salad dressing had absolutely no cheese. ( maybe the waiter didn’t stir it?). I don’t know. We give them another chance after a while….
We reserved for 515, we arrived at 520 on a Saturday (day before Father's Day) they seated us quickly and didn't mind that we had children (twin 6 year olds on the spectrum) with us. The waiter and busser were excellent, kept my drinks coming, everyone always had a something to drink (never empty), abundance of hot rolls, every part of the dinner (food) was on point!!! Desert was very yummy and everyone was super polite!!! I had the best time here, a little pricey but well worth it and I looked at that beforehand so I wasn't surprised. Service plus food plus ambiance = well worth my money and we will be back for every family event 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 I adore places like this. I can't say enough.
i had been a lunch clinet further back im so glad there are there so man years my parents told me and the are ok form all this great attitude food is superb and good variety a great watier and nice decorations around g gold
Greeted by the owner couple in the front and while leaving. Friendly and pleasant environment! 5 star for that!
They could make my favorite Cucumber Mint Martini. Yummy.
I came for the fried chicken cause my friend said it was the best. I had just called and a
half hour later , 45 minutes before closing - SOLD OUT. It must be good. Will have to come earlier. Chose the salmon and it was really delicious. Love their brussel sprout chips Unique and tasty. Server was very attentive.
Always the best...thanks Boris!
Great nostalgic vibe in this valley favorite. It's a great place to visit over and over.
This restaurant is a San Fernando Valley classic, and it’s never lost a bit of its class or style. Food and drinks are always perfectly crafted to perfection and staff is always friendly, prompt and professional.
Very old dated atmosphere, took me back to being a little kid out to dinner with my parents very many years back. Prime rib sandwich seemed to be made out of old tasteless meat. Do not recommend.
Great experience and atmosphere. Went for my parents 30th wedding anniversary and they did not disappoint. Great day time vibe for a quick beer or burger or night time dinner with business clients or family and friends.
First of all, it was great to return to dining out after a year and a half of not. My wife loves short ribs and Valley Inn makes great short ribs. I love their duck with cherry sauce.
We also chose to sit in what has been referred to as the Wooden Room. John Wooden would always eat in the front dining area. It was very quiet (more so than the main dining room ) and warmer than eating in the patio for this night. The host and hostess are very gracious and welcoming. It was also a pleasure to dress up for dinner. This is not a coffee shop or a bowling alley! So, let's dress up people. Love the Valley Inn.
Great local space. Traditional American Menu. Tasty food. full bar - Martinis!
Eating at The Valley Inn is like eating at your Chef mother’s. The food is alway great and Sofia makes you feel like family!
Great food - waiters are so helpful - nice to see it was really busy - people getting out!!
This was my husband and my first time to this restaurant. For some reason we have never heard of it before even though it has been there a long time. The food was good. I am vegan, my husband is not, so I was happy that there were three choices for me.
The only thing that bothered me was that although there was a sign outside telling people to wear masks when they entered the hostess did not wear one the entire time we were there. All of the waiters and servers wore masks. I understand that the Covid restrictions are easing BUT the hostess should have been wearing a mask especially when there was a sign telling others to.
Atmosphere is good if you’re looking for a old timey vibe and a senior clientele. Great martinis and food was good. Service seemed harried and overloaded. Check in for our reservations was less than ideal: chaotic and frantic.
The prime rib sandwiches we had were very good. Probably real Prime Rib. Everything else was also very good, including the service.
All kind people
Just not up to snuff for us
Definitely seemed a locals hangout
But Montys is much much better
Great food! Amazing service!
This establishment is a legendary fixture in the San Fernando Valley, and it’s no surprise that it’s lasted almost 100 years. It’s a classic that never gets old, and its quality of food and staff are and have always been of the highest quality. Don’t cheat yourself, you won’t be disappointed.
Always great service.
This is an old school supper club with great food and cocktails! I will return many times.
Beautiful interior and what they did with the outside was also well done. Great food!
We were ignored by the staff for the first 35 minutes. We tried stopping several staff members asking who our waiter was. When the waiter finally came to take our order he asked my sister if she would like soup or salad with her entree. He got my mother’s order next. He didn’t ask if she would like soup or salad either or what kind of potato she wanted. He did the same with me. My sister’s boyfriend came later after we ordered. When he arrived he was greeted and given excellent service. I think it was because he is a celebrity and the staff recognized him. I was very disappointed with the way we were treated and the food was just ok. I would not recommend this restaurant or go there again.
Old time Valley restaurant with very good comfort food. It feels like the 50s inside and the place is casual in a homey way. I like their chicken entrees and their soup of the day. They have an excellent house made carrot cake for dessert.
Warm dining experience with my two girlfriends!
The food was not good...overcooked and the service was awful.
