We went to Valley Green for Mother's Day and had a great experience. I wish they had advertised their special menu as I'm not a fan of prix fixe menus for brunch, but the food and atmosphere were both great.
What an enjoyable lunch outdoors on the Valley Green Inn porch on a beautiful spring afternoon! Food was very tasty, service was good, and overall it was such a nice setting for a first post-pandemic lunch with a treasured friend.
Beautiful outdoor setting featuring the Wissahickon creek and it’s wildlife. Calm, relaxing and the cheese steak was delicious. Perhaps the best Manhattan I’ve ever had!
Amazing location. The view of the river, the geese, the ducks and all the people with their dogs is unbeatable. The food was great and phenomenal value. The hostess, Rosemary, went out of her way to take care of us and everyone else.
OK... the geese in the front got into a fight. Fun to watch!
Our waiter was excellent. The man that seated us was attentive and made sure we had another glass of ice cold water. The ambiance and weather could not have been better. Food, EXCELLENT !!!
And then my wife and I fished for trout out front and caught several for dinner!
What could be more perfect?
Food was delicious, service is very friendly and the atmosphere is beautiful!
Unique restaurant experience! Great food and service with the backdrop of nature trails and scenery. Only negative is that we would have appreciated knowing about the parking situation.
The location is so great, everything else doesn’t matter as much. The food was good. We recommend the pumpkin cheesecake and tiramisu. The Service was fine. Overall we had a great time because the park is beautiful and the weather was great.
I love the Valley Green Inn. We ate on the porch and it was so beautiful and quiet and peaceful. It's also a great place for people watching. It was a little chilly, but they had heaters that warmed us quickly. The food was fine, nothing remarkable, but quite fine and priced reasonably. I will always come back.
Always a pleasure to dine here. The food is great and the setting is fantastic
Very lovely as usual and despite Covid limitations.
Our Server was friendly but just ok - I asked for the middle layer of bread to be removed from my club sandwich but it arrived with the middle bread. Ordered a Diet Coke that never came until I asked the hostess who brought it immediately.
Delicious, gorgeous, and very unique. Will be returning many times I’m sure.
As always delicious and relaxing
Great service. The hummus was the best I’ve tasted- ever!
We went to lunch because we knew it would be raining by night time and we wanted to celebrate David's 70th birthday. The lunch was wonderful. We shared a chicken caesar salad and these amazing fried cauliflower in a spicy sauce. mmmm. Wish it had been sunnier and warmer...but the rain held off until we were finished our meal and the service was excellent. Got to look out to the creek and enjoy geese and ducks splashing around. It's the perfect outdoor location.
Now that we were all vaccinated, a lovely lunch al fresco with friends in a great setting was possible. Food and service was as good as always. The view from our end table on the porch made the day, and less activity along the trail than the last time we were here added to the enjoyment. Would definitely come back.
Cloudy, cool day outside so the propane heaters were on and the scenic view of the creek and trees starting to bud was spectacular. The food was absolutely delicious and my husband and I tried recipes we never had. Hats off to the chef! Our waiter was great too.
Support local businesses like these. They abide by all cdc protocols and the food is great
Our servers were outstanding! The food was great and such a nice setting.
The burgers are always good and we especially enjoyed the view of the creek from the porch. Spring bouquet and an omelette with crab and asparagus made it very seasonal!
Awesome place to relax and grab a bite after a hike or bike ride. Menu must’ve updated. Fried chicken sandwich and truffle fries were AMAZING. Hummus and pita appetizer was very fresh. And of course you can’t beat the location. Pretty shocked the food is so good considering people would eat there just for the location. Service great too:)
Went for some light food and drinks. I was good. The best part is the atmosphere.
Our sever was so friendly and kind!
We had two amazing dishes- the short rib and the scallops. We shared a reasonably priced half bottle of wine, and my husband had a lovely cocktail. We sat outside on the porch and overlooked runners, walkers, and the Wissahickon Creek. It is one of our favorite spots. I highly recommend!
Quiet and clean environment
Food and service use to be good , some how this year food quality drastically dropped !! And strange service . Sorry to see that in such a great place .
We come here often and are happy it’s been open —and safe— through covid. The atmosphere is lovely, the food very good, service generally great, and has a large and appealing menu. Great spot for special occasions though can get crowded on the weekend in nice weather so opt fir a weekday or reserve to ensure an outdoor seat.
Excellent food, service, ambiance and value. Will return soon!
Food was delicious. Service was attentive. Ambiance was one of a kind.
Great brunch after a hike around wissahickon Park.
Great ambience, quiet, secluded - tables socially distanced. Two dining parties of two each in the room-
Personable and polite service-
The worst decor in the world. Could be fabulous.
Cold, dusty, frumpy.
Where in the world can you get great food in an historic, quaint building, in a lush large wooded valley, inside a major city?
Love being near the water and watching nature. Service was great!
Absolutely incredible! Like eating in a piece of history!! Renee was an excellent server, and had a perfect hospitality personality.
Food was fantastic, with the chicken sandwich being great! Thank you so much for an amazing day!
Great service, nice atmosphere, great menu
Had a very good dinner, it was a bit cold in the dining room, but other than that a very good experience.
Very sad to invite a friend to dinner and find that the wood burning fireplace has been replaced with an electric version that didn't even radiate heat. Same wonderful atmosphere, delicious food and kind service but the fireplace was a huge disappointment. Not sure the last time I was at Valley Green during winter months so this review could be a little late in coming
Be aware that you have to wear a mask all the time at this restaurant except when you are actually chewing your food or taking a drink. We were meeting our son’s girlfriend for the first time, and that made the evening awkward. We have dined at many restaurants this past year, and we have never been subject to such a strict mask policy.
Wonderful food, service and ambience. Cannot speak highly enough of Valley Green.
