Valle Cucina Italiana Ratings and Reviews
Valentine's Day dining so you expect that things will somewhat slower than normal. Our reservation was for 6:45 pm and we were seated about 10 minutes late. Not bad. Our seats were next to the kitchen entrance. Not good. A couple came in shortly after our arrival, complained about the seating and slow service, then got up and left. Service was exceedingly slow. The food, once delivered, was excellent. It was hot, prepared as requested, and was delicious. Overall, a better than average experience, but service really does need an upgrade.
The ambiance was very nice for a romantic Valentine's dinner with my husband. We highly recommend the calamari for an appetizer. It was probably the best I've ever tasted! Each of our entrees were equally delicious. The service was awesome as our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant for a nice dinner out!
The food was delicious. The service was slow which I could understand if they were busy, but there were very little other diners there at the same time that we were. When we got there, there were only 4 other people dining there and by the time we left there was no more than 10 people there. Also felt the shrimp cocktail was over priced. We ordered two of the shrimp cocktails and a flat bread to share for appetizers. The order was placed all at once but the second shrimp cocktail didn't come out until way after we finished the other appetizers.
We have dined at this restaurant many times over the past 20 years and find the food to be typically good. Food was good on this night as well however the table was awful. We had a reservation for a group of eight to celebrate a milestone birthday and they seated us at the back where two tables for four are crammed into a niche next to the kitchen and takeout counter. There is loud kitchen noise, constant traffic and cold breezes when the outside door opens. This set up is totally inappropriate for a restaurant of this price point. Unfortunately there were no other options for seating our size group at that time. We made the best of it, but it’s unlikely that we will return. I’m sure that our $300 could’ve bought a better experience elsewhere.
Food is always excellent. Risottos are always a favorite. Appetizers are large enough to share. The calamari was perfect; the shrimp and scallop appetizer is great. My husband and I both had a steak and their filet is outstanding. And the staff is great..Jen is always the best.
Overall a good experience, especially for NYE.
Stephanie was our server and she was very good.
I ordered a meal which was served in one plate and it wA fine (the salmon was perfectly done-the large cashews on it was weird but I didn’t mind-served in a bed of cauliflower, which was done well too). Hubble ordered a barrel cut ribeye-but I’m pretty sure he was served a sirloin-or it was a pretty poor piece of ribeye. He ordered a side crab cake (this was very good with large pieces of crab) and a side of smashed potatoes. All came on large plates, but we were seated at a small table. Silly.
We live in the neighborhood close to Valle, so it has become our go-to on a weekly basis for takeout. Recently we dined in the restaurant, to celebrate our son's 18th birthday with family....everything was on point. Our server was great, the food delicious, and our family, who had never experienced Valle, raved about their meals. We ordered two crab risottos for the table as an appetizer, and, as per usual, it was outstanding! I went for the special entree, which was PB&J crusted salmon.....It was as fantastic tasting, as it was creative! The bread.....the bread....the bread.....love, love, love it.....dipped in freshly crushed garlic and olive oil with just a sprinkle of grated cheese.....so simple, yet so perfect!!! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. My parents, who live in Middletown, Delaware, cannot wait to come back for another fine meal.
Valles never disappoints! It's my "neighborhood" favorite for a really good meal and great value. Tried something different. Was OK but not my favorite. Love their chicken parm, veal parm, eggplant parm, lasagna, scampi, steaks. It was another great evening. You can NOT go wrong dining here.
We enjoy Balles quite a lot. My only major complaint is I cannot bring my best freind with garlic allergy here. Literally there is nothing she can eat here without garlic in it. We went to Italy and she was always accommodated easily for her garlic allergy.
Valle's is an excellent restaurant. Good service and ambiance. However it is the food that makes the experience. The crab cakes are the best I have ever had anywhere. Simply outstanding. The pizza is also excellent. The prices are not bad, specifically when compared to the quality of the food. I highly recommend it.
Was on a date with my husband. Food was excellent and wine list was great. I had the filet au poivre and my husband had the veal parm. With the size of the parm, we took half home. The waitress was very nice but seemed to want to rush us a little.
I wish the restaurant was bigger. The noise level of the screaming toddler next to us who wanted her meal NOW made it tough to talk. Parents were not interested in stopping the tantrum.
