Valentino's Cucina Italiana
Enjoyed this evening more than expected, because there were a number of uncomplimentary reviews (along with some very strong ones). I generally discount service-related complaints, because I can fix those. Our food was quite good, the place was popping and the vibe alive. Service was fine. Every now and then a prompt was required; but, not a problem. This place and Casa de Angelo are my favorites in Lauderdale. Shall return. Wish they had Baked Alaska.
Amazing dinner! We had friends in town who are huge foodies and that made our decision on restaurants somewhat daunting. I ended up with Valentino's because I knew that the "experience" wouldn't be too impacted by Spring Breakers. Valentino's delivered 1000% to their discerning palates and the atmosphere was delightful. The server (Derrick or Darren? and the Sommelier) was really helpful with suggestions for wine and helping us decide on items on shared courses. It was a wonderful experience.
Sat at the chef’s table. Watching them work was amazing. The food and service was great.
We have always loved Valentinos and this time was pretty good as well. They sat us so close to other people in these long tables that I could not hear my wife let alone have a conversation with her. So we moved to the bar and that was quiet. Instant claustrophobia lol. The only food issue is that I wanted to get some pasta as a side (wanted to substitute but would pay whatever it was) and they said we cant do that, you have to buy a whole pasta dinner... ??? What?? Anyway weird and non accommodating. Lastly my wife has a severe gluten intolerance (as many people are finding out these days) and no gluten free bread or pasta? C'mon guys its 2019. Food was awesome.
Third time at Valentino‘s and this time first of all the hostess was rude, the food came out cold, the service was extremely slow, and the restaurant was freezing.
Food was great but the menu is limited with not many selections.
The lines should be down the street and around the corner!
We have eaten at Valentino's several times and truly enjoy the experience. However the last two times have been disappointing. Every place has an off night, so we returned this week to try again. While the food was satisfactory, there was nothing particularly special about it. It was the first time we've been there that there weren't several appetizer and Main Course entrees available as daily specials. Only the main menu was available. Oddly, it is also the first time the breadbasket just had three pieces of traditional style Farm bread. No crackers no breadsticks, no butter. It was unusual for Valentino's. Also, it seems fairly obvious by the dessert menu, that they do not have a pastry chef at the moment. 1 panna cotta and three ice cream are the only options- for a restaurant at the high end of the scale, quite disappointing since it was my husband's birthday and we expected a wonderful dessert to finish out our meal
Food was excellent. Service very good. Price was more expensive than warranted. Would go back again
Don't go to this disorganized restaurant.
We arrived for our 7PM reservation at 6:55 and immediately was given our table.
Ordered a bottle of wine,1st course , and main course.
Finished our 1st course at about 7:20.
At 7:40 asked about main course and told the kitchen was a little backed up.
Inquired again at 8PM [most of the tables around us had no food]. waiter will check on our order.
At 8:15 asked the hostess about our dinner. Told she would check on it AND NEVER SAW HER AGAIN.
8:30 still no food.
8:45 found the manager and by 8:55 got our check and left without having dinner.
Also this is not a restaurant to go to if you have a WEAK BLADDER. There are usually 2 people on line for the rest room. When we left there were 8 people waiting.
So if you like to suffer THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO GO TO,but we will never go back!!
Philipe the manager was amazingly accommodating. Indiga (I hope I recall her name) was so nice. Our server Mark was excellent and the food was delicious. Come here, you will enjoy it.
food and drink are very good but still too expensive!
We were really looking forward to this dining experience and reading rave reviews. The four of us were disappointed in the menu and especially with the server who had an attitude.
Nice place, good food but overpriced
Great food, good service, a little too noise for me. My and me we were sitting in a table for 2 one facing each other and we could not listen to each other. Bothe dishes were amazing however it felt like my wifes was done first than mine so hers was warm, not hot. Table next to us, which are usuals in the place and were already there when we arrived, they were really dissappointed because we finished eating and they didnt received their food. Even all this We will be back.
Greeting not very friendly. Food was too salty even for a salt lover. Crowded and impersonal.
You're made to feel that you're lucky to be there. Poor value.
Table next to us never got their meal. Service was off
1 1/2 hours to get all 4 dinners. Two arrived and were cold by the time the other two arrived. Shouldn’t happen at a place that expensive. Denny’s does much better.
We always like this restaurant. The service was great. Food was just ok. Salad of endive boring. One entree was not good, one was very good. Too bad. Prices for this food were high.
Love this place! Great food, service and atmosphere! Best Italian in Fort Lauderdale!
This is a wonderful restaurant. We were there on a Tuesday night, so it wasn't crowded or noisy. The food was delicious.
Our first time here. Very nice. Upscale and refined. Food was great. Service to match. Not an extensive menu and they don’t offer gluten free pasta but we both thought the meal was excellent.
Saturday night is probably not the best evening to review a restaurant but.....
Food was very good if not a bit over seasoned with smallish portions
Menu is extremely limited with very few choices
Outrageously loud and service was a bit chaotic
I am happy that I went but will not return
We were prompt and were escorted to the bar to wait for a clean table. Three open tables were visible from the bar. I ordered a glass of wine and was billed one dollar more than the wine cost On the menu
We were finally shown to one of the three open tables and reviewed the menu. To make a long story short, the food was good not spectacular, the service very slow and it was expensive. The expensive was not a surprise but the underwhelming food was.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in town. It doesn't matter what you order, it will be better than you expected. The chef puts his own spin on different pasta dishes, the fish is cooked to perfection and the meats are all delicious. Don't make a decision until you hear the nightly specials. Fun date night spot, great wine list at fair prices which is good because the rest of the meal will not be cheap. Impeccable service.
Love this restaurant. We have been a few times now. Looking forward to our next reservation.
BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN FORT LAUD!
I think Valentino's is the best high quality restaurant in Fort Lauderdale.
Pasta dishes are very special.
Amazing food coupled with fabulous service made for the perfect romantic evening to celebrate Valentine’s Day and our Anniversary.
A great and wonderful dining experience, yet the food a bit on the salty side. Great ambiance all around.
As with all fine dining don’t go hungry. The grilled octopus appetizer was done perfectly but one tentacle? That was sad. I had the Veal casoncelli. Very good. My date had The Agnolotti Carbonara and very good. But we were still hungry so ordered Branzino to share. Nice two small fillets. But grilled and no seasoning. Just a garnish with a little sauce too little to put on one bite. 4 stars. Service very nice waiter CJ. The problem we had was our reservation on open table was then reported as a no-show by the restaurant when I called them to correct it they then had a message sent to me through OpenTable showing a cancellation of the reservation. Fortunately OpenTable resolved everything and gave me the credits. The reception staff at the restaurant seemed clueless and very disorganized. Just seemed like too many people involved I don’t know.
Food was delicious, however service was really slow. When we first sat the table was dirty, also my plate looked dirty. They lack attention to detail. Never was I offer Parmesan for my pasta, got tired of waiting for waiter. Also restaurant was uncomfortably cold. Would go back for the food but not the service or ambiance.
Amazing restaurant. Spectacular food, service and ambiance!
You just feel special in this restaurant!!!
Food was salty and the homemade pasta sucked very disappointed
The food was outstanding, but it took a really long time to come. Our waiter kept getting our order wrong, but corrected it well before any food arrived. I would strongly recommend Valentino
Magnificent food, great to see the chef doing this magic while sitting at the chef's table. I would definitely recommend it. I little expensive, but worth every penny.
Pre valentine dinner that is kind of a tradition.
Pricing getting crazy on scotch.
Improve a little in the amount of food served. To women that usually eat less, it’s fine but for the men in our party, I think they weren’t satisfied. Food was delicious tough.
