Our group of 4 had a wonderful evening out. The ambience at Valenca is awesome, beautiful decor in an awesome city surrounding. The sangria is the best! My husband was drinking bottled beer and switched to tap beer because the bottles were not cold. Our appetizers were amazing, we had the risotto balls and the short rib ravioli. Our salads and soup was also excellent. I would say two of our four entrees were great but the other two were just okay. We will def return and recommend.
We celebrated my Fiance's 29th birthday and it couldn't have been more memorable! When asked what he would like to eat on his birthday he said 'steak on a stone!' We have eaten there for almost every birthday in our group of friends in the past year and we love it every time. This experience was by far the best. Our server was so patient, attentive, and professional. Steak on a stone was wonderful (as always) and our he was equally impressive. Thank you!!!!
first time, it was very Good. The Risotto balls were excellent. My wife's dish was very good,great flavor. My dish was very good as well full of wonderful flavors. However my pork was a little tuff. In overall this is a great dinning spot. Will go their again, hands down to the chef.
The food at Valenca is consistently awesome...that applies to both quality & presentation; the service is fantastic also. 1 person in our group required gluten free and 1 required vegetarian...we knew Valenca could handle this because we've been there 2 times before. The beef filet on a stone is an experience in itself. I know we'll be going back again & again.
Over priced for average food. Green and Spinach salad were large but needed more dressing. Short rib ravioli were overpowered by the heavy cream sauce. Cakes were good and lemon aioli was very good but was not served with remoulade as described in menu. The lemon was intense but I love lemon. If you like something milder, make sure to request it on the side as it was drizzled over the crab cakes. Seared tuna was rare despite requesting medium.
Waitress was pleasant but hard to find and so fast that she put something on the table and walked away before we had a chance to make a request....like asking for a fork.
Over all, I would not go back. Sette Luna, a couple blocks away, is much better and more reasonably priced.
My husband took me to this restaurant for my birthday. It was our first time there, and definitely won't be our last. We had a drink in the bar area first, then sat down for our reservations in the dining area. From the bar area to the dining room, the service was unbelievable. We have been to every spectrum of restaurant, from top of the line to not so great and in betweeen, and this restaurants service and attentiveness was that of the most expensive dining place. The food was incredible and very creative. My husband loved his steak on a stone. I had chicken francaise which was a new take on an old favorite. Between the fire going and the delicious food and drink, this was a wonderful experience. Although pricey, this is tops!
while the food and drinks were exceptional, i would return, but not choose the filet mignon that i had to cook myself on a hot stone.
while a different experience, concentrating on the cooking while engaging in a conversation was too much work.
and although the fire place was greatly appreciated on a cold night, i had it to my back and the hot stone in front. i thought i was in a sauna.
but i will return; want to try dining outdoors
I wavered about going to Valenca, but I'm glad I chose to go. The menu looked very interesting, and more diverse than I expected. I had the seafood linguini, and I was extatic. I had eaten a similar dish elsewhere in the country, and had since been searching far and wide to find a comparable dish...this one was it. I was fully satisfied. My wife's shrimp had a sauce that I could describe, but it was delicious. Rissoto balls were also tasty. The wine menu was pretty extensive, and the service was very good. The first impression of the girl that poured our water was pretty shaky (left a pool of water on the floor that splashed on my wife's foot, then just walked away and no one wiped it up), but our servers were great.
Had a late-night dinner here on Valentine's day and it was very delicious! Unfortunately, many of the menu staples were out of stock by our reservation time, so that was a bit upsetting, but we didn't let it ruin our dinner. All our food came out promptly and I couldn't have asked for a better meal. The restaurant is loud, but again it didn't detract from having a great time. Definitely check this place out!
Went for Valentines day, food as always was outstanding. Service was good, we have had a better waiter in the past so service ranges from good to outstanding. Only problem was that they seated us in the basement. At first this stone room appeared very romantic. Unfortunately, it was freezing cold down there and we needed to keep jackets on.
My girlfriend ordered the angelhair pasta, and I ordered the lamb shank. The pasta was very lightly seasoned, and there was no salt or pepper on the table. The spinach was also undercooked. As for my order, the lamb had a very strong taste. I've had lamb many times and never had this problem with the taste. When I had the lamb shank at Valenca, I was so unhappy with the taste that I literally just took 3 bites from my food. The waiter not once asked us if we were happy with our food. She just took gave us the check and took the cash without asking us why we didn't eat our food. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Last Saturday night may not have been the best time to review Valenca being that is was restaurant week and the place was packed. Interesting the deeper you got into the experience the better the service. Front desk was struggling - you could tell they had it in them but they just weren't doing a very good job. Where was the manager? The waitress was ok but kept forgetting to bring things like bread and the cocktail menu. However the food was excellent. We visted several times and brought friends this time who had fun - and isn't that what it is all about??
I gave the food a four because I had the butter nut raviloi and there was no way that compared to steak on a stone for the same price.
I have been to Valenca several times and have never been disappointed. The food and service are always excellent. This time I went because Valenca was participating in Easton's Restaurant Week. I had the tuna tartar appetizer, crab bisque, and steak on a stone entree. The food was fantastic. The crab bisque is one of my favorites, with loads of real crab meat. The steak on a stone was a new experience, and I enjoyed it very much. I will definitely go back again!
We went to Valenca for my Step-Mom's Birthday. It was our first time and we were pleasantly surprised to find such a nice place in Easton, PA. I am from Philadelphia and a bit of a food snob. The bread was warm and fresh. The wine list was excellent.
I had the crab cake as an appetizer which was delicious with a cilantro and mango topping. The clam chowder was also very nice. For entree's we ordered the seafood linguine with fresh mussels and clams, tilapia with mushoom risotto, crab cakes as an entree and the butternut squash ravioli. Everything was wonderful, except for the ravioli, which was entirely too sweet with the candied cherries and could have been a dessert. We will definitely be back.
This was our first time to Valenca. It was a bit loud when we arrived by it was because every table in the place was filled. The sangria was delicious and I would recommend it to anyone going to Valenca. We were with a group of 5 and shared a few appetizers. I would highly recommend the crackling shrimp with asian chili sauce. YUM! We all enjoyed our entrees, however they ran out of several items and one in our party had to go with his third choice. The manager came over to apologize and comped his meal to make up for it! The service was outstanding. We would definitely return and tell our friends to go as well. Thanks for a delicious night out!
Overall very good food, thougth they could add moreb portiguise style food thoughs. If I didn't know the culture I would think we were at an italian rest. My waitress looked extremely busy and heading over to us at first was slow we waited almost 15 min before our drink order came back.. but after everything was ordered including dinner I felt our service got better. Overall our meals were excellent and I would recommend to friends Thankyou
