Went to Valencia for New Years Eve. Called to make sure that they would have the normal menu and was assured they would. Arrived there for our reservations and received a menu with half of the entrees marked as not available. Luckily, the steak on the stone was still on the menu as available as that was the reason we went there. When we ordered we were told they were all out of the steak on the stone. There was nothing on the menu except for pasta dishes to order. We left and went next door to eat and enjoy our holiday.
Wonderful atmosphere, excellent food and we were seated, served and waited on promptly. The restaurant was beautiful. In an old, historic building, decorated perfectly for the Holidays with a beautiful, roaring fire.
Thank you for the perfect evening. Table side fireplace, cozy, delish menu and warm accommodating staff
Service was awful. We waited over an hour for our food and my husband's entree was cool to the touch upon delivery. He sent it back and they clearly just heated it up, resulting in an overlooked steak. We saw our server a total of 3-4 times all night, were never asked if we needed drink refills, and had to get up and check with the host (possibly the manager?) to find out where our food was. Delicious food (when then get it right) but not worth the hassle. Too many other great restaurants in Easton!!
Friday Evening 6PM dinner for 2 Adults, 3 Young Adults and 1 Child, $195 bill. Overall, Valenca was not too busy but our table had VERY slow service (20+ minute wait for 3 bowls of bisque & hummus) with minimal interaction and acknowledgement from server.
Made a reservation for lunch with co-workers on Open Table only to arrive at restaurant & see that they were closed. Checked their website and google where both had hours for Thursday listed 10-12. Pretty disappointing that Open Table allowed for the reservation & more disappointing that the restaurant doesn't update their website with proper hours of operation.
We had requested a private room for a meeting on Open Table. This message was not received by Valenca, however, their staff quickly jumped into action and prepared the side room for us in about 5 minutes. Very much appreciated! Food is good and consistent. Location is excellent. Atmosphere is very good and if you folks could "jazz up" the menu a little, you should be quite competitive with the neighboring restaurants. Many of us who have business lunches in Easton could use another convenient place to dine between 11:30 and 2:00 p.m.
Ambiance is excellent, food was excellent, service was excellent . Can't do much better than that. A great way to end a wonderful evening at the lighting of the Peace Candle.
I came specifically for the HOT Acoustic Jam. The food was terrific.
Everything cooked to perfection , would highly recommend.
Wait staff was dressed for Halloween which made it more fun
well the waiter had to come back 3 times to ask what we ordered then 2 times to tell us that the cocktails we ordered were not available.when i received my main course the side of potatoe augratin were ice cold,so the waiter brought another dish of potatoes out and they were also cold by this time i had finished my main course which was delicious then he brought out the potatoes for the 3rd time in a little dish but they were piping hot. Overall i give Valenca a rating of 7 out of 10
Always a great time! Great food and spirits. One of our favorite date night spots!
This is my second time dining here. The first time was definitely better but this time was still very good. I had a pork chop dish and it was tasty but dry. My drink was amazing however my friends only had water and said it had a bad taste. Even the seltzer didn't taste right. Everyone else was very content with their dishes.
Food is good, but service wasn't. We can't order from the standard menú, we can only order from luch menú; not much to picked - the standard menú have excellent choices, and was a Birthday celebration and my friend never has been in Valenca-
Was a nice romantic evening, the foods on a stone are always amazing
I believe this is a Portuguese restaurant but the menu is not limited to only that cuisine. There is Paella and some other interesting dishes. The wine list is extensive and other cocktails appeared creative. I did not try any; this was just a family dinner. Parking can be tricky, valet parking would be a great add for this restaurant. Nice view, good service. Really nothing to take away that isn't positive. It isn't my favorite restaurant nor one I will frequent often, but there isn't a reason they can address as to why not. We had a nice meal and I will recommend it to others.
All the food was delicious. We had the pork chops and they were fabulous. Drinks were great as always.
I went for the acoustic jam session on Wednesdays...it was fabulous! It is a pricey place however. Hopefully they will prepare some more affordable options for coming weekly. But the food was really good and the drinks excellent!
Food/Drinks/Ambiance was great! Party of 8. Service was good. Nobody had one complaint.
I have loved Valenca since they opened. The food is prepared pefectly. I had a delicious artichoke francais followed by shrimp in garlic sauce. It was too hot for a heavy meal so I ordered from the small bites portion of the menu. Service good.
We were just a little disappointed in the menu. We were sat at our table and waited almost 10 minutes to be served. We only had an appetizer and then left. We had drinks at the bar before dinner and they were quite good. The bartenders were friendly.
Food was good but very small portions for restaurant week.
We were very dissatisfied with our experience. It was restaurant week so there was a special menu. We ordered off of that and it took forever for our salad to come. When it did it was very small. the second course arrived quickly. We then had to wait again for our main course. My husband ordered pasta and the portion was a joke. It was in a bowl the size of a cereal bowl. I understand it is restaurant week but we have been to other restaurants during that time and they don't cut the portions that much. Our waiter must have sensed our dissatisfaction and offered us a free dessert to share. We did not complain while we were in the restaruant because we figured we would not be coming back. I had a gift certificate that I purchased at a discount and they would not let me use it because they said the meals were already discounted. This forces me to have to return. We were already giving them a second chance with this visit and they blew it again. I will use my certificate but that will be the last time I go there. There are too many other good restaurants around the area to go to.
The food & staff were very good. I & my wife thought the noise level was to loud. I thought the Air Conditioning was just right. It was my birthday & I would do it again. John Dudding
The bartender made the best cosmopolitan I ever had in my life. And the food is always good . We particularly like steak on the stone with three dipping sauces Yum
Valenca's website says they're open everyday 4pm-10. Google Maps says they're open everyday from 4pm-10. Open table allowed me to make a reservation for 7pm on Monday July 25th.
We arrived to find out they they're closed on Monday's. This was on a handwritten sign in the window.
The service and food were impeccable. Outstanding attention to detail from the moment we walked in... Everything done just right. The appetizers were so good and fresh... The farm to table approach was obvious. A nice gem in downtown Easton on the circle... I will go back for more.
The concept of cooking your own steak on a lava rock is interesting but unwieldy. If you don't want your steak completely over-cooked you need a plate on which to put it. We had to ask for a plate and while waiting the steak continued to cook The grits were not creamy nor was the risotto. Both were dry and not particularly flavorful. The fries nothing special. My tuna appetizer was delicious. I didn't eat the pizza but the complaint was that there was not enough cheese.
EXCELLENT! One of the best restaurants in the area. The paella and steak on a stone were to die for!
when arrived the place was closed even though you took our reservation - obviously extremely inconvenient
Have been here many times and always enjoyed the food and service but on this occasion it took over an hour for our food(it was brunch) and when it did come the eggs were overcooked on three different plates, the waitress was fair in taking a percentage off the bill but I am a little leery that there is a problem in the kitchen of what was once a fine establishment
I like this place and keep coming back for the food. The only down side is the untrained staff sort of dampens the experience. Also, the stone cooked meals are not highlighted on the menu...they should be...makes eating there fun.
This was our first visit. We have dined at more than a couple different in this area of revitalized Easton. We continue to be pleasantly surprised how good the restaurants are. The Valenca proved to be right up there! We had the Tuna Steak and Stuffed Ravioli. Both were delicious. I str
Had dinner reservations for a table of 4 at 7pm on 21 May. Seated promptly, and things went downhill from there. The table was set for two. The hostess brought three menus, and no wine list. I had to ask twice for it. It took another 15 minutes for the waiter to even show up. The menu was NOT the full menu we have come to expect, but a single printed pages of limited choices, and which my favorite "Steak on a stone' was not one of them. The explanation was they were swamped with larger groups celebrating Lehigh Collage graduation so they cut the menu and did not keep my favorite because they feared not having enough stones to last the night. Drinks were ordered and it was a full 20 minutes before they arrived. So far, more than 1/2 hour and we haven't even ordered! Drinks arrived - a bottle of wine for the table and a pre dinner beer for me. Wine bottle left, unopened, and no glass for the beer....appetizers and entrees ordered and we waited....Appetizers finally arrived, and they were quite good. Plates cleared by a busboy...and we had to ask for the waiter to get another bottle of wine- also left on the table unopened. It was just under 2 hours after we were seated when the entrees finally arrived. The food was excellent, as we have come to expect. After clearing the table, the waiter simply brought the bill! We had to ask for the desert menu, and after ordering several plus coffees, we got the desserts long before the coffee even showed up. I asked twice but never really got anyone to be properly responsive. It seemed to us that the waitstaff that night were very young and very inexperienced....perhaps all of the regular staff had graduated that day! Overall, we were there for 2 1/2 hours...waiting.... We will go back as it is usually quite good, but I will check to make sure it's not a graduation night first!
We went there in a mid sized group and it took them over two hours to serve our entrees. The service was absolutely horrible. Our waiter was nice but the wait for our food was absolutely unacceptable. The food tasted good but no food is worth that type of wait. Would never go back to this restaurant which is unfortunate because as an Lafayette alumni with siblings who currently attend the school we frequent Easton very often and like to have restaurant options to go to. We will be attending the other few good restaurants in Easton and not Valenca.
The food was very good but expensive considering everything was a la carte. Our waiter was nice but young and inexperienced. He didn't offer any specials but was very polite.
I love how Easton is giving us variety in dining but sad to say that this restaraunt doesn't meet the standards of quality food along with a decent priced menu. The food is expensive for what you get. Steak on the stone is decent but all side items are ala carte and have to pay extra for an already overpriced meal. The paella was abundant in seafood but not flavorful and also overpriced. The pitcher of sangria, you got it over priced for an item that tasted like fruit juice.
My husband asked for a medium burger, but it was really overdone. My mac and cheese sauce was too thick and I expected macaroni. The pasta was shells. Our local Forks Diner has delicious mac and cheese.
The clam chowder was quite good. My friend ordered the minestrone soup, and the serving was HUGE. She thought it would be a cup . The waitress was kind enough to split the clam chowder serving into 2 cups so my husband and I could share.
We were very disappointed. It had been better in the past.l Also the menu has too many sauces.
We sat at a table in the bar area. We ordered 4 different entrees. The Paella had good flavor, but all off the seafood was cold. I did not receive a lobster cracker or fork for the lobster claw. I also did not receive a side bowl or plate for the used shells. We ordered the steak on a stone and a side of grits (cold, unappealing) and mixed vegetables. The mixed vegetables were 4 stalks of asparagus. We were supposed to receive asparagus, cauliflower and brussel sprouts. The catfish was also cold. The NY Strip steak was unevenly cooked. Our server was friendly but not attentive, she seemed more interested in talking to regulars than providing good service. Sitting in the bar area you would think you can at least expect to have your drinks refilled, not so lucky.
For the cost of the dinners, you would expect a higher quality of service and cuisine. They tote the youngest executive chef in the Lehigh Valley, I am sure she is fantastic, but this was a very poor performance.
We will not be returning.
