We went Saturday night for my wife's birthday. This was her favorite restaurant to celebrate her birthday for the last few years. This past experience was a big disappointment. When we arrived at the restaurant we told the hostess we would like to have a drink at the bar before dinner for a birthday celebration and she told us both bars were closed due to two private parties going on at the restaurant. We were completely surprised and annoyed that they didn't tell us this when we made the reservation because we most definitely would have chosen another night. We couldn't have dinner on the first floor (which is always our preference) due to one of the parties and had to be seated as soon as we arrived. We drove an hour and a half from Long Island for this special night and it was one huge disappointment. The food was ok but definitely below par due to the attention they must have placed on their two private parties. The bill was $1000- for 3 couples and it was just an average night....needless to say we will not be rushing back.

Great service, outstanding food, lovely ambience, tables are spacious and you are not packed into the room. All 8 people in our party loved the food. Looking forward to going back.

Great dinner with business associates. Very attentive staff. food was delicious. It's pricey, but you know what.....wouldn't you rather spend another $5-10 for a meal that is prepared with care? It's so much worth it. Highly recommend!

Food was very good! The owner walks around and talks to everyone. He was very personable and funny.

I can not say enough about Valbella. I've had the privilege of dining at both Manhattan locations; but have frequented the Meatpacking location most (as with this latest outing). Had friends from out of town celebrating their anniversary and immediately thought Valbella.

As always, the service is phenomenal. The food is nothing but exceptional, and the wine list is incredible. I can't wait for my next visit.

Waiter forgot one of our appetizers but the one we got was so unimpressive that we let it go. We both ordered fish and neither dish had much flavor. Service was lacking. Very overrated and will not return.

Food was excellent. The waiter had an attitude from the minute he handed us the menu. He did an excellent job and putting a cloud over an important business dinner. I will return but will openly refuse to be served by that waiter. He wasn't a people person at all.

Phenomenal restaurant and dining experience

Very nice place. Atmosphere is romantic and classy. Great service, very attentive. Food was good. Burrata Appetizer special was excellent. Main course, almond crusted chicken and lobster ravioli, good but not great. Napoleon dessert was yummy. Drinks were good.

We have been going to Valbella for some years now. The food, the service and the ambiance are consistently very high quality. It is reliably one of the best dining experiences in the City and one that we share with friends -- both from the City and from out of town -- as often as our budget and waistlines permit.

The seabass is to die for. Everything we ate the entire night was excellent, from appetizers to dessert. Would definitely recommend.

Valbella has a nice atmosphere and very good service. The food unfortunately is not very tasty. My dish of veal bolognese was bland and the pieces of meat in the sauce were very tough. My husband had a chicken and shrimp dish which was also tasteless. Quite disappointed.

Hosted an annual post-holiday get together with 5 long-time friend-couples. Valbella gave us one of their private rooms upstairs. 10 people ordered various items off the menu, all delicious and well timed. Service was outstanding, attentive and accommodating to all of our needs.

Bread basket was lacking. Only has ordinary bread and could use enhancing. Lamb chops were okay but small. Sea bass was delicious. Desserts were excellent especially the napoleon.
