One of the nicest outdoor seating. Great food and service.
Great place, great food!
This attractive restaurant was packed with the expense account crowd on a Thursday at lunch, taking full advantage of the outside dining on a beautiful day. The menu is classic Italian, beautifully prepared and presented by a capable staff. For the price, however, a vegetable of some sort should be on the plate.
Medallions of veal with Brie. Beautiful cut but 1 was over cooked. Octopus was terrific the chic peas and carrots were terrible. Mashed potatoes were bland. Very loud. Lots of staff but too busy to b attentive
This place is clearly not capable of handling the volume of business that it gets. A 2 1/2 hour lunch because you can’t keep up with the orders is not acceptable, particularly for a Midtown establishment where many business meetings are occurring.
Always the best. Cant get a bad meal a Valbella.
The best David is incredible
Wonderful spot for a business lunch. Excellent food, fresh seafood specialties, as well as impeccable service by polite, efficient, and nearly invisible waitstaff.
But if convo is critical, get a table indoors. Outdoor seating had a lovely atmosphere, with a semi-permanent glass roof and water feature... but unfortunately, that made it a bit noisy. Not a huge problem, but something to consider.
Excellent service and great atmosphere!
Very good food and service!
It was a very pleasant experience to celebrate our anniversary.
Great wine list, we had a Sassicaia with a chefs taster. The truffled pasta was wonderful. The veal was delicious, and they added a chicken Parmesan that I could have made a meal of alone. The owner came by and we just delightful. Very high recommend.
Excellent food and service. Not inexpensive but worth it.
Code to go here for my lunch break on a beautiful Friday afternoon and it couldn’t have been better...amazing cocktails and food even better...and what i appreciated most was they made sure I did not feel lonely even though I was alone lol, it was a great time.
Great day and outside seating was fabulous Great to be able enjoy a great meal outside
way too much cigar smoke
Very loud with music and waterfall. Floor was wet . Waiter were very nice and attentive.
The outside is wonderful.
Perfect place for date night or special event. Great wine and delicious food. Staff is friendly and attentive. Beautiful indoor seating and perfect outdoor seating on a gorgeous day. The BEST Italian cuisine.
Delicious food, lovely surrounding, great service!
I was quite disappointed. We were celebrating a birthday and it was the first time we have dined out since the pandemic and the restaurant, while beautiful outside ( which is where we chose to sit as a result of the pandemic) was too noisy. It was under-staffed. Service sub-par. No acknowledgement of the factwe were celebrating a birthday. In fact, owner only acknowledged and catered to those patrons he clearly knew. He ignored out table despite the fact that we spent $450 for four of us without coffee and dessert! Overpriced and underwhelmed for the entire experience.
Great service. Very personal. Owner there greeting everyone.
Menu selection great and large portions.
Great outdoor space.
Excellent food and service. The drinks were a little expensive, but that’s probably typical for Manhattan. Overall, great experience & would definitely go back.
Place is beautiful. Food superb . Service is excellent. Indoor and outdoor dining. Great for date night. It’s a bit pricey but it is midtown Manhattan. I think it’s worth it
Had a wonderful dinner outside with very attentive and gracious service. Was our first visit but will return.
We are Valbella enthusiasts. Superior upscale off the street outdoor dining between office buildings just east of Fifth Ave. Winter brought a very high glass roof and tall white curtains entrance. The sparkling trees are year round. Spring brought the turning on of the outdoor waterfall wall again. Indoors we like the bright high glass vertically displayed wine collection. Impressive decor and wine list.
Experienced helpful staff who excel at their work. Outstanding menu with seasonal specials and many fish choices. Especially like the scallops with foie gras, filet mignon with pepper sauce, lobster medallions. We have
enjoyed about a dozen meals since 3/20. Cigar smoking outdoors which doesn’t bother us or our older guests but makes us request a table in a non smoking area for young friends who avoid tobacco smoke. They adore the restaurant and its location.
Honestly it’s not even worth talking about. One of the worst NYC restaurants I’ve ever been to. This restaurant proves that there are worse things than a pandemic. Thanks for nothing. Never again.
Valbella was always a fabulous restaurant but now, Valbella is doing the best job during this pandemic. Their outdoor space is magnificent. The food is fabulous. And one of the best things about Valbella is the people who work there. David, the owner, makes you feel as if you are home. The waitstaff is amazing and has been there for years. The receptionist is both professional and incredibly friendly. And if you want to make a party, call Danielle. She, and the entire ValBella family will make it perfection!!!!
The food was delicious and the servers were very nice. We ate outside and it was hard to hear each other with the noisy water feature nearby. We enjoyed our meal but found it strange that for such an expensive meal, the waiters knew very little about the wines.
Outside dining is noisy because of a waterfall.
Inside was also noisy, but that was related to the clientele.
The food and service were excellent. However, for the price, I would expect the clientele to dress more appropriately. Many 20 through 30 year olds showing up in sweatpants, torn jeans, old tee shirts, etc., on a Saturday night. There were other dinners dressed more appropriately, but overall, it felt like a New York restaurant transplanted to Vegas, with a typical Vegas clientele. Maybe when the pandemic has passed, the restaurant might consider enforcing their advertised dress code of business casual. Or, maybe it’s just a sign of the times. However, we dine out a lot, and we don’t see this at other similarly priced or even less expensive restaurants.
Beautiful delicious evening. Always have the best time and food
By far one of the best restaurants in the city.
It was wonderful getting out after nearly a year in quarantine. We dined outdoors in a comfortable setting and enjoyed a fabulous meal! Specials of the day included Chilean Sea Bass and stuffed Tiger Prawn appetizer. What a treat and as always, the Veal Chop grilled to perfection! Looking forward to many more dinners in the future.
The service is impeccable, the food delicious and comforting, with the perfect ambience for any occasion
outdoors seating has wonderful atmosphere, service was great
We were seated near someone who was allowed to smoke a cigar. The smell interfered with our meal and was a bit rude in general. The food itself was sub-par. Very very expensive menu comparable to cipriani without the quality. No reason to come here other than convenience. $600+ for 4 people. This money would be better spent somewhere else. Insulting prices for the quality of food. Went to Scampi the night before. Similar pricing and much much better food
We requested to seat outside at the covered terrace but there were several people smoking cigars at two tables and we had to move inside.
We ordered Mussels Mariniere and they were not fresh, definitely dry and reheated, the Mariniere Sauce extremely salty.
On the other hand service was very good and courteous.
The food and service and always consistent and excellent.
What more can I say. Valbella is not cheap, but you do get
what you pay for.
