$25 stuffed zucchini appetizer still frozen at center. Tasty pasta but only ingredient in premium price bolognese sauce seemed to be tomatoes. Wine list sloppily prepared and very expensive. Service attentive. Peaceful environment.
Excellent as always!
Fabulous find right around the corner from my hotel. Service was excellent. Wine selection from waiter was also great. Had a special black ink pasta with seafood. Very good.
this is a well run restaurant ......enjoyable experience!
(i) Ardita the restaurant manager is awesome
(ii) Really great octopus
Burrata was AMAZINGLY FRESH! Veal Cutlets lightly breaded was SO much food. Great value for the price.
Lovely restaurant with attentive staff and some room between tables so you aren't right on top of the people next to you. Food is quite good, but not outstanding. Great wine list, nothing interesting in the way of cocktails.
We had an outstanding dinner and very attentive wait staff in a beaut setting with friends- what could be better?
Fantastic food, well prepared and presented, served by friendly and helpful staff. Great wine list, both Italian and domestic. Just wish they had a larger selection of grappa.
From the festival outdoor ambiance to the warm welcome you receive when you walk inside, Valbella never disappoints! Delicious food, terrific recommendations, and knowledgeable and personable staff make this one of our favorite restaurants in NYC!
My FAVORITE restaurant of all time! A must every time I visit NYC. 😊
Valbella provides wonderful spiced food at reasonable prices with excellent service. The ambience and the friendliness of the staff are a huge plus!
Val Bella was absolutely amazing. My wife and I were in town to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary and wanted a romantic anniversary dinner. We pared the list down and down before settling on Valbella because of the reviews online, the menu, and the pictures. Everything was exactly what we were hoping for. The restaurant leaves plenty of space between tables and the whole interior is well designed and decorated. Our server, Ertis, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable about the menu and gave perfect recommendations. All three courses we had the appetite for were incredible. The flavors of every dish paired so well and the presentation was always excellent. I got the veal cut with arugula and tomatoes while my wife chose pasta with a vodka cream sauce. The portions left us feeling pleasantly full. I was especially impressed with how fresh all the vegetables and greens were. The lava cake...get the lava cake. It was a perfect cap to the meal. Rich and flavorful without being overly decadent.
I honestly can’t recommend this restaurant enough. From the moment we walked in through their courtyard until we left, my wife and I had the best possible anniversary dinner experience, thanks to Ertis and all of the staff.
Valbella is conveniently located in Midtown. We heard about Valbella being known for its freshly made pasta, and the restaurant did not disappoint. I would recommend Valbella more for a date night or romantic evening.
Our manager/ hostess Giana was terrific...very friendly and accommodating. She is an excellent singer as well. We enjoyed the music.
Pastas and fish special (branding) were AMAZING!! Staff really gave you space - cared well for us while also not interrupting conversation too much
fantastic food, service, and environment. space is very comfortable and conversations can be had at normal speaking volumes. Chef is very flexible, good wine list, many affordable wines. Very friendly hostess.
Great food and location! Wonderful atmosphere! What really made it over the top was our wonderful waiter Lino! I wish they all could be like him!!
Great experience. They really know how to treat their guests.
Place was amazing. Thank you. Had amazing food and great service.
Excellent food, beautifully presented. Great service, attentive but not intrusive. Too expensive to be a routine destination, but great for a special occasion.
We were so pleasantly surprised by how lovely this restaurant is. The service was impeccable and so genuinely friendly without being annoying. It was special to have a pianist show up and play delightful music to accompany, beautiful enough to listen to and enjoy yet not the least bit disruptive of our meals. The fruti di mare and branzino were outstanding, and the chocolate souffle was superb. Valbella is a place to which we plan to return. Thank you for a memorable meal and evening.
The food and service was superb. The only disappointment we had was that Valbella was listed on "Restaurant Week" and when we arrived, we were told they didn't participate. So our lunch cost us 3x what we thought. We looked at it as a "treat" for ourselves but want to figure out why that happened.
It was just ok.
I had an incredible meal here. It’s very easy to spend $$ on a dinner in NYC, but this dinner was above and beyond. This experience was worth every penny. Our server Daniel was outstanding! We had a lovely evening.
The food was fantastic. Jose and Christian were great. The entire staff made us feel like family. Great night and we will certainly be back.
Excelente comida , la carta de vinos buenísimo. Y muy buen servicio.
Love this place! The food is excellent and the service outstanding. The waitstaff went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect experience. The ambiance is upscale modern.
Lugar muy recomendable
After having been to the meatpacking location, I was a true Valbella fan. My husband and I had opted to try the midtown location. First of all, the resturant is extremely difficult to find and is set back from the street. When we arrived, we noticed that the resturant was empty with a man playing piano on a portable keyboard. The interior was sterile looking with white walls and a blue velvet curtain on the back wall. The servers were all very pleasant however ther service did not compare to the meatpacking location
Very disappointed! Although the service was decent, I cannot say the same about the food ! It’s definitely not Italian ! My endive salad was overly abundant with blue cheese . The pasta with broccoli rabe was covered with sausage meat . The trick to any cuisine is the correct balance between all the ingredients and this restaurant is surely lacking it . Huge portions and high prices ! There must be a reason why it was empty on a Saturday evening . Furthermore as we were finishing our main course , the waiters took the liberty of moving tables around the dining room ,for the next day setup, I guess!
If you want to enjoy a good Italian meal go somewhere else!
Great food and service, a bit over priced, but mid-town Manhattan
I use this restaurant for many business lunches and dinners and have found the food and atmasphire to be consistent , warm , friendly and inviting.
My clients have all felt welcomed and appreciated as if they were regulars.
We had a wonderful diner. The wait staff was great too!
I ate at the Valbella in meat packing district and it was amazing. The one in midtown the food was not great at all. Came out warm not hot at all. Overall experience was sub par. Definitely not a high end restaurant but they charge you for it.
The food was good, however the experience was only 3 stars. The hostess was poor- she hardly spoke. She did not welcome us to the restaurant or speak when we left, she just handed us our coats. We were a party of 7 arriving early for pre-theater dinner, although we had a reservation it did not seem they were ready for guests as they were still setting up the tables around us. The food was good and the waiters were very efficient, but there was no warmth or interest in engaging the customers.
A very pleasant surprise!
Very fancy and upscale vibe. The hosts/hostesses are dressed to the nines. The food is good. Service is attentive. Have been there twice and both times were good enough to go back.
Service wasn’t that friendly and food was a little bland, not flavorful
We enjoyed the food and service but they sat us upstairs in a closed in room away from the main restaurant and singer. I was surprised since there were tables downstairs and we had a reservation.
