View Private Dining DetailsExceptional Italian restaurant. Reliably excellent food and service.
Ridiculously overpriced. Would never recommend. Tasteless.
Amazing wine and food was out of this world incredible. Great and front staff.
Went to Valbella on a few recommendations-unfortunately I don't understand the hype. While the service was exemplary, the food did not live up to expectations at all. We ordered a burratta appetizer which was pretty generic. Entrees were penne vodka and a chicken/shrimp dish. The penne dish was no better quality than any "run of the mill" Italian restaurant-the vodka sauce was more like just tomato sauce, and extremely bland. I've tasted better from a bottle. The chicken dish was also extremely under-seasoned and bland. Some salt, pepper, and garlic would have gone a long way. We will not return-there are plenty of better restaurants in the area with superior food for less money.
Every time I go to Valbella Tyne experience gets better and better. Outstanding foods, the best service and just a wonderful ambiance.
Just the best.
Valbella’s never fails. True gem worth every penny!
Food was horrible. Chef must have gone home. Just terrible.
The place was fantastic I cannot complain about it everything was on point. I will go back
Always unforgettable! The best Italian restaurant in Greenwich.
We were cold
Very noisy room
Dishes not very good / not bad ...so/so... for $100 by person...
Sorry will not come back
Still great place to eat ,22 years later where we got married.
The best place for superb food and service. No place is more focused on a great experience than the staff of Valbella’s. Certainly not inexpensive but if you want a perfect result for a business meeting of family event, it’s at this restaurant!
Terrible experience. I booked a reservation 4 weeks before Valentine’s Day to make sure I got a spot. Low and behold they took reservations and kept taking them so when I got there and waited in line for 30 min they said it would be a “30 min” wait. Mind you we had a reservation. We waited 30 min and they said another 30 min. Then waited about 15 min. Checked again and they said 30 min. Apparently they told everyone 30 min and we talked to a couple next to us and they said they had been there over an hour and a half (at reservation time) and we’re told they only have 30 min left to be seated. Terrible experience. Save your money. We went to Louie’s Italian restaurant and we’re seated right away and food was delicious
STOP!! DON’T GO!!! They seemed to have massively overbooked for Valentine’s day and did not honor our reservation for 8pm. We were left along with two dozen other people waiting nearly 45 minutes for our table. The dining area was unattractive with a series of two seat tables spaced very closely together. The restaurant did not even offer an apology or a drink while we waited. We walked out after we were finally seated, when nearly 10 minutes passed, and nobody even came to take a drink order or leave menus. This place is truly awful. I was warned by a friend not to go. I wish I had listened. I didn’t get to try any food, but I saw waiters rushing around with trays, and the food looked unimpressive. The failure to offer an apology or drink was just inexcusable. I don’t know how any restaurant could treat its customers this way, especially on Valentine’s Day. After leaving, we wound up at a different restaurant and had a very nice meal
Food was excellent but we weren’t seated until 815 for a 730 reservation. The restaurant took way too many reservations for what they could handle for Valentine’s Day. Service ended up being below their normal standards (had to ask three times for bread for example) because the waiter was overwhelmed.
Meal and service was excellent. Pricing can be high - especially drinks at the bar. $48 for a Manhattan and glass of Champagne
This is one of our favorite restaurants. Went for Valentines Day and it was horrible, food basically thrown at you service horrible food not as good as usual actually not good. Dessert was ordered with dinner since it's one you have to order early dessert was put down and I couldn't get a waiter for coffee. What a disappointment...never again
The restaurant was set special for Valentines Day. It looked great with all the tables for two and they served all excellently. Service was great and food was the usual excellent. Made for a great night. Thanks Valbella.
Restaurant was way overbooked. Valet parking wait was long, table wait was long, poorly organized. Prices not shown on menu...$50 for the Chilean Seabass entree special was a crime...this is not NYC..Service did their best under the circumstances.
Birthday food and service were excellent
Great meal as usual in the wine cellar, away from the busy Saturday night tables above. Appetizers and chocolate soufflé were delicious as usual and the meals did not disappoint! A fabulous experience.
We were anticipating a memorable evening celebrating two big birthdays. The service was slow and not very friendly. The food was just, OK. I am very sorry to report that nothing was notable or memborable except the bill.
Great place, great food!
Excellent meal and service - wonderful, homemade pastas. Wine list is very extensive, but overpriced - need some better value options.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Valbella. We enjoyed a 4-course meal that was excellent. We didn't have room for dessert but I have no doubt that it would have been very good. Everything we ordered was delicious including the scallops w/cognac sauce appetizer, the salad with cranberries and spiced pear, the gluten free seafood pasta (lobster, crab, shrimp), and the chicken fra diavolo with hot cherry peppers and cognac sauce. The Cabernet by the glass was bold and delicious and paired nicely with everything we ordered.
Beautiful cozy dining room with fireplace. Excellent service, always there when you need them, great advise. Best was food, had a grilled octopus appetizer to die for
This was my second time dining at Valbella. Another wonderful experience. Our waiter from our first visit was behind the bar this time and recognized us though it’s been months since we were there. The team treated us like regulars and we had a great time for my wofe’s Birthday dinner.
Excellent as always! This restaurant is always worth the visit. My go-to for a more formal Italian dinner.
We have always loved Valbella and patronize it quite regularly. We brought our whole family (9 people) for a recent holiday and enjoyed a delicious and well served meal. There was a special pasta dish, which 3 of us ordered as appetizers (half servings).
When we returned home I inquired as to the bill and was told that it was more expensive than customary because the HALF orders of pasta were $75.00 each. When a “special” is that expensive, I truly believe the price should be listed OR the waiter should mention it. (All other FULL orders of pasta were in the $25.00 range, so this was completely unexpected).
We enjoyed our meal but unfortunately we now feel that we were mistreated.
Classic Italian restaurant. Not a lot of surprises, but does everything very well. Food, service and ambiance are all first rate.
Had New Years evening dinner. Service was good, but 2 of 3 entrees were cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen. Disappointing as entree's were $40+ dollars each. I think they just weren't prepared for being sold out for the holiday.
Wine list is OK but very pricey.
You pay for the neighborhood here - this is Greenwich Ct - hedge fund heaven.
Always perfect!
Food / Service off the charts as usual, We were there for the 1st time probably 20 Years ago and have been there several times over the years. The food and the service was fantastic 20 years ago and has always been consistent. Recommend this place to everyone.
Great food and amazing atmosphere! Great for date nights or special occasions as well.
Holiday lunch. Great decor. Comfortable setting. Outstanding service and excellent food. Highly recommended. Apps were delicious (oysters, half Penne). Wine kept flowing! Entrees were also delicious and plentiful (scallops, Chilean sea bass). Service was attentive. Food served at proper intervals.
Overall, consistently excellent. The food, service and wine selection first rate.
Very disappointing. The Ceasar salad was not great and who puts cucumbers on it? The veal dish was boring. Beautiful place and great service but totally overrated and overpriced. No comparison to my favorite place La Cremaillere. Sorry.
I used to frequent this restaurant and came back after an extended break. The holiday decor was inviting. We were well dressed but perhaps not a known customer and we were seated in the room where folks were dressed more casually than in the other dining room. Aside from that, we can state unequivocally that the service was impeccable; prompt, attentive, sophisticated and never intrusive. The food was great: burrata, ravioli with short ribs, pappardelle. The cocktails were excellent. The chocolate souffle was wonderful but the cheesecake was just a sliver. It seemed dwarfed by the berries that accompanied it. This is expensive, fine dining -- but worth the experience.
Always wonderful food, lovely presentation and well trained wait staff. We had friend from Asia and they enjoyed themselves and seeing the wine cellar. Thank you.
Very accommodating staff, food very good, noise level a bit high if you're seated near a large party
