Last night they were open due to coronavirus! Extremely slow service even with half their tables taken out! Even forgot we were there before seating us! Sure they were stressed!
Loved everything about our dinner! We sat at the bar and received excellent service and the most delicious old fashioned I have ever had! Food was amazing, had the brook trout and Brussel sprouts for dinner and crab cakes to start. All delicious!!
Excellent service from Wills, great ambiance and very good food.
The chophouse was overall decent. Average to good steakhouse food terrible service.
Good not great - might try somewhere else before returning but no issues overall. Good service and good food.
Fun dinner after a day of skiing. The magician is great!
Rude server. Food is not worth for the amount must pay.
Not a place for a nice dinner. Really loud bar with live music. Decent food.
Vail Chop house was delicious and convenient to our hotel. We really enjoyed our meal in the casual dining environment. Would highly recommend!
It is a very expensive, not so good food and very noisy
We had the Poutine fries for an appetizer & they were very tasty. For dinner we split the Tomahawk Rib Eye, which was cooked medium rare as ordered and slathered with delicious garlic butter sauce. It came with yukon gold mashed potatoes that tasted like a blend of fresh & powdered potatoes. Strange flavor & not something I would order if given the choice. Our server was very attentive and accommodating. The overall ambience of the place was underwhelming. Nothing special for a steak house.
Awesome food, awesome experience!
The name is deceiving. This is not a place you want to go if you are seeking a quiet or romantic dinner. The restaurant area sits behind their VERY busy bar and the band/karaoke was going strong through part of our dinner. It was incredibly loud and almost obnoxious at times, as patrons were allowed to help the band sing. If you are looking to talk with your fellow guests at your table or even hear yourself think, this isn’t the place for you. The food was good, but overpriced for the atmosphere. Not what we expected at all.
Terrible Service. Ruimed the whole experience. Food was served cold.
Great golf and service overall. When we entered at 6:05pm the live music was literally ear-piercing. I guess it was carryover from after the lifts closed, but as a musician myself who loves live music I couldn’t believe anyone in the room felt comfortable with the decibel level. Two staff that I mentioned the sound level to admitted that it was terribly high but they had no control because the entertainment was somehow tied to management or ownership. I literally would have left hungry except that the music stopped 5 min after we got there. Great steak. Pretty good wine menu. Right at the bottom of the gondola in Lionshead!
Great service, great food.
Food was mediocre. Tasted and looked like chain restaurant quality. Over-priced.
Server was polite, but he was assigned too many tables, so he was not attentive to our requests for service. Water glasses went unfilled.
Absolutely fantastic service provided by Andrew and GM Tony. We each had the filet, which was prepared perfectly and matched beautifully with the brussel sprouts and asparagus.
Honestly, we’ve eaten at every restaurant that the valley has to offer, and it’s safe to say that The Chop House has the best filet, hands down.
Looking forward to our next dining experience!
Restaurant was good, our server was great. However the manager was shockingly rude. Two of us in our party ordered medium rare steaks. Mine was clearly over cooked in comparison so I sent it back. The manager then proceeds to bring me back the same steak and argue with me that it was in fact medium rare based on the temperature inside when it was obviously medium to medium well based on the color. After 5 minutes of this she finally agreed to bring me a new steak. I’ve never experienced having to prove myself to a manger. If I’m paying $50 for a steak I expect it to be cooked correctly.
Great restaurant. Great service. Food very good. Would return again
My husband and I eat out a lot and he loves a good steakhouse. Despite our charming server, the food was over priced and mediocre at best.
My husband and I had a great time! This was our first time dining there. The drinks were good, food was good and service was good!
Joey the host was great! He last minute accommodated our seating request due to a guests limitations.
Our waitress was excellent! Her suggestions were spot on. The food was delicious! We had the filet, tuna poke, ceviche & Alaska King crab.
Highly recommend this restaurant!!
Annual Family and Friends Christmas
Great steaks right by the Eagle Bahn Gondola! The service was attentive and fast. The steaks were served at the perfect temperature and the flavor were great! Good job Vail Chophouse!!!!!
Food was excellent and service was great. They accommodated our large party of 16 beautifully. Highly recommend!
We stay in Vail many ski weekends and have our favorite spots but decided to try somewhere new. Bad decision to try the Chophouse, which has a wall size mural of the iconic mountains....in Aspen! The decor is dated and worn like a bad hotel conference room. Super loud with large tables in the back room and we were just a table for two. Our server was nice enough, but seemed rather stressed. The drinks were ample, we had the speciality Manhattans, but they should be for the price. French onion soup and the burrata pear salad were delicious. We should have stopped there. The seafood tower was actually not a tower but rather a bowl of ice with seafood piled on top. This meant the food was extremely cold. The side butter was basically served cold with the cocktail sauce. There are stone crabs in the bowl, but no mustard sauce. Once the rest of the tables left our back room, service decreased. I walked away from a $300 meal feeling robbed. We learned our lesson and will be sticking to our regular places the rest of this season.
We had dinner reservations for 5:15 and we were pleasantly surprised by the entertainment provided until 6:00. The service was awesome and the steaks were delicious! I highly recommend Vail Chophouse.
The Chophouse had just opened for the winter season. So, we thought the crabcakes would be fresh. They were not tasty and did not smell fresh. The Koby $25 burger was very tasty and cooked just like my son loves. The music and crowd were all enjoyable, making for a good evening overall.
Great Vail ski atmosphere. Chophouse is located a few steps from gondola. Warm and welcoming staff. Thank you Anthony and Tony! The red meat eaters in the party enjoyed the filet and the prime New York. Both cooked to a perfect medium rare. New York was the favorite. The salmon with summer sweet corn succotash was delicious. Salmon was medium rare to medium. Brussels sprouts and roasted mushrooms were group favorites. Not big dessert eaters in this group however they all fell for Mike’s key lime pie!
Was an excellent experience! The staff was awesome and helped with the temperature changes since we sat outside.
We had been here before and were looking forward to it again, but it was disappointing. It was very noisy, service was slow and gratuity is automatically added for a party of 6 which takes away the server's incentive. Food was ok, but nothing special and for the price I expected more. I will say the warm brie appetizer and sweet corn sucotash were the highlights...both very good.
Food was very good and server was very pleasant but should be updated on clearing table etiquette. Servers should not clear plates until everyone at the table is finished with their meal.
Family visiting and they wanted a steak. We chose the Chophouse since it was close to the place we were staying and Chophouse normally have good ratings.
Got seated fairly quickly and water was served. Waiter came by to ask about drinks. One person ordered a cocktail while two of us ordered soda. The cocktail was served way before of sodas. I thought that was odd. We ordered our entrees and did not order any appetizers All four of us ordered steaks medium. He said he would bring bread back. He must have forgotten because we didn’t get in for about 20 minutes or more. There was hardly anyone there. I saw 4-5 waitstaff so I’m not sure why it seemed to take everything so long to get.
Always LOVE Kathy Morrow, Brent Gordon, Brian Loftus and friends.
Great service & Great food & a FANTASTIC piano & guitar playing entertainer. Great base of mountain setting!! My steak was fantastic
Food was quite OK while the waitress was a little inattentive/oblivious resulting in a corresponding, lower tip of course.
We really enjoyed our visit to Vail Chophouse! We had a large group of 13, and everyone loved their food. They had live music in the bar, which we weren't expecting. Even though we were sitting in the back dining room, it was still very loud. My main complaint is the added gratuity. Groups of 6 or more have a 20% gratuity added. No problem, that's a standard tip! My complaint is with the receipt- the server circled it on our receipt, and it said "suggested gratuity." So will filled out the receipt with the suggested gratuity added, and then on further inspection saw that they already added the suggested gratuity. It felt a little shady, like they were trying to get us to double tip.
Had 2 orders of the ceviche which was pre-made and rather tasteless. Server wasn’t the best. 2 orders of the peach arugula salad was very hoid
They need to decide are they a quality “Chop House” or a dive sports bar. What’s the point of TVs mounted all over the dining room tuned to random sports channels with no sound? Visually distracting and lowers the ambiance as low as possible.
