Great Vail ski atmosphere. Chophouse is located a few steps from gondola. Warm and welcoming staff. Thank you Anthony and Tony! The red meat eaters in the party enjoyed the filet and the prime New York. Both cooked to a perfect medium rare. New York was the favorite. The salmon with summer sweet corn succotash was delicious. Salmon was medium rare to medium. Brussels sprouts and roasted mushrooms were group favorites. Not big dessert eaters in this group however they all fell for Mike’s key lime pie!
Was an excellent experience! The staff was awesome and helped with the temperature changes since we sat outside.
We had been here before and were looking forward to it again, but it was disappointing. It was very noisy, service was slow and gratuity is automatically added for a party of 6 which takes away the server's incentive. Food was ok, but nothing special and for the price I expected more. I will say the warm brie appetizer and sweet corn sucotash were the highlights...both very good.
Food was very good and server was very pleasant but should be updated on clearing table etiquette. Servers should not clear plates until everyone at the table is finished with their meal.
Family visiting and they wanted a steak. We chose the Chophouse since it was close to the place we were staying and Chophouse normally have good ratings.
Got seated fairly quickly and water was served. Waiter came by to ask about drinks. One person ordered a cocktail while two of us ordered soda. The cocktail was served way before of sodas. I thought that was odd. We ordered our entrees and did not order any appetizers All four of us ordered steaks medium. He said he would bring bread back. He must have forgotten because we didn’t get in for about 20 minutes or more. There was hardly anyone there. I saw 4-5 waitstaff so I’m not sure why it seemed to take everything so long to get.
Always LOVE Kathy Morrow, Brent Gordon, Brian Loftus and friends.
Great service & Great food & a FANTASTIC piano & guitar playing entertainer. Great base of mountain setting!! My steak was fantastic
Food was quite OK while the waitress was a little inattentive/oblivious resulting in a corresponding, lower tip of course.
We really enjoyed our visit to Vail Chophouse! We had a large group of 13, and everyone loved their food. They had live music in the bar, which we weren't expecting. Even though we were sitting in the back dining room, it was still very loud. My main complaint is the added gratuity. Groups of 6 or more have a 20% gratuity added. No problem, that's a standard tip! My complaint is with the receipt- the server circled it on our receipt, and it said "suggested gratuity." So will filled out the receipt with the suggested gratuity added, and then on further inspection saw that they already added the suggested gratuity. It felt a little shady, like they were trying to get us to double tip.
Had 2 orders of the ceviche which was pre-made and rather tasteless. Server wasn’t the best. 2 orders of the peach arugula salad was very hoid
They need to decide are they a quality “Chop House” or a dive sports bar. What’s the point of TVs mounted all over the dining room tuned to random sports channels with no sound? Visually distracting and lowers the ambiance as low as possible.
Food and service was awful!!!!!
For a steakhouse. A very mediocre snd overpriced steak. And over cooked. Service was slow.
Loved listening to Phil and sitting on the patio! A must have Vail experience ❤️
The service was bad and the food mediocre
excellent service- staff were great
too bad was a large party as was a bit too noisy to spend a nice relaxing dinner
Steaks were great, atmosphere was fun! Service was fantastic. Phil playing on the piano never disappoints. Highly recommend!
Loved the location, loved the live entertainment on the patio. Nice touch with offering blankets when the weather cooled off.
The food was fine, but two members of our party were gluten and dairy free. There was not an option for desert for them and no compensation for them. They paid the same amount as the rest of the party who got the full benefit of the restaurant week deal. Not the best place to visit if you have food allergies.
Enjoyed the 2019 dinner specials, the entire serving team was great.
The music was ridiculously loud. The food was ok - nothing great. The location is very convenient. The hostess was lovely and server was nice too. In my opinion, there are many better restaurants to eat in Vail. I might try it again as I wonder if it was an off night, but it wouldn’t be a place I would rush back to.
Our server Wills was excellent...very knowledgeable, friendly and provided great service!
El servicio muy bueno y la comida ya la conocía y por eso regreso muy buena
Perhaps it was a rough night at the restaurant but it was a universally bad experience. The seating is all basically in the bar, which we didn’t realize before going, so with kids it is way too loud. It was filled with large raucous crowds when we were there so it was also just physically overwhelming to walk through to get to our seats. This was after we waited a half hour after our reservation to be seated. We then ordered almost immediately and it took almost an hour for our entrees to arrive. Steak was very over cooked, we each taking two bites and decided it wasn’t worth it. The server was very friendly but also clearly overwhelmed. We only came here because our favorite steakhouse in Vail was booked and won’t be coming back.
The menu is priced like a gourmet restaurant but the environment is closer to a sports bar.
There are better options for casual dining in Vail.
Dinner was wonderful. Great Food & Staff.
A very good overall dining experience. We were a party of 4, the food and the service was very good.
Our server was wonderful with our kids!
Did not offer us dessert /coffee.
Easy for folks staying in Lionshead to get to for dinner. The Lamb and strip steaks were perfectly cooked and flavorful. Wine selection was broad but seemed steep.
We loved it. Such a nice vibe. Excellent live music from Reid.
Steak was not cooked properly; wait staff was inattentive (we had a spill and had to clean it up and get new silverware on our own); poor wine recommendations; all around disappointing experience for a Vail steakhouse.
For a place called a chophouse, they had a very limited menu of steaks and chops. When we asked about one, the server said “I wouldn’t order that, I get a lot of complaints about it.” The food was mediocre at best, portions small and the price was high. Less of a chophouse and more of an expensive sports bar. We were all disappointed.
Service was wonderful! A large party was sat behind us shortly after we received out drinks. The server gave us the option of ordering before she tended to that table for their drink order. Food was great, as always.
The waiteress was the BEST! Loved her sense of humor and she was very efficient!
Everything was great except our waiter. We had a group of 11 and celebrating a birthday and he was rude and made snarky comments when asked questions.
There was a private party so we were in a small space in the back which took away from ambience and view. Also, don't usually send food back but had to with steak as ordered medium and was very overcooked and dry.
we are going again
Food was excellent, seafood real fresh, service was professional and courteous.
Very good ski town steakhouse.
