Mother's Day Brunch
I was disappointed when we realized Vaccaro's was only serving a buffet for Mother's Day. I am not a fan of buffets and usually find the quality and selection disappointing. All 7 adults/teens in our party were pleasantly surprised. There was a nice variety of selections, including Italian favorites, brunch basics and some creative additions, and the quality was top-notch. Unfortunately, the service (just bringing drinks!) was slow and forgetful and our table was placed in a terrible spot where we were constantly surrounded by people in line for the buffet. It was awkward and annoying and they simply should not have placed a table there, even if it meant one less space for seating on a busy day. The price was also relatively high for a buffet. Overall, the food was worth it, and we will definitely come back again when the regular menu is available.
Mother’s Day buffet was excellent. I did feel a little sorry for the patrons dining in the room with the buffet as they were constantly being crowded by those in line...perhaps a better service line?? No complaints on the food though!!
Went with a big party. Half of the dishes were overseasoned. Some meals came out luke warm. The only thing that saved the night was our very attentive waiter and strong cocktails.
Nice experience. Great service by Dean & food!
This was our first time. Appetizer was good; however, entrees were disappointing. Had chicken parmigiano and lasagna. Will try again, but not for awhile.
A very classy, first rate dining experience. Everyone on staff was very friendly and courteous and our server Sarah was pleasant and attentive. Very nice dining room and NO TVs! The food was excellent and served at comfortable intervals. We had time to enjoy our salads and appetizers, not like a some places where you no sooner get your salad and here comes the entree! We didn't feel like just had a meal but rather a dining experience.
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Vaccaro's!!!
Breads dry. Slow service. Grilled vegetables ok but very limited selection. Seasoning very little and sparse.
Had not been there in a while. Great to get back. Dinner was enjoyed by all four.
The place is amazing, the food the service, simply the best.
Outstanding homemade meals. Our waiter ZAK.....EXCELLENT. Try the french fried eggplant, really special, as is everything we ate. We plan to return soon.
Normally we have a great experience. The food continues to be very good, and we will go back. This night the service/ server was poor. it took almost an hour to get drinks, , in fact we had to go to the bar ourselves and get our drinks. He was extremely slow and inattentive, after countless asking where our drinks were, could we have bread, water etc.. In fact we hailed another server for some items and he was back with whatever we asked for quality.
Heard of Vaccaro’s from a friend who had eaten here and said it was quite good. Three of us went to dinner and the food was very good. Our server however, was not up to par with the restaurant’s reputation.
The first gaff was when he cleared a butter dish from an adjacent table, turned to our table and set the butter dish in my wife’s empty soup dish before taking both from our table. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that done in a ‘nice’ restaurant.
Ironically, we were not offered bread for our table even though every other table in the room had a bread basket.
Our waiter also had a tendency to stop and talk at other tables while patrons were waiting for him.
This is the first time in two years of living in NE Ohio that I haven’t left a 20% tip.
The ambience was great. Food, Service and atmosphere was outstanding,
The service was excellent, food was just okay but overpriced for what you get! I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. Pasta dish was a la carte: $12.00 for pasta, $3.00 for sauce and $8.00 for two pieces of shrimp. You would think for $23.00 pasta dish they could give you a few more pieces of shrimp.
My wife and I had a fantastic first experience dining at Vacarro's. The portions were generous and we were most impressed with our server, Phil. He recommended an excellent Chianti to complement our meals. Would gladly return!
We have been eating at Vaccaro's for few years now and can honestly say we have always been happy with our meals; whether casual for a pizza or upscale with the scallops or fish of the day. The bruschetta and polpetti appetizers are our regular go to starter courses. We just recently discovered that they make their own Italian version of Baileys and it is delicious all by itself!
We've been to the Trattoria before, but forgot how great it was. The wine selection is top shelf. The pasta is the best in town, and I had the cod special, which blew me away. It was a flaky and tasty as Chilean Sea Bass!
Vaccaro's is our favorite restaurant in the area. Raphael always helps us pick out our wine. He has a great selection of Italian wines. He knows what we like! When we are in town, this is our first choice when we eat out. The seafood is good as are his Italian selections.
We had friends get together of 6. we have been there before , this night was very good as well. the server Zak, was new , but very accommodating. All the food, Apps, salads and dinners were very good. I asked maybe the General Mgr, about a few Italian wines and she recommended one of the several Super Tuscans, which was very good and very reasonably priced.
One suggestion - get Ginger Ale.
We will definitely go back.
Another delicious dinner at Vaccaro’s! Homemade pasta, delicious sea bass, fantastic appetizers and salads, all topped off with two tremendous and beautiful homemade desserts! Our go to locally owned Italian restaurant.
Thank you for accommodating our change of number of guests!
Excellent food and service. Wine prices reasonable. The place is packed for a reason!
We were seated in the back room when I requested the front. It took 10 min to get water and another 15 for drinks.... it wasn’t that busy at 6:00. We ordered our entrees and after 1 1/2 hours when the food still did NOT arrive, we requested our bill. 15 minutes later the manager came with our orders to go, apologizing for lack of service, and told us the bill was on them. My order was a salad and the others were the fish special and that did not carry out well at all. Needless to say, there are other restaurants for us to dine.
Our group didn’t have a good experience here. My friend told me of a similar experience but I wanted to give it a try. After ordering I was notified that they ran out of one of their most popular dishes (on a Saturday night) and had to choose another. The service could have been more prompt. There was a 30 minute lapse between apps and dinner. After seeing the nearby table who arrived after us get their meals I had to call over the server. All of our meals were average Italian meals at best. Our friends are 100% Italian so there’s some experience there. Overall we were all disappointed with our experience unfortunately.
An awesome Valentine's day dinner. The food always is amazing.
Great restaurant great service good atmosphere good food
We (all 4 of us) felt that the server was just thrown out to us, lacked experience. I somewhat blame management for not helping him , if indeed he was new. One person in our party never did receive his soup. My salad came with no dressing, and one of us ordered a gin and tonic in a tall glass. The GT came in a short glass and were told the bar ran out of tall glasses. But, our water was served in tall glasses. Eggplant fries were brought to our table that we didn’t order. It was one mistake after another. The waiter never followed up to see if we needed anything. Unfortunately, we were all in dismay the entire evening.
I ordered the cavatelli pomodoro. My family is from Italy and I’m very familiar w left over sauce already on the pasta. My plate was just like that. Bowl was hot, pasta room temp w the sauce soaked in. No attempt was made to disguise w extra sauce on top. Manager did make it right and took it away and replaced it w lasagna which was very good. My companion had already fin’d his meal when I got mine. The attempt to pass off inferior food initially is wrong. There are other restaurants that don’t have to be caught serving an inferior meal that I prefer to frequent.
Owner is always present, has good knowledge and collection of wine.
Owner and chef Raphael makes certain everyone that walks into his family restaurant is brought into his family. The menu has wonderfully changed for the season, yet I can always get one of my favorite homemade pastas. There is courteous and caring service, and the food is authentically Italian—not just another restaurant in the Akron area...it is the reason to not have to drive to Cleveland for great food—-we already have it here!
My husband and I went to dinner on New Year's Eve. Our server was very nice. However, the food was not great. My salmon was very dry and his beef was just okay. I think for the price of the dinner, it should have been a little better quality. It wasn't so crowded that the food should have been so so. There was a lot going on around us so it was slightly distracting when trying to have a conversation. Thank you, Rebecca Harrell
I was actually looking forward to trying Vaccaro's. I was disappointed in the flavor of the food and the cost compared to the portion. The service was not good. I had asked for additional hot water for tea and never received it, but the person next to me did. They brought our bill and several people in our party wanted dessert, but the server hadn't asked about dessert, so that took another 1/2 hour. We arrived at 11:45 and were not able to leave until 1:30 due to poor service.
Service was ridiculously slow. Food came out wrong. Too loud., won’t be back... too many better choices
Great selection of wine and entrees
Food is fantastic Service second to none
Food and service were great. Wine was great and good value overall. My scallop dish was spectacular but everyone else's was great too.
Food very good, nice people working, just need to update room, looks very old out of date, patio chair not very cozy.
Was a perfect location for a business meal. Food was outstanding. Must try the lasagna.
This restaurant is always very accommodating and consistently very good . Staff is the tentative but not overbearing . We all enjoyed our meals .
We frequent Vaccaro’s routinely, and have never been disappointed. This last time we celebrated a birthday (of course they sang). We started with calamari and a bottle of Pinot Noir; they have a notable wine selection. Then the three of us enjoyed the Chilean sea bass, eggplant involving and the build-your-own pasta. Everything was delicious. Our server, Amy, was spectacular as usual - knowledgeable, engaging and attentive. Raphael Vaccaro stopped by to say hello. We will certainly continue patronizing Vaccaro’s.
