Uva Ratings and Reviews
I had a pleasant dinner with my mom. We really enjoyed our food and our server was wonderful. My mom was deciding between two pasta dishes and the waitress suggested getting a half portion of each so she did not have to choose just one. We really appreciated that suggestion and my mom said the pastas were some of the best she’s had! We will definitely be returning!!
Very authentic Italian vintage chic. Staff was friendly and the food and wine selection excellent. We were seated right away (cold night) and tables and atmosphere were complementary. Food was great. Creamy polenta and great veal meatballs. The pesto cavatelli was phe-nom-i-nal! The place is loud. For some reason people were shouting at each other across the table. I'm sure it had something to do with their level alcohol consumption.
Recommend to you, your friends and out of towners too! OK maybe not too may tourists ;)
Third time at Uva. Wonderful food, lovely restaurant. Their red sauce is fantastic, flavorful and the pasta is cooked just right, not over done or over salted - just perfection. The desserts are a standout, they're fairly simple but executed perfectly. A great way to top off a lovely dinner.
We had an early reservation. Four of us. Best table, right in front of the fireplace. Our waitress was excellent. Went through all the best as it was out first time. We started with flat bread. More like a cracker with truffle and cheese. Excellent. Arugula with shaved artichoke. Excellent. Our meals, gnocchi, chicken, bolognese and seafood something was all excellent. Lastly, dessert. Almond and tiramisu were both outstanding.
This place is a real find. The food is really interesting; some of it classic Italian and the rest imaginatively prepared and Italian-inspired. The wine list is first rate. We ate downstairs, which was small and cozy, and the service was great. This is not a place for a quiet date, but it's a lot of fun. We'll be back.
The service was excellent, and we were seated at a quiet table by Giacomo who is very nice and friendly, and let these two weary older people sit down a bit early. The food is superb, from my fettucini with shrimp and zucchini to my husband's very tender stuffed chicken breast to a lovely almond tart for dessert. The wine list is extensive from very reasonable to appropriately high- priced with everything in between. The front room is more bustling and noisy with a bar and the backroom ( where we were) quieter. We go there almost every time we're in NYC. Highly recommend.
We were in “the garden”, the weather permitted and it was nice. We had a reservation and we waited 20 min before to get a table, the person was stressed and we need to ask for update, she got help and advices. The waitress was very nice and helpful to choose the vine. We enjoyed our dishes and dessert. The service was great.
We had our wedding reception dinner here in May of ‘17 and then returned to NYC for the Macy’s parade. Once again Uva was spectacular. We appreciate the hard working teams of players that make the magic happen. The food & service will keep us coming back as often as possible. Even now in November our wedding guests still rave about their experience we all shared with Uva.
Amazing!!!!!! My boyfriend and I did pre-Thanksgiving date night here and fell in love... We're going to do a monthly date night at Uva from now on; it was that good. I had the pasta special, which was green long pasta (like linguine) in a pink sauce with salmon and grapefruit. Steven had the paparadelle with veal. We started with burrata (so delish) and the fungi bruschetta (holy moly!!) and we were stuffed... Great spot for a date, dinner with a friend, etc. Service was remarkable, as well :)
Fantastic food! The polenta appetizer is amazing! Service was very attentive. Everything we had was fantastic! The meatballs were fantastic and the tiramisu was simply delicious! I was craving delicious authentic Italian food and they did not disappoint! I highly recommend this place.
