Uva Ratings and Reviews
Always a pleasure to dine at Uva! Although very crowded on a Wednesday evening (Valentine's Day) Paula seated us in a quiet area with one of our favorite waiters ("Mark"). A vocalist provided some very nice music/singing and the ambiance was perfect. Everyone is friendly and attentive to customers - a team approach. The owner ("Sal") visits every table and shares his delicious desserts. All in all a wonderful evening for our special occasion. We return to Uva as often as possible!
I think UVA is slowly losing its appeal. We came there for a Valentines Day. They had a pre made menu that didn’t impress. Our starter consisted of defrosted shrimp and some canned chunks of crabmeat, and a small side of a cocktail sauce that was obviously out of a can. Main course I ordered fish and my wife ordered ravioli. I think our server was almost upset that knowing that UVA was a BYOB place we failed to bring anything alcoholic with us.
Sat immediately on a Saturday at 530. Bread provided quickly with olive oil. Josephine our server quickly reviewed specials inclujding Halibut which my wife got with lobster mashed potatoes and vegetables. very good. I chose veal saltimbocca which was great. we also got octopus tartare which was fantastic. Sal the owner came by at end with homemade limoncello and some chocolate liqueur which were both out of this world. out of there in under 40 minutes. only issue is you do feel squished as there are many tables. not romantic.
Very noisy, tables too close together, felt like we were being rushed. I told them it was my birthday and they sang to other people in the restaurant and didn't sign or acknowledge it was my birthday at all. I felt very sad after I left there. Our reservation was for 7:00 PM and I was home by 9:00 P.M. (I live in Bensalem, PA).
The food is excellent here. But the noise level on Friday and Saturday nights is way too loud. There was a very large and rude family dining next to us and they must have thought they had a private room. They were loud and were constantly getting up and moving around the table. We could barely hear ourselves talk to each other. If we go back it will only be on a Sunday through Thursday.
Food was excellent and our waiter was great! We have been there numerous times and never had someone singing but this night we did. The young lady singing was very good and somewhat entertaining BUT this was not happy hour and it was way too loud! Definitely needs to tone it down as we struggled having a conversation! I would still recommend to friends and family!
A little bit of urban in the suburbs. Uva not only looks chic, their food is a par above most restaurants in the area. It might be because the owner is hands-on and the communication about special events is frequent. But above all, the selections are plentiful and whatever I've eaten there has been delicious. I had a baramundi?? entree. Never having that fish before, I thought I'd give it a try and the flavors were terrific. My husband had a veal chop that he said was tender and delicious. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food. It's our new favorite place!
Birthday dinner success!! This lovely BYOB restaurant was a pleasant surprise. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted like anticipated guests at a family party. The service was fantastic and everyone from the hostess to the manager checked on us throughout the meal. Fabrizio, our server, was wonderful- attentive and friendly. He made us feel like we were his only concern even though there were bigger parties. The salads were good sized and the calamari was so yummy. Everyone loved their entrees- the lamb, stuffed flounder, chicken saltimbocca and the lobster ravioli were all delicious. Our 9 yr old had the pasta primavera - a very good sized portion. The Tiramisu, brownie dessert were scrumptious!! To make the evening complete, a wonderful crooner, sang to our daughter Happy Birthday! Would return again :)
This is the second time in a row that the singer’s volume was so loud that we couldn’t talk to each other. It wasn’t the conversation in the room; the speakers had to be turned down. It was very cold with air conditioning blowing on me, so I had to eat with my coat on. I brought it up but nothing was done. The food was disappointing to three of the four of us. I usually like Uva, but I doubt we’ll go back.
Uva is well decorated and the food is fabulous. The waitstaff are attentive and friendly. Why didn't I know this was here earlier? It's a great restaurant in Richboro, and worth the effort. It's tucked into a strip mall near the center of town across from the grocery store, so it's easy to miss. I can't wait to go back.
