Uva Ratings and Reviews
A little bit of urban in the suburbs. Uva not only looks chic, their food is a par above most restaurants in the area. It might be because the owner is hands-on and the communication about special events is frequent. But above all, the selections are plentiful and whatever I've eaten there has been delicious. I had a baramundi?? entree. Never having that fish before, I thought I'd give it a try and the flavors were terrific. My husband had a veal chop that he said was tender and delicious. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food. It's our new favorite place!
Birthday dinner success!! This lovely BYOB restaurant was a pleasant surprise. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted like anticipated guests at a family party. The service was fantastic and everyone from the hostess to the manager checked on us throughout the meal. Fabrizio, our server, was wonderful- attentive and friendly. He made us feel like we were his only concern even though there were bigger parties. The salads were good sized and the calamari was so yummy. Everyone loved their entrees- the lamb, stuffed flounder, chicken saltimbocca and the lobster ravioli were all delicious. Our 9 yr old had the pasta primavera - a very good sized portion. The Tiramisu, brownie dessert were scrumptious!! To make the evening complete, a wonderful crooner, sang to our daughter Happy Birthday! Would return again :)
This is the second time in a row that the singer’s volume was so loud that we couldn’t talk to each other. It wasn’t the conversation in the room; the speakers had to be turned down. It was very cold with air conditioning blowing on me, so I had to eat with my coat on. I brought it up but nothing was done. The food was disappointing to three of the four of us. I usually like Uva, but I doubt we’ll go back.
Uva is well decorated and the food is fabulous. The waitstaff are attentive and friendly. Why didn't I know this was here earlier? It's a great restaurant in Richboro, and worth the effort. It's tucked into a strip mall near the center of town across from the grocery store, so it's easy to miss. I can't wait to go back.
When we arrived the restaurant was packed with people, but as soon as we asked Paula if Fabrizio was working, he stopped what he was doing to greet us and make us feel welcomed! Before we even ordered he came out with a dish of olives and cheese that was delicious and just what we needed to tide us over. Where can you done and be treated like the best family in the world? St Uva, that’s where!
The only thing I would say that was a little off was our table was really bad. We sat in front of the kitchen so it was very busy around us. The funny thing was I had put in a request when making the reservation for a quiet table for our anniversary dinner and we knew the hostess through a common friend so we expected a much better table. I should have asked to move. The table snafu definitely took away from the dining experience.
The bad table was the only minus from otherwise what was excellent service and food.
Outstanding food and service! Excellent menu selection. This is a byob. Sal- the owner greeting the tables and very in tune to his customers. A very nice welcome! The ambience is ok- I’m more of a fireplace , brick and woods - cozy style customer. The restaurant was well-appointed and attractive but it has bling - just too much for my taste. Yes I will visit again just for the food!
Everyday dining with exquisite food and personal service. The Frutti Di Mare or seafood salad was fresh and delicious, like homemade, but better. Even the linguine agli e olio ( garlic and oil) tasted homemade. The main course, bronzino, was outstanding, fresh and perfectly seasoned with crispy skin and succulent juices. Mine was a whole fish, Fabrizio deboned my husband's fish.
We have been to Uva many times. The past two times, the music (live singer and piped in music when she was on a break) was ridiculously loud for a restaurant. You had to practically scream to be heard across the table. I am not sure if we can go back. Dinner with friends is supposed to be about good food and conversation. Food is great, but hard to converse.
Very accommodating. Great service. One room with music/singer (which was nice) and a large party so it was noisy. Appys were very good - shrimp & beets with goat cheese, and stuffed calimari with crab (special). Halibut was tasty but a bit over cooked. Our waiter was excellent and attentive.
while the food was very good the noise level was overwhelming making conversation very difficult
Aside from being a very busy Saturday night with noise levels to match the restaurant featured a singer during dinner whose volume was uncomfortably loud .we asked several times for the volume to be lowered to no avail .we will not be back when the singer is there
Good food & service, but the noise level is deafening!! I have been to Uva several times before with the same compliant. Will not be returning!!! Singer was good, but much to loud for a dining atmosphere! And seriously how many times in 2.5 hous is it necessary to sing Happy Birthday!
First time dining at Uva. Pretty restaurant; good food and service overall but had a few issues with waiter and a couple of the entrees. It was a Saturday night, it was packed and we were a party of 6, so some issues are to be expected. Waiter insisted on including the pasta with the frutti di mare, even though our nephew said he wanted them to hold the pasta. It came with scallops in it that weren't included on the menu description, and the amount of seafood was sparse (especially for the price). When it was pointed out to the waiter as a disappointment, the waiter said, "but the pasta was good, eh?" No olive oil or butter served with the bread; a strange orange sauce (not tomato) on a plate instead. The other entrees were quite good. I had scampi over linguine and our niece's fish/special entree was good. Of the three appetizers, eggplant rollatini was especially tasty, although we'd never been told we couldn't place our appetizer order until our entire order was ready to go in (which took a while for six people, including two kids). We prefer not to go out on Saturday nights because of the crowds, noise, and service, so might give this another shot during the week. Although it's BYO, it's on the pricey side.
We always enjoy Uva...from the always pleasant welcome from the hostess (who's name we should know by now and will ask next visit), to the friendly service (we know Fabrisio and Walter... they are wonderful) to the consistently delicious food. We've celebrated Birthdays, Anniversaries, and just a night our and have never been disappointed. We'll be introducing friends to Uva for lunch on 11/14 and look forward to the experience!
