Our group of four had not experienced this restaurant before, in spite of it being local to the area of two of our party. Definitely authentic Italian, in the most traditional manner! The food was outstanding and the wait staff professional! Don't forget to BYOB! Two of our party live more than 50 miles away, but will definitely return to it when we are in the area again!
Singer made talking at table impossible
Got dinner wrong and took 15 mins to correct
Food and service are excellent. Very friendly atmosphere.
Uva is a gem...it doesn't look like much, with it's location in a mini strip mall, but the food and service are usuallly impeccable. Out of all of our visits, I've only had one bad waiter, and that was years ago. Even though it's a bit of a drive for us, we try and go a few times a year. Their dishes are fantastic, and we've never had a bad meal.
Been here @ 8 times...Saturday nite will be my last...I had to get up 3 times so other customers could leave or use bathroom while I was eating.my service gets worst everytime..rush you at at the end, don't offer coffe had to ask twice..portions get smaller everytime.pull ed waiter aside for crem burlee with candle for my wife's birthday...then he forgets and ask table what they want for dessert .and they use generic soda..42 dollars for lamb and cant get a real coke or pepsi.. Pathetic..190.00 plus tip for 4 people...
Good food, service was wonderful. Thank you Fabrizio. A little higher priced byob
Food was good. However, we were dining with friends and felt extremely rushed. We had a 6pm reservation and did not linger. My girlfriend and I went to the ladies room after we finished dinner. When we returned our husbands were waiting for us at the front door. They were told they needed to leave because there was a party for ten waiting to be seated. With that the servers and the manager started taking the table cloth off the table and moving our things (mine and my friends purse and coat). Both myself, my husband and our friends were very unhappy with how we were treated at the end of meal. My husband said he will not return because of this.
Great service. Great fixed price menu during week.
I brought my new girlfriend out for a romantic dinner and was not disappointed. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice. We didn’t feel out of place overdressed as we wore a suit and dress and I would have felt just as comfortable in jeans and a shirt. It was the perfect balance of fancy and casual. The prices were good and I felt there was enough space even though almost every table was filled.
The restaurant attempts to seat more people than should be occupying their space. We were seated at a table against the wall and they continued to seat more tables around us until we were literally trapped in our space. Our server made it to our table once after taking our order to bring us our food and even then they had to ask the others around us to move from their seats to allow them to pass. As a result, we were ignored throughout the evening. When we asked for management, even they couldn’t find an easy way to reach us.
The food was fine and our wait staff was very nice, although we didn’t see much of them. The entire restaurant was very loud and even had a mic’d Baby Grand piano and singer in the restaurant, adding to the noise level.
I’m sure if we had tried them during the week our experience would have been better, but this is not a location that would be convenient for us to patronize during the week. As such, we will not be returning. Sadly it was not how I had hoped to spend our anniversary dinner.
The only concern is that they do not have a liquor license. It is BYO but I didn't know that. If it's on their web site, I missed it. I would not go back for that reason.
Good food but with exception service willing to recommend or modify meal to just want you want. BYO makes it perfect for having things your way! as it should be but is not often.
Excellent food, service and ambiance! I have been there many times and it is always awesome. Plus, it is a BYOB.
This place never disappoints! It is a BYOB and they are skilled at opening and serving whatever you bring. Their specials are always unique- the only criticism is they do NOT tell you the price.
Our 2nd visit to UVA in just over a month. Food is awesome! BYOB!!!! A little noisy, but it’s not unbearable....great night!
Amazing food. Expensive but worth it
Nice place but the tables are packed in like sardines. Not the place for quiet coinversation.
Excellent meal! We would definitely be back again. Waiter was amazing and very tentative to us
We had a great experience at UVA. The staff was super friendly and the food was excellent. We will definitely be back!
Always a pleasure to dine at Uva! Although very crowded on a Wednesday evening (Valentine's Day) Paula seated us in a quiet area with one of our favorite waiters ("Mark"). A vocalist provided some very nice music/singing and the ambiance was perfect. Everyone is friendly and attentive to customers - a team approach. The owner ("Sal") visits every table and shares his delicious desserts. All in all a wonderful evening for our special occasion. We return to Uva as often as possible!
First time there and it was outstanding. No wait for our table, our waiter was great, food came out quickly and it was terrific. They had an excellent singer which was unexpected. Overall, a great Valentine’s Day date.
Wonderful singer on Valentine’s Day
I think UVA is slowly losing its appeal. We came there for a Valentines Day. They had a pre made menu that didn’t impress. Our starter consisted of defrosted shrimp and some canned chunks of crabmeat, and a small side of a cocktail sauce that was obviously out of a can. Main course I ordered fish and my wife ordered ravioli. I think our server was almost upset that knowing that UVA was a BYOB place we failed to bring anything alcoholic with us.
Valentine’s Dinner, food what wonderful, service was exceptional. A bit pricey, but for a special occasion it was worth it!
I normally don't do surveys, but in this case I have to say we were both very happy with everything at this restaurant.
We will go again and highly recommend.
Sat immediately on a Saturday at 530. Bread provided quickly with olive oil. Josephine our server quickly reviewed specials inclujding Halibut which my wife got with lobster mashed potatoes and vegetables. very good. I chose veal saltimbocca which was great. we also got octopus tartare which was fantastic. Sal the owner came by at end with homemade limoncello and some chocolate liqueur which were both out of this world. out of there in under 40 minutes. only issue is you do feel squished as there are many tables. not romantic.
We absolutely love Fabrizio our server. Truly one of a kind and we cannot day enough good things about him. He made our experiences one of our best ever. We look forward to seeing him again and dining at Uva.
Very noisy, tables too close together, felt like we were being rushed. I told them it was my birthday and they sang to other people in the restaurant and didn't sign or acknowledge it was my birthday at all. I felt very sad after I left there. Our reservation was for 7:00 PM and I was home by 9:00 P.M. (I live in Bensalem, PA).
It was a fantastic evening. It was my mother in law’s 95 birthday. The meal and service were excellent. The waiter was really sweet with the special occasion. Great job!!!
Food always great, tables are a little close if sitting in middle section and a little noisy. Next time would request a table on the outer side next to wall so as not to feel so cramped and crowded.
Was surprised to see how busy they were & as a result service was a little slow despite several waiters .
Music was oldies style but good
The food is excellent here. But the noise level on Friday and Saturday nights is way too loud. There was a very large and rude family dining next to us and they must have thought they had a private room. They were loud and were constantly getting up and moving around the table. We could barely hear ourselves talk to each other. If we go back it will only be on a Sunday through Thursday.
Incredible food! Friendly staff, all around one of the best byob restaurants around.
Outstanding experiences with both service and meal. Live Sinatra piano player only enhanced the evening.
It was our first time at UVA and we loved our meals! Will definitely be adding it to one of our favorites!
Food was excellent and our waiter was great! We have been there numerous times and never had someone singing but this night we did. The young lady singing was very good and somewhat entertaining BUT this was not happy hour and it was way too loud! Definitely needs to tone it down as we struggled having a conversation! I would still recommend to friends and family!
A neighborhood gem that is perfect for any occasion.
As always the food was impeccably well prepared and the perfect portions.
Had one special and the veal saltimbucco and both were perfect
Creme brûlée and the coffee were great too!
