Food was good. Appetizers were very good. I ordered the Cordero Lamb. It came medium rare as ordered, which is usually the hurdle to get over for lamb. However, it was not as tender as I expected. This is why I say it a "good." Server was overly accommodating. Friendly place. Give them a try.
It was our first time here at Utopia. the food was excellent the chef prepared a special for the day blackened chicken mango salad it was amazing! Just perfect for dinner after a hot day. We also had the tomato Broschetta and Curry,. They accommodated us by splitting our orders in half , which was perfect because they offer half portions. Our sever Glenn was on pint with his service and recommendations. Definitely we will back!!
We had heard of Utopia before, and we were very pleased. The atmosphere (sidewalk dining) was lovely, and our entrees were delicious. Amir, the owner, came and made sure we were happy with our dining experience, thanked us for coming. We definitely would recommend this restaurant.
Outstanding food, ideal site for outside dining, waiter was a bit busy, but overall a great time
Took a group from work for dinner. At first it was nearly deserted but picked up around 730. The food was ok, wine list was reasonably priced. The waitstaff were terrific. Overall, it was good for a business casual meeting, not too loud and decent food.
Great eclectic and artsy place, you can feel the vibe of intellectually hip.
The wine menu was impressive and the food was seasoned to perfection. I enjoyed the intimate setting with the option to dine outside. The restaurant is situated in the heart of downtown long beach, so you can sit outside and people watch while you sip your wine and enjoy a nice Italian dish. The bruschetta was AMAZING and the mushroom appetizer was delicious as well. Again, the wine menu didn't disappoint. I do think they were quite expensive considering the value, but worth a date night nonetheless.
We enjoyed dinner before opening night at International City theatre and then came back for the after party. The food was excellent (we enjoyed the special LBC Dines menu) and the service very attentive. Thank you for supporting ICT!
I don't recommend it. I thought the food was very mediocre to say the least.
This little gem is a wonderful restaurant. The food was great and the service was excellent.
Utopia has a cool vibe with an eclectic menu. The restaurant displays local art and is located in the East Village art district of Long Beach. There is a live pianist who plays at a subdued level and adds to the pleasing ambiance of the place. The wine list is also good.
This is a special occaision spot for my wife and I. The food is very good here.
Had a great lunch at Utopia this week. Great suggestions for lunch. Great service. Wonderful outdoor dining and delicious hot bread pudding for desert. They do wonderful wine tasting dinners there too. Nicely located in the Arts District of downtown Long Beach Ca
Not sure how long this restaurant has been here, but I felt there were quite a few locals in the room. Hats off to the long table of about 14 men who, while clearly having a good time, did not over-run the room with noise. The food was very good, atmosphere congenial and the staff very pleasant and well trained. The owner?/maitre'd is a little touchy. We called to say we would be 10 minutes late for our reservation and he barked into the phone, "What, I have people waiting here now!" - a little off-putting. Nevertheless, when we got there, he was very accommodating and clearly has pride in his business. Old school! My kale salad was good, bread was terrific, bruschetta and hamburger tasty, other items on the menu looked interesting, server was wonderful - she got our food in before those 14 men and we were on time for our show. If I lived in Long Beach, I'd go back - this is not a generic eating establishment!
This restaurant is nice. The food was a little bland for my taste.. The wait was way too long. It took 2 hours to eat and we had other plans.
Two colleagues and I went for lunch this week. It was a very pleasant experience. The restaurant was not very busy as it was mid-week and lunchtime, but it worked out well for us because it was also quiet. I hate noisy restaurants and there is quite a list of places where the food is great but the noise is overpowering, so we don't go. I liked the fact that on the lunch menu, you can order either a small or a large salad. This freed me up to also have a bowl of soup--a tasty black bean, not very spicy but great flavor. I had the marinated kale salad with goat cheese and dried cranberries. Others had the same or the spinach salad which looked great as well. I especially love their crusty rolls--takes me back to Italy and the small crusty rolls they serve for breakfast. My husband and I have been to Utopia for several of our wedding anniversaries and it does not disappoint.
One of our favorite spots. Delicious food, great wine list and wonderful service.
The food was delicious, the service devine and the prices just right. Thank you for a great Christmas eve dining experience.
Always look forward to our lunch or dinner at Utopia. A charming restaurant in downtown Long Beach. The owners strive to keep the restaurant clean and updated.
One of our favorite restaurants! We dine here often. In addition to wonderful food and friendly wait staff, we also love the rotating gallery of art works!
Cameron and his staff make every meal something special. The Stuffed Pork Lion was awesome as was the service and friendly staff. Utopia is a must for locals and Long Beach visitors alike.
Great place to eat and we sat outdoors...the waiter Chris was very accommodating. The scallops were to die for:)
