Many vegetables are used in the Urfa cuisine, such as the "Ecır," the "Kenger," and the "İsot", the legendary local red capsicum that is a smaller and darker.
Urfa is a big user of clarified butter, made exclusively from sheep's milk.
At Urfa bistro we will try our best to use local products to create dishes as same as prepared in Urfa.
Urfa Bistro is a hidden gem in the heart of Los Altos. Always excellent food and service. Reasonable prices, and quiet ambiance for either a dinner for couples or business meeting. There is ample parking after 6pm and you can enjoy walking around the Los Altos Village before or after. There is pet-friendly dining available in the front and back.
Went there the second time. Food was fantastic...the kebabs melt in your mouth. What a lovely atmosphere. This is by far the best Turkish restaurant in the Bay Area.
Excellent food, service and ambiance in every way!!!
I love Urfa, I go there often. The food has always been delicious. Sadly, this time the food was not very good. We had the Moussaka and Lunch fish special. The Moussaka had very tough parts, we are not sure if it was the eggplant, but my friend said it felt like bones, she left them to the side. The fish was good, but the salad lacked a bit of flavor. I'll try Urfa again, maybe it was an off day.
Food is great but restaurant is so loud that it is difficult to hold a conversation, especially with a group of people.
A great place for lunch with a friend. In this case I was treating a friend for her birthday. Nice friendly place with good food and gracious service.
Pretty great food - delicious and came out timely.
They need more servers. They took a while to get to us and it’s mostly because it was busy and only had 2 people on the floor.
Food just OK. nice location, service. great Turkish coffee. Dessert was the best part of a mediocre menu.
Food is not bad but nothing that will bring us back.
The food is always very good and is nicely presented. I have been there a number of times, but have not
varied what I eat very much. The Moussaka is excellent as well as other dishes I have had. I would highly recomment Urfa Bistro. They close shortly after lunch and then open again for dinner, I believe.
The food is perfectly prepared; not too salty; The prices average $20 for lunch without a drink and dessert; the bread is served with high quality olive oil !!; and my wife and I really enjoyed our lunch. We will return earlier to avoid the noise.
awesome food, great service, nice people
Once again, great food and great service. It never disappoints. Definitely one of our favorite places in Downtown Los Altos.
My family and friends have been dining for quite some time at Urfa and we were never disappointed with the food and service.
Excellent food and outstanding service! I've been there several times and I plan on going again based on my positive experience.
We started with the grilled octopus and Greek salad, both of which were outstanding. The pieces of octopus were very tender. I enjoyed the moussaka and my husband enjoyed the lamb sautee. Both were generous portions. We split a delicious bread pudding with chocolate sauce. This was our first visit to Urfa Bistro and we will definitely return.
The branzino was excellent but nothing else we ordered was very tasty. We much prefer the Mediterranean food at Opa just two blocks away
Urfa is a neighborhood gem. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the food is delicious. As vegetarians, we appreciate the wide variety of options for us.
My husband had the Moussaka - it had a tomato sauce, as well as the usual bechemel, but he said it was tasty.
I had the mixed skewers. The chicken was bland, but the ground beef and lamb chunks were excellent.
Nice rice pilaf accompanied both dinners, and my grilled zucchini was very tasty!
All in all, we will return, as we love Middle Eastern food!
Excellent food and wait staff who recognized us as repeat customers.
Always great dinners and super friendly wait staff.
All around excellent. Service was outstanding. All of our needs were anticipated and every request met promptly. The staff were friendly, caring and respectful. Every dish was delicious and memorable. We enjoyed the Hot Appetizer Combo, the Branzino special, the Moussaka (meat), and the Chocolate Turkish Coffee Mousse. The front room was busy and noisy because of a large party; but we were seated in a back room that was uncrowded and just right for quiet conversation. Our special occasion was acknowledged with a flute of dessert wine for each of us at the end of the meal.
Great variety and flavor!
I think Urfa Bistro has gone down in value for me. They have reduced the quality of food and raised their prices considerably. I will start looking for other places to go.
First time here. Met some friends from Los Altos. They’d visited several years before but didn’t remember much. This time we both will remember the friendly service and the great good. We will come again!
We have always enjoyed the food and service is very goo too!
My sister and I met for lunch on a rainy day. Ufra was warm and inviting. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We both had the sea bass. It was cooked perfectly and was delicious. I will definitely go again.
Our team had a wonderful meal. Urga has excellent options for vegetarians and others. We all loved our appetizers, main dishes and wine. Highly recommend everything lamb.
We went there for team lunch and my team is diverse both ethnically and dietary. Everyone loved their food and the service was great.
We loved our birthday balava!
Excellent Mediterranean cuisine. And consistently great service. Always enjoy the kebabs.
Urfa is a nice neighborhood restaurant. Turkish/Greek/Med. influences. Prices are reasonable. Ingredients fresh.
I have been to Urfa Bistro several times. They have been consistently good. Great service, tasty and well seasoned fresh food, warm bread with delicious olive oil. A beautiful menu and portion sizes that are appropriate, not too small and not too big. I would recommend this spot and hope that they expand
Tasty, genuine food. Super helpful staff. Neighborhood gem. Far better than we expected when we walked in. Great meze plate to start, beautifully presented dishes, with generous portions. We've added this to our list of go-to local places.
We think it is the best restaurant in Los Altos, CA
Consistently delicious. Friendly.
The food at Urfa Bistro is delicious and beautifully presented. The restaurant is fairly quiet so you can actually have a conversation with your dinner partner. The ambiance is quite nice as well. I really like this place!
Excellent service and the patio was on the quieter side so conversation was possible.
First time. Staff was very friendly and accommodating (we were late!). They had a nice selection of exotic and local wines. We started with a sampler and it was delicious. Found it a little weird that it didn't come with any pita, but they promptly brought some out once we asked. They let us have a leisurely dinner and didn't rush us. Food was great. Hummus was awesome. so creamy! I had enough for leftovers and even then, the food was still delish. i would definitely return.
Great food and nice service with variety of food. Easy location with parking
Very tasty Very interesting and fresh ingredients and presentation + friendly passionate owners
