I invited a few coworkers to lunch at Urband and the group grew. And grew. I went from a reservation of 4 to a table of 18.
Specific to coming with a large group, the service was slow. From arrival until our food was delivered took over an hour. Probably over 1 hour 15 minutes. That said, all of the food was delivered together, in the order that we placed our order, to the right person, and the orders were correct. That part was pretty impressive. Every single person was happy with their food.
I ordered the tomato bisque soup, the three-cheese grilled cheese, and the bread pudding. The soup was tangy, sweet, and a little spicy. I've had it before and because I knew how good it was, I had it again. The grilled cheese was a natural pairing. It was nice and crispy without being greasy. It had just the right amount of cheese. The bread pudding was crispy on the outside and decent on the inside. It was a little dry inside, and I think it should have soaked up more custard. The apple flavor was great, as were the caramel and ice cream. I'm not a fan of the thyme garnish, but after I picked that off, it was good.
I've been to Urbane before and had very attentive service, but with the large group it was a little harder. Our water carafes remained empty for too long. I haven't had that issue with a party of 1 or 2.
I'll definitely go to Urbane again. And I'll bring new people.
Had the crab cakes and steak filet. Both were outstanding with unique flavors for the crab cakes. Especially enjoyed the thin sliced turnip adding a crunch.
This is a local restaurant for me now that I have my 2nd home on the west coast in downtown Seattle.
Great food, great service and Jennell who has been my server a few times is simply fantastic!!
Selected under seafood, only three entrees, one was fish and chips. The fries were gritty and cold. Service was over an hour from arrival to service but the place was sparsely occupied. In the appetizers there was crab cakes that lacked flavor.
Overall the food was mediocre.
The service was friendly and efficient. I knew what I wanted to order and my food was delivered quickly. I drink a lot of water and never came close to running out.
For dinner, I had the tomato soup, mushroom risotto, and apple bread pudding. Everything was delicious. The tomato bisque soup was creamy, sweet, and had a touch of heat. I did need to add add a pinch of salt. Otherwise it was perfect. The mushroom risotto was served with perfectly thin and even slices of apple and pickled shallot. There was also a little fresh parmesan on top. The flavors went together wonderfully. There were at least 3 types of mushrooms included, plus rich sauteed onions. The flavors were deep. The risotto was tender without being overcooked. It was creamy and so thick that I could eat it with a fork. My only complaint is that it needed a touch of salt. (I don't usually need to salt restaurant food.) The apple bread pudding was an individual serving, about the size of a muffin. It was tender inside with a nice sear on the outside. The apple flavor was nice, without taking away from the bread pudding. The ice cream was rich and creamy, though not the best I've ever eaten. There was a slight herbaceous flavor that I didn't find appealing.
I would definitely go to Urbane again. I'd order the soup and risotto again, though I'd try a different dessert.
Easter celebration -
Easter brunch was delicious and the service was outstanding. It was our first time there and we'll be back.
I'm new to town and needed to schedule a business lunch with a colleague. Not knowing all the options available to me in y new hometown, I utilized Yelp! to quickly narrow down a few spots close to our office with healthy food options. I didn't realize this was the "hotel" restaurant and was disappointed by the variety of options and general atmosphere. Service was "fine", food was "fine", just overall a really "blah" lunch.
There was nothing we disliked about Urbane, but it was lacking a Seattle vibe to it that we were hoping to find. It was pretty sterile and unmentionable even though the food was very tasty. It took a long time for our food to come out, to the point where the server even stopped by the table and said that "it shouldn't be much longer" even though it was about 10 minutes more after that. There were four of us for brunch and we each got something different, which were all really good...no complaints on the food. Coffee was decent, and one of us got a Bloody Mary which was pretty good.
Our server was great, no complaints there at all. He was pleasant and attentive.
There are so many neat restaurants in Seattle, I'm sure we will not be back. I think this was meant to be a hotel restaurant rather than a Seattle restaurant...even the server asked if we wanted to charge it to our room.
Again, nothing awful, but just not great enough to return.
I am vegetarian; they had one dish, which thankfully I liked. They asked if we were going to the theatre and made sure they got us out in time.
Service was spotty. Food was OK but not great. Poor by the glass menu especially since of the two Chardonnays they offered they only had one in stock. Definitely for the after work business crowd.
Our server was awesome!!!! Such a great personality and so fun. I can't remember his name! But the food was such small portions. We ordered The charcuterie platter. Omg. It was ridiculous it was $16 and so small!!! My entree was the scallops. It was good but also tiny! We spent $360 and we were all hungry 2 hours later. We were so excited to eat here before Hamilton. I liked my drink. But that's it.
Our food was great, as were our drinks. My only complaint is that the price seemed steep for the amount of wine I received, and my meal was more expensive than I've paid for similar meals elsewhere.
Sloooowww sums up our experience. It took over 30 mins to get our cheese plate. Our dinners were 45 mins and only after we asked numerous times. One dinner came out 10 minutes after everyone else had been served. We didn’t order anything complicated or special order. Some of it came cold. And this was after telling our server we were going to the theater so had time constraints. Wouldn’t go back.
Had a lovely dinner after seeing Hamilton. Very convenient to the Paramount Theatre.
Went for brunch before theatre matinee. Perfect. Food was as described, beautifully presented. Sweet and sour tomato sauce presented w the side potatoes was delicious
It was a little hard to locate when coming in through the hotel, but the food was great as well as the view.
We popped in here for dinner before a show, and were pleasantly surprised. We started off with mussels and crab cakes for an appetizer, which were good but not notable. He had the duck entree and I had the mushroom risotto. He loved the duck, I thought the risotto was decent but average. Same with the desserts - creme brûlée and chocolate ice cream.
Not bad, but nothing to write home about either. OK for the price considering the downtown location.
The food was good and not overpriced. The service was excellent and waiters work as a team. We got in and out on time with full, satisfied stomachs/palates.
We booked for dinner before a show at the Paramount. Location was great, short walk after eating, ambiance was nice without being formal. Enjoyed the evening very much. Would have given food 4*s but my steak was over-cooked, not even close.
We are here before seeing Hamilton at The Paramount. It was great. Close location, swanky but not stuffy feel and great food.
Service was terrible. We had to keep going to find our server. Also, they add gratuity, but then leave a place to add tip so you could easily miss that and overpay.
We ate a quick dinner here before Hamilton at the Paramount; it was located across the street from the Paramount Parking garage, and a quick walk to the theater for the show. We were greeted quickly and warmly, and our server was very attentive. We only had one hour until the show started, and our server made sure he took our order and brought the check quickly; he also made an EXCELLENT wine suggestion which both my husband and I enjoyed! I had the salmon, and my husband had steak and frites- both were delicious. I would definitely eat here again (especially for a quick bite before a show!)
Service was fantastic. Our waitress made sure we had our meal in time to be able to see our show at the Paramount. She ALSO made sure I knew that the gratuity was already included in the bill. Finally, she checked on hotel room/cost for us, as we were worried about getting home in the snow. Besides the fantastic service, the food was amazing. We started with crab cakes, and I had the salmon. Delicious, creative menu.
I came to Urbane for brunch because the menu looked good. The food was very good but not worth the terrible service. Of course, 20% gratuity is included in your bill. The server took so long to greet us and take our drink order that we decided to order everything right away, sensing how the service would continue for the entirety of the brunch. The food took forever to come out and on top of that my boyfriend had to wait half an hour to get a refill on his coffee. We both agreed the pancakes were delicious but we wouldn’t come back nor recommend Urbane due to the service. No one greeted us or said anything as we walked out either.
We had wonderful service, they immediately checked in if we were going to the theatre and they made sure to get us food very promptly and so it was not only great service, great food but also very relaxing and we got to the theatre with plenty of time to spare!
Nice, modern decor and ambiance. Close to the Paramount Theater. Noise level was good--we were able to hear each other easily, even when the restaurant filled up. Competent food and service, although for the money, I did expect a little more. There were three in our party. We shared three appetizers and each had an entree. We all enjoyed the appetizers and my steak was perfectly cooked and tender. On the other hand, nothing really stood out or transcended. I probably won't return--there are better restaurants in the area at the same price point. However, if you're looking for something close to the Paramount, you could definitely do worse.
Great and friendly service. Limited menu. But, what was available met our needs and was most satisfying. Conveniently located for the walk to the Paramount Theater.
The presentation was perfect for both entrées (duck and scallops), and each was prepared to enhance the flavors. Our server was attentive and offered helpful insight.
We arrived early for our reservation because we were seeing "Hamilton" at the Paramount, and they seated us in the bar without any hassle. We had drinks and dinner there, without any stress about making the show. Wine options were very good, and both the mushroom risotto and the seared scallops were excellent.
Great food, quick service as we were heading to the theater.
No service whatsoever. Food came out lukewarm despite not being busy and with the kitchen nearby.
This was our first time at Urbane and it was wonderful! The menu was diverse and everything is locally sourced! We will come back again. Highly recommend!
We had brunch before Hamilton at the Paramount, the waiter was very friendly and the food was delicious but it was delayed in the kitchen causing us some stress. The manager was very apologetic and comped our whole meal. We will definitely return and try again!
We arrived on time and food didn’t arrive for 1 hr15 mins. Croque madame was very good wouldn’t recommend anything else
Great food, service and value
We were a group of four that went before the Paramount show, Hamilton. Arrived at 6 pm and dinner took ridiculously long to arrive with excuses like "they're plating it right now" and 15 minutes later it still hadn't arrived. Food arrived around 7:30 pm and we had to choke it down to leave in time to walk to the show. The cod plate I ordered was lukewarm to not warm, and seemed like it had been sitting a while, not worth $30. They "took a round off our bill," which amounted to two glasses of wine since there were only two people drinking, and bill was over $200. Also, told them ahead of time, via phone call, that we had two people who were celebrating birthdays and they did not even acknowledge during or after dinner. Not that there would have been any time after dinner. Definitely not going back or recommending.
I like everything about Urbane except the fact that you include the tip in the bill. I was once a waitress, so I get it; however, that duty should be left to the patron.
Mediocre dining experience and service in overpriced venue with limited choices. Martini came warm, creme brulee was cold. Convenient for pre-theater dining but not worth the cost. Also extremely loud, couldn't hear each other across the table. We won't be going again.
First time eating at Urbane. Had lovely dinner before a show. Absolutely perfect in every way!
