Fun brunch before a show at the Paramount!!
Slow service.
Excellent, creative food, superb service and great ambiance. We were surprised there were not more people as The Paramount Theatre had "Frozen" playing. Not sure why.
Food wasn’t great but cool. For sure not worth the price.. but if you’re staying at the hotel and don’t want to leave than this is a better option to Grubhub or uber eats.
DO NOT DINE HERE!
Trying to give the benefit of the doubt as it was a busy night but...
Wait staff was rude and forgot to put in drinks order.
All food and drinks where brought out well after everyone around us.
Food was over priced and mediocre at best. I had to send food back as it wasn’t edible the first try. I hate doing this but for $30 a plate food should be cooked.
Overall it’s a nicely decorated hotel restaurant. Good for drinks or appetizers. Eat elsewhere!!
There is also a mandatory 20% service charge so the staff doesn’t care they get their 20% tip no matter how things were.
Update: we asked for our food to be boxed as we just wanted to leave and found the next day food was missing. The waiter had taken it. What kind of immature person this is I can’t comment but there is clearly problems.
I’ll never be back
We had dinner in Urbane for Valentine's day. Great food, lovely ambience and a nice crowd. We would love to dine there again.
The problem with coming to America.
The fact that I had to pay for parking... Absurd!
The 'DESIGNER' food was extremely limited and just OK.
We often go to Urbane before our shows at the Paramount Theatre. We have valet parking that's discounted when we eat dinner there for the show. It's so nice to go in and out quickly at the end of our special evening.
The service is ALWAYS excellent. All the staff are friendly and helpful. They check if we have a time schedule we need to keep making sure that we are on time for our show.
Our servers are quick to guide us through the menu if we have questions and offer advice. They've never failed us.
I have also met friends there for breakfast and lunch and still find them restaurant warm and friendly. It's well located and feels safe.
I was concerned about the poor reviews. But I was pleasantly surprised and will go back again. The majority of the poor reviews were based on poor service (20% tip is included in all checks), so what's the point a server to perform if they are going to make 20% for doing nothing. The I has was spot on!
A surprising meal! Based on the photos and name of the restaurant (that is, including the name of the hotel), led me to believe a little it that it was a hotel restaurant. Nothing could be further from the truth. Loved that we could get reservations for our party of 8! We pretty much covered the bases on terms of ordering from the menu, and everything was very good. The butter chicken could have used more heat, even, but heat is tricky! All the desserts were good, but the flourless chocolate cake was a true standout.
We arrived at 6:30. And ordered right away. Because of a concert rush we did not receive our food until 7:45. We were 5 people and spent over $250. Way too long to wait without receiving any sort of food or comping some dessert or something to make up for how long we waited.
I had the salmon which was great as a dish, thought the salmon was slightly over cooked. My son had the duck which he thought was outstanding.
What a cool find off the beaten path in Downtown Seattle.
Food and service was outstanding and not what I would have expected for being part of a hotel, although you wouldn't have known it as they are truly separate.
A must do when looking for a great lunch spot
You guys do outstanding pork chops during dinner. Breakfast/brunch was horrible. Will not be returning for breakfast or brunch. Runny, cold eggs, overcooked chicken sausage and you were too short staffed.
Enjoyed a great breakfast at Urbane Restaurant. I ordered the special eggs which included Hills Bacon and three cheeses in a scramble. This came with roasted potatoes which were wonderfully seasoned. The hot chocolate was really good as well. My friend had 2 scrambled eggs with potatoes and toast. She ordered the Uli's Chicken Sausage which she shared with me. I didn't care for the tastes but that's no fault of the restaurant.
This visit was a bit weird as I had a reservation and they attempted to seat me at a tall table (in the bar area) which I don't care for so I requested a low table. I will note this for the future so there is no confusion. Now I mentioned the food was good. It was the service, the whole way around, that was not good. We were seated and it seemed like the restaurant was still trying to set up as one of the workers was placing a 4 piece jelly assortment at the tables. After a good 5 minutes of no one coming to the table we inquired with this same staff person who without missing a beat said she's on her way to your table. It was another 2 minutes (and he didn't move from his setting up) before she showed up. She took our drink order and never asked if we were ready to order and walked away never acknowledging the wait. When she returned about 5 minutes later with our beverages, she offered to take our order. The food came out and I don't recall her ever checking on us to see if we wanted anything else or if the food was okay. Next she came but well after our plates had been cleared and wanted to know if we were charging to our room or on a credit card. The check came and it includes the 20% service charge. This was the first time that charge was hard to swallow as she didn't deserve the 20% but I have to remember that the 20% is a service charges so it's not all going to her but being split between everyone and I'd say the kitchen staff earned their money as again, the food was really good.
Very nice atmosphere, good presentation of meals, excellent food.
The food was very good and fairly priced. Caesar salad with steak needed extra dressing which we go and seemed to lack a choice but otherwise very good. The salmon was good but the vegetable mix had beans that seemed a bit undercooked but otherwise very good. Excellent drinks.
Thought the menu was a little sparse however what we had was excellent and I would order again. It was not too busy when we arrived. The two people greeting us were extremely helpful and very nice. We immediately had someone come to the table to get our drink order and we got our drinks quickly. Unfortunately for some reason it took quite a while to order as our server did not return for quite a while. As I said the food was outstanding. Again however it took far to long for the food server to return with our check. I knew about the 20% service charge from my prior research but this charge was never brought up at the restaurant. I try to avoid restaurants that have a service charge and that would be the only reason I might not return. Overall it was an excellent meal at a place with great ambience.
Great experience. The server Issac was great!
Good food, friendly service that really paid attention to you and were there when you were looking for them.
The bread was cold and old, the Shirley temple was nothing like s Shirley temple, the food was mediocre+ and on top of everything they automatically charge 20% tip as a house policy. NO.
My favorite place when going to the Paramount.
Good food, interesting menu. It's a bit pricey and the service isn't fast. Lovely ambience and love the use of local ingredients!
Food is good. The kitchen does show pride in ingredients chosen and preparation. Overpriced. The wine glass pours are a meager 5oz and pricey. It looks as if the service team is short staffed by design but the servers work hard and are very accommodating. Very pleasant dining room. An eager Food and Beverage executive is trying to make his/her numbers look good at the end of the year for a bonus and/or promotion. The result; no value-perceived or real-and a beautiful empty looking dining room by end of next year if not sooner. Too bad.
Lovely restaurant near Paramount, but I found the menu limited, the food lackluster, and the service very subpar, from the hostess to the wait staff. I won’t avoid, but definitely restrict it to a place I’d go because it is convenient to the theater.
The steak I was served was full of sinew, difficult to cut even with a steak knife. The accompanying chimichurri sauce was flavorless. The staff was polite and did keep things moving along as we had theatre tickets.
We were so hopeful about Urbane as it received good reviews and is close to the Paramount Theater, where we went to a show after dinner. But the reality is Urbane has a way to go to attract customers to tasty meals. The Salmon Rilette, for example, had almost no discernible salmon in it. It was a white, greasy concoction that had virtually no flavor. The salmon on our salad, additionally, also lacked flavor and was gummy rather than flakey. The vegan pasta was by all accounts mealy and, save a few pieces of sweet potato, was a mass of compressed noodles in another tasteless sauce. We will say the soups we tried were pretty good if a little salty. And the service was very kind... in part because the restaurant had almost no customers despite it being a Saturday night. We really want to like this place, as it's comfortable, well-located, and clear has a staff that wants to care. Focus on upping your food game and you'll get there.
They staff was more than accommodating and very friendly. They anticipated we were going to the Paramount and kept everything on track for us!
We ate at Urbane before heading to a show at the Paramount. The staff was definitely aware that there was a show that night because we were asked right when we sat down if we needed to be out by a certain time to make the concert. It also was not very busy - restaurant was maybe a third full. So I was surprised that we didn’t get our food until an hour after we sat down. Our server came over a couple of times to apologize for the wait but didn’t offer much in terms of anything to tide us over. We finally asked for bread and she brought it. Overall a disappointing experience at a restaurant with an automatic gratuity charge.
Had a very nice meal and a great bottle of wine. Our server was well versed in both the menu and the wine list and was very helpful. We'll be back!
Service was good at first, then went to poor. Food was not cooked the way we ordered, sent some items back, and overall taste for my streak was mediocre. I would not recommend and will not return.
Excellent food and service. Split a salad for us, split the bill, got us to the theatre on time!
Dinner before the theater.
This was not my first visit to Urbane. It is close to the theater and a usually a good place for a pre-theater meal. We arrived nearly 2 hours before curtain and told the server we had theater tickets. We did not dawdle in ordering. However, it took an hour to get our meal! This meant we were eating quickly, paying quickly and hustling out of the there. Otherwise the review would have been much better.
Urbane is a great place to come for a pre-theatre supper. The pork chop with cheddar cheese polenta and sautéed greens was divine. We had a 5:30 PM reservation and our dinners were served by 6 PM. Between dinner and dessert the service was lacking. It took 15 minutes to have our server come to our table despite three requests made to the other wait staff. I’m sure it was related to the crowd of customers that had since arrived. None the less, I would eat here again.
My pasta dish was bland, my husband enjoyed the fish and chips.
Pretzel roles were regular rolls. Veggie curry had only beans.
Food was abundant. Left half behind and they were not entrees but starters. Like that tip or service charge is automatically included. Wish more places would adopt that concept.
Went to Urbane before a great Blues concert at the (nearby) Paramount Theater. The crab cakes were some of the best I have ever had-and that's from a 'crab cake snob' who spent 30+ years in San Francisco. They were tasty, cooked to perfection and the jalapeno aioli sauce combined with the sweet cherry tomatoes was superb! Throw in an $8 parking fee and this is a great place to dine.
I really enjoyed the Greek yogurt, fruit and granola bowl. My husband’s chicken sausage was not good. It was over cooked and dried out. We called it to the attention of our server who said she would take it off the bill. We were charged anyway.
