I’ve usually had a very good experience all around at Urbane. I’ve been many times. However on this particular occasion, the service was VERY slow.
We had a simple party of four and gave our selves 1 hour 45 to eat before the theater. Two of us were going to the Paramount. The other two were going to the 5th Avenue.
We should not have ordered dessert! But we made a request that the server bring our tickets at the time of dessert because we had to leave quickly for the theater. His response, was “Yup. Like everyone else here.”
Didn’t have the option to leave anything other than the mandatory 20% gratuity, but speed of service did not warrant 20%.
Not happy with the experience!
The food was good but our server forgot to turn in our salad order and our entrées order. She was very nice and apologize but we were shocked when the bill came and there was an automatic 20% service charge!
I love Urbane, its a go-to when I have out of town colleagues visiting. Attentive staff and a great wine list.
I was disappointed however that I received an email form Opentable chiding me for missing my reservation. We were late, however it was a Tuesday and there were multiple open tables. I did inform the staff of my reservation. So, I'll continue going to Urbane but probably start picking up the phone to make reservations rather than use Opentable.
I would not recommend this restaurant, nor will we return. The food was mediocre and our primary server was awful. His attitude was so bad I almost said something to him. I have no idea why he works in the restaurant/service industry.
Had a great time. Food was so good.
The staff helpful and efficient.
I had been here for dinner before and really enjoyed it. This was my first time visiting for weekend brunch and it was wonderful. I had the Crab Benedict and it was amazing, especially the potatoes. I definitely recommend this place to anyone downtown who wants some good eats in a nice place at any time of day. It's really nice without being too fancy. I like it a lot!
This hotel restaurant was mediocre at best for brunch and coffee. Coffee tasted awful.
We've had breakfast at Urbane a number of times and really enjoyed it, and that was partly how we chose Urbane for Thanksgiving dinner. All three of us ordered the prix fixe turkey dinner which was described as having several sides. The sides were actually just what would normally be included with an entree (e.g. a few tiny carrots), not actual sides. The turkey was dry. One cocktail was not brought as ordered; we had to ask a second time for plates for the rolls. The meal was way overpriced. We will go back, but not for a holiday dinner.
Fish and chips were way too salty. Scallops were only fine and overpriced. Very disappointed.
We took our 3.5yr old daughter on our Anniversary dinner date. Everyone took such good care of us and was incredibly friendly. Our server even brought us a box of chocolates as a gift. The food was delicious. We will definitely be back!
Went in for a quick round of drinks and appetizers with girlfriends before a show at the Paramount. They were unprepared for a rush..which is shocking considering they are only a couple of blocks from the Paramount. The charcuterie and pork belly left a bit to be desired. They add 20% to the bill anyway.
Service was slow due to an event at the Paramount. Seems they were understaffed. Food was ok, but over priced. Valet parking was rude and tried to charge us $31 even though we were validated.
Enjoyed breakfast here very much. Menu is unique and the food was excellent. My server was prompt ande professional. Overall, no complaints at all. Strongly recommend this spot for business breakfast.
Great food in a nice atmosphere.
Staff very friendly.
I am Gluten free and noted that they had several GF options. It's just that they were not very interesting… Overall, We thought the menu was pretty limited regardless of GF options. Pretty much the same ingredients served differently. HOWEVER, the mussels were huge, tender and flavorful and the mushroom soup was OUTSTANDING!!
Very loud and food was just ok. There was a very loud party that made for yucky experience
The service is generally slow here and it seems to have gotten worse now that they automatically include a 20% tip on the bill. They are much less attentive then they use to be and it is not that busy during lunchtime on a weekday.
Ordered a Crab Eggs Benedict.... needed a microscope to find the crab. Very expensive.
Food tastes good but small portions for the price. Service was very good. Attentive waitress. The restaurant was not full or busy for a Friday night. I might go back.
Service excellent. Food good, Bloody Mary super. Coffee horrible.
Our waiter was friendly but left us at a certain point and didn’t return to take our dessert orders, bring us our dessert (that took more than 15 minutes), or get our bill. Our bill was incorrect and then again after we’d sent it back to be fixed. We arrived at 5:20 and finally made it out at nearly 6:45. The restaurant was nice, the food was delicious, the service was friendly but not helpful after our meals had been delivered.
Very poor service, but a 20% service charge was included. My avocado toast was really just bread with a 1/4 inch layer of avocado spread topped with greens. My Bloody Mary was unseasoned and very little alcohol. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant. We left angry with a hole in our wallets.
The service here is absolutely fabulous and so are the drinks, but the food is decidedly substandard. How, one wonders, do you screw up pork belly? I'll tell you! You freeze it for six months, then microwave it for a half minute so that it has a sizzling outside and a cold, gelatinous center. I'm not saying that's what happened here. I'm saying that's what I'd do if I wanted to reproduce what showed up on my plate Saturday night.
Visually ornate dishes that promised something exotic and leaves you very, very underwhelmed. When this happens at hotel-restaurant pricing, you seethe with an ire that, given enough time, could ... properly cook pork belly.
Amazing service. We let them know ahead of time that we were vegan and our server came loaded with menu ideas
Food was delicious and for lunch downtown, not over priced for what you get.
I chose this restaurant because it was close to the Paramount Theatre. In addition to its convenient location, I found the service, valet parking, and menu to be great. All four people in our party had a different meal and everyone was pleased.
Surprised by the quality and presentation of the food. Everything delicious and great service. Cork fee too high but otherwise reasonable
I’ve been in a few times, and appreciate that Urbane is an above-average hotel restaurant. It’s rarely crowded, even on theatre nights, so it’s a reliably tasty meal before a nearby show.
A good place for a pre-show meal. Nice selection to choose from.
Both myself and my friend had the Croque Madam (without the egg) we LOVED it!
Great vibe. The cheese tray is a must! Fun for a night out with friends!
We had dinner at Urbane before seeing a show at the Paramount Theater. The proximity to the theater was why we chose the restaurant. My meal was amazing. Every bite was delicious. I think we all had yummy meals. The chef adjusted an appetizer so that we could have salmon on gluten-free crackers, even though it wasn't listed as a possibility on the menu. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Service was OK, food was adequate, nothing bad, nothing great. Decent meal, nothing more.
There is a 20% service charge that’s not listed on the menu. I’m for this If it’s used for employee wages and benefits. The server doesn’t tell you either when she brings the check. Only reason I know is I saw it on the itemized bill. There’s also a tip line on the credit card slip.
That will keep me from returning.
My wife and I ate at Urbane before seeing Waitress at the Paramount Theatre. We have eaten at Urbane many times and have never had a less than wonderful experience. I had the duck breast and it was absolutely exceptional. My wife had the steak and she really enjoyed the dish as well. It was another memorable meal at a fine restaurant. We'll be back soon!
Classic Americana meets great service. Restaurant is great bang for your buck.
we had Chosen the Restaurant on the Occasion of our stay in seattle
A wonderful, incredible place to go for breakfast (or for any meal). Service was outstanding and the entrees were nicely prepared and tasty... job well done.
An unexpected pleasure and experience. Thought we were just going to another “hotel attached bar” the Urbane surprised us. Great Happy Hour, great drinks, and a fabulously attentive waitness. No TV in the bar but the bartender knows his stuff. We’ll be back!
