Terrible service. Mediocre food. Poor value, with a mandatory 20 percent service charge. Nothing to recommend about this awful place.

Very expensive for what you get. We had brunch and ordered one of the egg dishes. For $16 it was a very small portion of eggs, one piece of toast, and a plateful of potatoes (a cheap way to fill up a plate). Add to that that there's very little parking near there and we spent $11 to park, it was a very expensive, okay but not great, meal with so little food we went home and ate again. (And we are not big eaters.) Definitely a captive audience pricing situation--near theaters and attached to a hotel, so people will pay for the location. We won't be going back.

We went here for lunch before a matinee at the Paramount with my 9 yr old daughter. The service was efficient and they got us served and out in time for our show. The food was mostly good, however we ordered their tomato soup which was too spicy for me and my daughter. The menu didn't mention that it was spicy. Still, the rest of the food was very good. One slightly irritating point is that they automatically add 20% gratuity to the bill, which wasn't immediately obvious. Still, I'd go back again for a pre or post show meal.

Great spot for a quick meal before a show at the Paramount two blocks away. We were delayed by freeway traffic, but they accommodated us, and had menu recommendations so we could make our show. The food was so fresh!

Wonderful atmosphere and ambiance the food was great and unique. The service was decent our waitress at first seemed inattentive but we quickly realized it seemed she was flying solo. The support staff were excellent explaining our charcuterie to us and asking us if we had any questions ( I wish I would have got her name she was great.) Overall great experience for the price and location. Thus a visit is a must!!

This restaurant practices farm to table. The dishes are creative and very good. Though not extensive, the wine list is local and pairs very well with the chefs creations. I definitely recommend it for anyone staying at the Hyatt hotel and locals looking for something special. Try the local Barbera... Not as soft as the Italians, but it works very well with the spiciness of the duck.

Just average. We came for our anniversary with our kids. The place was nearly empty from 5pm-6:30. The food was good but not great, definitely better choices for the price. Service was odd. Kids menu has good choices at good prices.

Had a great stay at the Hyatt Olive 8 and ate at Urbane 3 times - once for dinner and twice for breakfast. Had really delicious food and excellent service each time! Creative menu that makes use of fresh local ingredients. I loved the salmon and hubby said his duck was very good. Nice charcuterie plate starter. Breakfasts were excellent. Great spot within close walking distance to the Paramoint Theater. Very friendly and efficient service.

Only concern is the push to seat in the front of the restaurant which is and old trick to make the place look busy. I prefer a quieter table away from the main entrance.

The service was good and our meal was fine. We were there on a Friday night at 6:30 and the restaurant was quiet, that was disappointing. It's definitely a hotel restaurant vibe and they are pricing as a fancy downtown restaurant.

Prior to dining at Urbane, I was unaware of their 20% surcharge that is automatically added to the final bill. While I understand the restaurant trying to comply with the minimum wage increases in Seattle, I was a little incensed by this automatic assumption, and the percentage that is assumed.
For one, my company has a 15% tip maximum allowance for business meals. Typically, I add to that, depending on the service. In addition, I tip on a sliding scale depending on wine and alcoholic beverages added to the bill. This sweeping surcharge caught me off guard, as the meal itself was not cheap.
The food was just "okay", I would not go back for it, and the service was just "okay". Our server brought a dessert menu before we were finished with our main course, and asked for our dessert order while my guest was still eating her dinner.
Again, I understand the underlying reason for the surcharge, but forcing a guest's hand/wallet to pay an automatic 20% on their bill when the food and service is mediocre, in my opinion, is simply bad business.
Tipping has always been a "gratuity" for just that, gratitude for an amazing experience. Where is the incentive for the employees to go above and beyond and provide a memorable experience for the guests? Great Experiences + Happy Customers= Referrals and Return Visits. That is simple Business 101.
Admittedly, I did not look into this surcharge prior to making my reservation, I will own that, but being forced to pay more for what I thought was less, did not sit well with me. Needless to say, I will not be recommending or returning to Urbane.

Unique blend of different tastes and textures made this a memorable experience. Nestled at the corner of Olive & 8th is a fine eating establishment with bustling crowds all about. Don't pass on the salted caramel ice cream if on offer! Divine!!

Thought it was ok. Spent basically $140 on appetizers and house wine. The service was fair probably because they automatically gave themselves a 20% tip. Why work for it if it's automatic?

My nephew got the pastrami sandwich and couldn't eat it - so much fat he couldn't even bite through it. I ordered the grilled cheese with peppers but only got the grilled cheese. Their tomato soup was good. They kindly took my nephew's sandwich off the bill, but with my grilled cheese, iced tea and his beer the bill was just over $27. Seems ridiculous for one sandwich and 2 drinks.

The lobster Benedict is worth traveling for. I live in NYC and make sure I go for this dish whenever I'm in Seattle.

I must add that I went to this restaurant on another occasion for a late night burger. I explicitly asked for my burger to be MEDIUM RARE. I don't eat well done burgers as they taste like cardboard.
I got cardboard. The restaurant graciously apologized but I ended my Seattle trip with a disappointment
I hope that was a singular aberration in what has always been a great dining experience with well prepared food.

Easily in the TOP 5 best restaurant experiences! We had a party of seven (including a 5yo and a 3mo old) and from the moment we arrived (15 minutes early) they were attentive and responsive. They went out of their way to make sure we weren't crammed into a booth, and that there was adequate room for the baby's car-seat. Once seated, our server Jennell made us feel welcome and comfortable – even with all our high-maintenance food issues. She was on top of every request and was proactive in making us feel taken care of. The food was ah-MAH-zing and even when we had a slight hiccup with one of the dishes they took care of it before we had a chance to finish our sentence.

No one greeted or seated us for too long when we arrived. The kitchen made a switch to the entree, didn't tell the waiter, and only fessed up when asked. The waiter didn't offer pepper for our salads and dropped off a plastic grocery store grinder when asked. These and other minor happenings made the service not up to par with other similar restaurants. Now I know why we got a reservation last minion a Saturday.

I have generally been satisfied with my meals and experiences at Urbane. However, this last time was very disappointing. The restaurant was probably less than 1/3 full and yet it took 45-50 min for 2 salads and a cup of soup to be served. All this without any information from our server as to the delay. I even asked if our food would be coming soon to provide an "opening" for some sort of explanation as to delay and all I got was, "yes it's coming" and another 15 min passed. If there was a catering event or kitchen issue, then that should've been conveyed to diners because we don't have all day to eat lunch & may have chosen another restaurant. My friend and I were on a lunch break that had to go long so that we could eat, and though the food was delicious as usual, I am loathe to return due to poor service and excessive wait.
