About
DO NOT BOOK HERE. My party of 4 showed up on time to our 2pm reservation, only to be told Urbana no longer exists (it's a different restaurant now) and the kitchen closes at 1pm. This listing should be taken off OpenTable.
First, Urbana has been a place me and my military family go to catch up and enjoy greats eats. On Saturday November 14,2020 me and my brother went to Urbana. We were greeted and told bottomless brunch is no longer on the menu. It was fine we came for the food. I ordered the charcuterie board which was good. Then I ordered the beet salad and there was no beets. Nonetheless, my brother ordered the fried chicken. It was soggy batter, and unreasonable meat. After that I asked for the check and we left. I was disappointed but hope this is not the case for future patrons
Cute little place for pizza. Nice outdoor set up. Would return.
The food was amazing and the bottomless drinks were a great value. I would definitely go back again.
I stopped by Urbana Dining and Drinks for brunch. I enjoyed the endless pizza and bottomless mimosas. I loved the Arugula and Prosciutto pizza and the Tequila Sunrise was perfect! I'll definitely come back again.
Always an incredible experience for brunch or happy hour.
First time staying at a hotel since COVID 19. Dining at Urbana has always been a favorite experience. Food was fabulous as always and good service. Only challenge was that Open Table had reservations available before the restaurant opened for business. I was booked for 9:30am, but they don't open until 11am.
Outside of that snafus... it was a fabulous experience.
The brunch was LITTY! I didn't love the pancakes (they were good pancakes, but I didn't taste the lemon in the lemon ricotta) and it was comp'd for me! We received bottles of champagne for the table (we all ordered bottomless) which is far more convienant than waiting for a waiter to come back around with a refill. The patio isn't really covered, more like umbrellas for each table so there will be some sun at some point. Overall, I had good company and a good time---I'd return.
Wish the hours were extended for brunch!
The restaurant was closed. Nobody answered the phone. This occurred despite their opentable information clearly updated for social distancing.
Fantastic food, attentive waitress. The star of our meal was the scallops.
Delicious gluten free pasta and pizza!
The last time I dined at Urbana was over 10 years ago and, at that time, Urbana was not only a great restaurant but also a hip and happening place. Sadly, that is no longer the case. The overall look was tired and worn. The menu uninspiring. The service was slow. After ordering drinks and talking with my date, we decided to leave and dine elsewhere.
Best Salmon ever had-cooked exactly as ordered with tasty flavors.
Not much to say. Neighborhood pub/restaurant. Exactly what it purports to be. Did a good job for that.
The food was amazing! The apple pie is to die for!!🥰😍
Excellent modern interior. Food is really delicious. We had the octopus appetizer, really soft and flavorful. Friendly staff who were quick to respond.
Valentine’s Day
It’s....ok. Service was a little slow, food was uneven. The staff kindly and quite unexpectedly gave our table dessert when they learned we were celebrating an occasion. To be fair, we hadn’t been in a while and didn’t realize the changes that had been made (lots of high tops, primarily pizza and pasta) but even accounting for the style of the restaurant, the kitchen is not on par with where it was before.
Poor service from our waiter and very underwhelming food.
We had a last minute large group of 15 and were so happy to be able to get our entire group at one big table in what was essentially our own room.
The service, drinks and food was outstanding.
Thanks Stevena, Very happy we were able to accommodate your group, we love big parties! Hope to see you back soon. Cheers, Ryan
While the food and service at the table was good the host/reception was the worst one can imagine. Despite having a reservation we were made to wait which we did not mind but then they told us they don’t have a table for us and if we want to eat we can sit on the bar. I politely indicated that we have a reservation and the host rudely said it is on a first come first basis. I said not when you have a confirmed reservation to which he again rudely replied “your only choice is to sit at the bar”. because I had a guest and did not want to look for another restaurant as the weather was cold we sat at the bar anyway. The only reason they could not give us a table was because a large groups without a reservation showed up and they just put all the tables together to accommodate them basically immediate income was better that long term customer satisfaction. I will never go back there again and ideally they should fire that rude guy.
I would for drinks, the location and the atmosphere. The food is only so, so.
Food is great. The serving size was much bigger than other restaurant week meals. However, the service is terrible. If you come, expect food to take a very long time and don't expect any attentiveness by the staff.
Came for restaurant week winter 2020. Food was tasty but service was so slow. Took a long time to get just about everything.
There was a cork piece in the wine but otherwise the food was amazing and well cooked. Our server was very polite and made sure we were well taken care of.
Seemed a bit off for Tuesday night. Service was really slow and lacking attention. When the one server came by he didn’t even pour our water he set a bottle down and walked away. Our other server took almost 15 min to acknowledge us and we didn’t see her again till time for the check.
Used to really like this place but seems they have slid in their service lately. Food is still really good but it’s offset by a really poor service experience.
Great service and full menu selection with few restrictions during the DC Restaurant Week
Great experience. Overall the food was delicious and the service was great. Food came out quickly and tasty.
For apps we had the Fritti Misti and Burrata. Fritti Misti was good — nothing amazing. But nice if you like fried food. The burrata had great flavor! Serving sizes for apps are what you expect for the price— good.
Main course included Tagliatelle: yummy—and flavorful as expected. Glad they included a little spice! Second dish was the Pappardelle, absolutely must have. It was delicious.
We didn’t eat much earlier in the day and since everything was going pretty well, we indulged in dessert :)
Dessert 1: chocolate boudino. The boudino was mouth watering. The pistachio ice cream which it was paired with did not come through on the flavor. But I’m a chocolate lover and having a cold ice cream with warm chocolate.. I was happy. Wish they could have done more on the flavor though of the pistachio— big pistachio fan.
Dessert 2: Apple pie with ice cream. This was soo good. I rarely have apple pie— used to be a thing I would get on road trips via McDonald’s. Figure I try the upscale version. Maybe my standards aren’t too high for this one ;-) But I loved it. Definitely enjoyed the better ingredients in comparison to fast food.
Great ambience and food— recommend to try it out!
Jay Charlie Dante and Lauren are the best. Stay here often And now on an 8 day stay and service is always superb. Plus always treated by the sweet hostess staff of Evelin, Pilar and Tierra!!!
Wonderful Feast of the 7 Fishes Meal on Christmas Eve. Service was a bit spotty but manager stepped in and made things right. Food was superbly prepared and well presented. Reasonably priced. I don't dine in DC often but would return for next year's Feast.
I absolutely loved dinner at Urbana. I was celebrating my birthday with a group of friends and we were placed in a very nice private room! The Bucatini I had was amazing and I also had a chance to try the Roasted Chicken entree which was seasoned to perfection. The ambience was great as well. I would recommend for sure.
My friends and I came for the “Pizza Party” brunch. Most of us got bellinis and they brought us full bottles of champagne with multiple juices, which was great! The pizzas had a good variety and were pretty tasty. It was pretty empty for a Saturday brunch. The service was so-so as our waiter apparently left about 3/4 of the way through our meal and we were left waiting for our checks for a bit.
A comfortable option if you are staying at the Kimpton Palomar. Friendly wait staff make you feel welcome. Well stocked bar and nicely crafted Italian cuisine. I would recommend this place as an integral part of your visit to DuPont Circle.
My party of 9 had a great brunch at Urbana. We were given a private room which worked great for our large group. The bottomless drinks were well received and the food was quite good. Some had the breakfast stromboli and some went the way of lunch with the pizza and burger and PLT sandwich. Everyone seemed pleased.
Urbana is an oasis in a decent sized city. Multiple food offerings with a great drinks menu. The staff will want to know you but allow you to indulge. May not be a foodie’s paradise but this is my local Thursday evening spot. You cannot go wrong with their happy hour!
The food was shockingly good— every bit on par in terms of flavor, presentation and quality as some of the top 25 type restaurants that Urbana would never find itself on. It’s too bad the place is semi subterranean and in a hotel. With cooking like this, it should generate more attention than it does
Went for my birthday brunch and they gave us a private room which was nice they were super accommodating and the food was delicious I highly recommend
Everyone was friendly and attentive.
The food took a while before it was served, but the melon and proscuitto appetizer and the pizza were great! The waitress only ever interacted with us to take our orders and drop off our food, and never checked in. We ordered the baby octopus appetizer, but the octopus was very fishy, so we mentioned it to the manager who checked in on us inquiring about the octopus, but no one ever came back to follow up.
